Chanel did state she usually does not offer tastings, but would make an exception. There was a $15 tasting fee for the items I picked, which would be added to the total balance if I did purchase a desserts package from her. I had decided to try macarons, cookies, and popcorn, and donuts. I had emailed her our flavor choices. My fiance and I were very excited to meet with her, since she was kind enough to bake goods we preferred to try, not just what was available. She has no storefront, as a lot of vendors don't, and it helps to keep prices low. We met at a Starbucks which wasn't a problem with me. Despite her kids-birthday-party-friendly desserts, I was still interested in what she could offer, however my follow-up questions were never answered. She did email me back, stating she would get back to me. Three weeks later, nothing. Spam folder checked, nothing. I was interested in booking with her if she made sure she could provide fair-style ring donuts. The planning process was also frustrating due to the coordinator repeatedly changing the scheduled rehearsal time. This made it difficult for everyone involved to plan accordingly and created unnecessary confusion and stress leading up to the wedding. On the day of the wedding, the DJ did not properly announce the newlyweds when they made their entrance, which was disappointing and took away from what should have been a very special moment. We also found the coordinator to be very unprofessional and unhelpful when we asked questions about the setup and how things were being arranged. The biggest issue, however, was the temperature inside the hall. With approximately 100 people in the space, it was extremely hot and remained around 80°F. When we brought the issue to the coordinator's attention, she repeatedly stated that the AC was already set as low as possible. Unfortunately, the room remained uncomfortably warm throughout the event. We understand that not everything goes perfectly at an event, but we expected better communication, professionalism, organization, and attention to the comfort of the guests--especially for a wedding. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience, and we hope the venue takes this feedback seriously and makes improvements for future events.
