We've used Happy Pets to walk our dog for the last 2 years. They are an amazing company that carefully selects their pet caretakers who clearly love animals and are dedicated to the job. We have had 3 walkers with them and each has been very trustworthy and responsible with our little guy. They walk each dog individually which was great for my dog who loves to get all the human attention to himself. It also allowed him the time and space to do all his business which did not happen when he was walked with multiple dogs (other company we used). We have never had a single issue with any walker in the last 2 years which I cannot say we experienced when we were in Brooklyn. They also have a great app where you can request and cancel appointments with ease as well as view pictures and comments from each walk. We also used them for various in home pet sitting over the years which worked out beautifully. The rates for both walking and sitting were competitive with the area. Overall, if you are looking for a dedicated walker or sitter to care for your pet this is the only place to look in Forest Hills! read more

I've been using Happy Pets for the last 3 months and will continue to use them. Maura, Rollys sitter is the best. Rolly adores her (i have a pet camera and occasionally i look and see how loving she is with him, he is all over her and she showers him with attention). I am happy knowing that Rolly is in good hands with someone who genuinely loves cats. And I appreciate her patience as my cat has a very sensitive stomach and doesn't like it when I'm away so she's always keeping me informed when he vomits and takes the time to clean it up. I never feel overwhelmed or worried when Maura is around. Keep up the great work! Happy Pets has been by far one of the best decisions I've made for my dog. We've been using Happy Pets for about 3 months now (five days a week). My boyfriend and I work a lot of hours, and we knew we needed to invest in a dog walker. Our pup gets anxious when she is alone and will cry and yelp (and our neighbors were sure to let us know) once we leave for the day. I contacted Happy Pets and Jamie came to our apartment on Sunday to meet us and our dog and she asked a ton of questions about her - temperament, food preferences, how she is with other animals/people, what her favorite toys/games are - everything! She set us up with a temporary walker for the first few weeks before our permanent walker, Natasha, started. All in all - I cannot say enough good things about Happy Pets. Our pup is so much happier during the day (our neighbors don't complain anymore) and it feels great knowing she is taken care of so well. There have been a few times where my boyfriend or I have returned from travelling for work when Natasha or Michael (one of our fill-ins) gets there or gets back from the walk, and our dog is happy and excited to see them. And honestly, our dog's "review" is the only one that really matters at the end of the day! Both Natasha and Michael are great walkers and really nice people too. Jamie is amazing about responding asap to e-mails/texts and setting up last minute walks/pet setting. We had to go out of town for a weekend and we were unable to take Nova. I texted Jamie on a day or two before we left to set up pet sitting for the weekend and within an hour she got everything in order and set up so our pup was taken care of. I like that everything is online, you can write notes to the walker that he/she will see before the walk and you get an e-mail summary and picture of your pet after each walk. The website has had some problems from time to time, but in that case, Jamie e-mails or texts you how the walk went. Obviously, a third-party website is not something Jamie can control, but she more than makes up for it in making sure everything is taken care of. read more

Jamie and Christina are consummate professionals. We are able to have a consistent walker each time we need help with our dog. My wife and I have crazy work schedules. Sometimes we need to schedule a walk same day with short notice. They are so caring and make every attempt to accommodate our needs. We get email and picture updates from each walk. Christina even checks in using GPS. We also get updates on whether our pup goes #1 or #2. On hot summer days our walker leaves extra water and turns up the AC so our pup doesn't overheat in the stuffy apartment. Could not be happier with happy pets! read more

You can see from my original review that I was very happy with the service we received from Happy Pets over the first year or so we used them for dog walking while we were at work. Unfortunately we had several switches in dog walkers, some of which we didn't find out about until after the change had been made. When this happened I requested information on each new walker and didn't receive any background on the walker or their experience caring for animals. In one case I discovered when I was home sick that the walker didn't know how to put my dog's harness on, which I communicated needed to be worn on every walk. There were other instances where his leash was attached to his collar instead of his harness when we got home, which made me think the harness was not being used at all. It made me very uneasy that I didn't know who was walking my dog and coming into my apartment every day. I hope that Happy Pets will return to the level of service we initially experienced but I cannot recommend them at this time. read more

Happy Pets is wonderful with dogs with behavioral issues. My dog, Goobie is very weary of strangers and takes awhile to warm up to people. Jamie, the owner was very understanding and nice during the initial consultation. Goobie barked and growled during the entire consult but Jamie didn't hesitate to take us as clients. I work full time so I needed a dog walker to walk Goobie five days a week for a 30 min relief walk. Leslie who is goobie's steady walker was very patient with Goobie and put up with a lot from my little monster. She never gave up on him and he eventually warmed up to her and now loves when Leslie comes to walk him. Aliza also walked Goobie when Leslie was away and she is wonderful too. I get report cards daily from Jamie via email everyday which keeps me updated on how he did on his walk. As dog owners, they are our babies. I would highly recommend Happy Pets. It is such a relief for me to find trustworthy walkers that truly cares for animals. read more

