They are NOT some generic, corporate outlet. They ARE a family-owned business with a wide selection and outstanding service. Ask for Doug if you're shopping for boots. He knows everything. My teen wanted a pair of cowboy books and I had no idea where to begin. I asked around and searched the internet but really, you need someone with expertise. We went a couple of other places and everyone we met was a new hire. At High Country we found people with deep experience. Doug took care of us. He had repaired boots for decades before moving to the sales side. He had thoughtful, first-hand insights about boot construction, durability, and repair. He patiently answered every question we had to make sure we found the right fit for what we needed. Can't wait to go back when my other kids are ready for a pair. They offer boots on a wide range of price points and styles. They can tell why things cost what they do and what is worth paying for. Everybody's feet are different and every boot maker is a little different so you really can't order online. If they pinch or chafe you're not going to end up wearing them no matter how cool or cute they look. Going into the shop let us get the right boot the first time around. They should last for decades.
