I wish wish wish wish I had done more research!!!…read more The installation of the canvas was originally supposed to be the week after July 4th by the 8th at the latest.  We paid half of the total bid back in May and were told we would be kept informed of progress.   We were patient and basically left them alone for weeks to pull this together for installation.  They made it clear from the beginning that we needed to be here when they did the installation  I explained to them that i did not need to come to Fort Pierce if it wasn't ready to install because I had a lot going on with my business at home. Twice they postponed installation because they were running behind and that was ok with me.   The last week of July Miranda assured us that the canvas was " ready" and would be installed Saturday 8/9/25.  We traveled 14 hrs to Fort Pierce. Saturday & Sunday came and went with no installation due to weather conditions (supposedly) late in afternoon. The weather was fine most of the day until the afternoon. We suggested that they not come so late in the afternoon as the weather seemed to be worse at that time.  My wife texted Miranda @ 7:30 Monday morning that skies were clear and no wind. Miranda texted back she had surgery @ 12:00 which would take several hours that y'all would come later in the day.  My wife called Miranda for clarification as we were planning to head home Tuesday morning. When my wife told me of this delay I called Brant. He was irate, rude and stated that he was sick of us bothering him and said "I'm coming over right now to get this straightened out" and hung up on me.  30 minutes later they showed up @ 10:30 obviously angry. Miranda stormed through the sliding doors and slammed it shut.  My wife asked what was going on that she was supposed to have surgery at 12:00. Miranda said without slowing down " well obviously y'all have to get this done this morning " and & proceeded up the steps to the flybridge and slammed that door. Neither of them spoke another word until they were leaving @ 11:35 after installing the aft cover and 2 windows. Miranda said they would be back Monday evening to finish. Miranda later texted and said she needed to rest after surgery it was more intense than she thought it would be. They didn't come back Monday, so we said Tuesday morning would be fine. Tuesday morning came and they arrived to "install" and put on the Bimini top on and said you'd be back to "finish" around 6pm.  They arrived @ 6:30 and we went to eat dinner and returned about 8:30 or 9pm. They were still on the flybridge with plastic measuring for front panels and sides. Miranda rolled up the plastic and left. Brant stated hed be back the next morning. We were on the flybridge the next morning drinking coffee and didn't see any zippers for side enclosures to attach so my wife texted, then called Miranda. Miranda said she told me last night that they were having to come back AFTER Brant made the panels (Wednesday) to get the Bimini so you could sew on the zippers but that would be tomorrow mid afternoon.  Miranda didn't talk to me that night before she left, she rolled up the plastic with measurements and got off the boat and left the dock.  Brant remained on the boat a few more minutes talking saying hed be back Wednesday morning .      The canvas was not ready for installation by Saturday as we were promised and even as of Wednesday was is not ready.  This whole mess could have been avoided if they had just said they weren't done yet. It was a waste of my time that week. When my wife asked Miranda if y'all would be completely done tomorrow she said that was the plan  but at this point I couldn't depend on that. We paid $11k in May which is half of the quoted bid. The aft enclosure bid was $5645.52 and that is installed finally on Monday.. The Bimini is on the rails but with no zippers.  The Flybridge bid was $16,597.05, I had more than paid for what is on the boat at that time and obviously they hadn't made the rest of it.      The security guard was on the dock Tuesday night on his electric bike in front of the boat as they were packing up to leave the boat. He asked Karen what company was doing the work so late at night. Wednesday morning she was in the office and they asked who was making our enclosure. She told them and they told her you are not on their list to do work at the marina. We asked them before we moved the boat to City Marina if they were allowed to do work there and you said that they could.        We have never been treated like they treated us before with such disregard for our time for you to have been so hostile We fired them on 8/13/25 and stated we no longer want to do business with them dba Canvas Works, they no longer had permission to board our boat.  We have hired another company to complete the job. Today 9/25/25 my neighbor sent me a picture where the Bimini is blown half off. Don't know why yet.

After a couple of weeks of no comunication , causes, or estimates requests for approval to do work. I called the shop i believes its the owners girl friend. Explained i have heard nothing about my boat. She stated she would talk to Russ. Either she ( Barb) or Russ would get right back with me. About another week or more passes. No word from Offshore. I called them again to try and get the status of my boat. I was told by Barb that the company they order parts from was hacked by hacker using ransomware no telling when i could get parts for my boat. I waited a week or two. Not sure of exact time. I called and left a message on offshores voice mail. Stating i would like to continue doing business with them but if they could get the part by July the 4th i was going to pick up my boat. The following day Russ called my home. He told me in a hostile voice to come and pick up my boat today. I explained the soonest time i could pick it up was Thursday June 29/23. About 5 days later. He again demanded i come and pick up my boat today. I said i couldn't. I live about 90 miles from his shop. I did pick up my boat on Thursday as promised. I was very disatisfied with the personal service received and communication. I will never do business with them again. If i coulld give them less than one star. It would be minus stars.

About two years ago, I decided to relocate my 35 foot Fountain to Florida so I could take advantage of the warmer climate and use it more than just three months of the year. Being over one thousand miles away makes it very difficult for me to do anything on the boat myself. It is extremely important for me to have a marine facility that can maintain, store, and transport the boat for me. Since I have been using them, they have exceeded all my expectations. They have safely transported my boat to variety of different ports including Miami, West Palm Beach, and Key West. The boat has always been delivered on time and ready to go upon my arrival. In addition, OPM is very accommodating. On my recent boating experience from Key West to Miami, the weather took a turn for the worst. The sees became impassable about half way through the trip and thunderstorms encompassed the entire eastern coast of Florida. OPM arranged for a different pickup location upon a moments notice and transported the boat an additional 90 miles back to their facility. I was extremely happy to be out of the rain that day and to know the boat is safely stored at OPM. BG