I needed a cat sitter to check up on my two cats when I was on vacation. Luckily I found Happy Pets which service my neighborhood in Rego Park. They are very professional, I get reports and pictures of my cats after every visit. I feel safe with them with my cats. I absolutely LOVE Happy Pets and the way they're talking care of my English Bulldog when we're at work! Michele sends the best report cards, it puts a huge smile on my face every day knowing that someone is there to walk him and care for him if just for a little while to break up the day. not sure why i'm just now seeing Jamie's answer to my rating. let me just let you guys know that she knew exactly where the harness was. so did Muffins regular dog walker and it's all in the app she uses - so very easy to look up. please don't say you didn't see it or didn't know where it was when 1. it's on the app and 2. you had my number. be professional bc u know that there are a multitude of dangers for dogs when walked only with a collar. a simple google search will tell you that. yes i was incredibly happy w the service until i realized my dogs safety had been compromised. i have since made other arrangements and a harness is used every time. read more

We were looking for what to do with our cat while going away on vacation for about 10 days and after hearing so many horror stories about animals being boarding I was so relieved to find out about Happy Pets. Jamie is a total professional and you can tell she really cares about the animals she takes care of. She was thorough with her questions on Corey and was so cute playing with him when he came over very curious about who she was. I felt totally comfortable leaving her the keys to our home and our boy in her care. We are pretty sure she loves our dog as much as we do. On an extremely hot day, she gave Spooky a cold compress to cool him off...she is the BEST! I don't usually write reviews but I had to share my recent experience with Jamie and Happy Pets. This was the second time we used the kitty sitting services for our new kitten Cheech. We had to book a last minute flight back to CA for a weekend because a dear friend passed away from cancer. I only gave Jamie 24 hours notice and even though our normal sitter Michael was not available Jamie ended up sitting Cheech herself. I was so impressed that she would go out of her way to accommodate us. She is a great business owner and Cheech absolutely loves her. We already have our next sitting appointment scheduled and will continue to use Happy Pets because Jamie and her staff are trustworthy and reliable, and the most important thing is that Cheech is happy while we are gone. read more

We used Happy Pets this past week to watch our two cats while we were on vacation. Jamie is really nice to work with and everything went smoothly so we were able to relax on vacation without worrying about our kitties. I received email updates every time the visit started and an update on how our kitties were doing. I love that everything is done through their website, we returned last night and I was able to just log in and issue payment this morning. Jamie texted me to make sure we returned on time and that additional services weren't needed. I would highly recommend Happy Pets. Happy Pets is great! Jamie has been our dog walker for the past year and then we slowly transitioned to Aliza and Natasha as the business grew. They are all fabulous, friendly, and truly loving towards my dog, Austin. They send report cards via email after they've completed their walk and my last report card they even sent a picture too. It is so nice to be able to get a real time report card so I can know that my pup is safe and happy while I'm at work. We have had Jamie stay for an overnight weekend pet sitting when we had to go away unexpectedly and she sent us regular texts/pics to update us on Austin. He was very happy and obviously well taken care of when we got home. Awful, left apt door unlocked and we were robbed of $1000s of dollars in jewelry. Not too long after this event, which we have never received any apology or any kind of feeling that jaime gives a rats ass mind you, the asshole employee who left our door unlocked got promoted. Either your employee was too stupid to figure out how to properly lock a door, or she did it on purpose to get a taste on the score. This company should be thrown in the garbage, you put all ur faith in someone being able to take care of ur pet and KEEP YOUR HOME SECURE and instead not only do they do the opposite but they make it obvious they dont care how badly they fucked up. This company is the worst ever, customer is always right unless they get robbed of everything thats worth anything that they own but they are not responsible for that, not even a meaningful "im sorry" or follow up call about our situation, nothing. My husband and I took our first vacation in several years over the Christmas holiday. We were worried about how our newly adopted, somewhat emotional cat would be taken care of over a full week while we were out of town. Happy Pets made our vacation so much less stressful than it could have been--our sitter, Michael, visited our cat twice a day at home, and through Pet Cloud, we even received notes after each visit. Prior to our departure, Jamie visited our home and took thorough notes on all of our cat's needs, where supplies were located, and how their services work. She even offered some behavioral advice! Just wanted to update my review to include overnight sitting! Jessica and Lauren are typically the walkers who stay overnight with our pup when we can't take her out of town with us. On top of just being super reliable and trustworthy for normally scheduled overnight sits, Jamie/Lauren/Jessica have come to the rescue on several occasions for emergency overnight sits. Last October my really fun in-laws waited until we were in Thailand to let us know that they wouldn't be coming over to take care of our dog after all. After panicking in our hotel room, we emailed Lauren (Jamie was on vacation) and she assured us that she would do whatever she had to do to make sure our pup would be taken care of, despite our super last minute needs. She was really sweet through our constant panicky texts and literally saved our vacation, as we were about to just get in a plane and fly back if it weren't for her. Fast forward to this past February, one of the Happy Pets girls had already stayed a couple of nights at our house while we were in Canada, and our flight back got cancelled last minute due to weather. This tine Jamie jumped in and made sure that our pup had someone to stay with her until we were finally able to get home 24 hours later. Jamie always makes sure to get confirmation of your return home, before assuming a pet sit is complete, which is really nice. We're at the point where we'd much rather pay Happy Pets to stay overnight with our furbaby and not have to stress about her being taken care of properly, than ask family or friends to do it for free. So if you're going out of town and need a sitter, Happy Pets is your best option! read more
