Visiting from Orlando, we decided to spend time on the water yesterday. Taking a 2-hour kayak tour with Chris, owner of Paddles By the Sea, was a perfect decision. His easy going manner yet attention to details such as asking "Do you need some sunscreen?" and "We have the latest kayak launch system in the industry" illustrate the care he demonstrated to my husband and me. His business started with paddle boards and although I've been paddle boarding for a few years I can't wait to take a lesson from him using my own equipment! In addition to having an awesome morning on the intercostal waterway and circling the spoils islands, we made a new friend! Hats off to Chris and his we'll run business. We rented a boat first and had so much fun that we decided to take paddleboards out after. We saw so many dolphins and manatee, it's definitely a must-do if you're anywhere near the area! What an amazing service and team. We rented the cabana for a few days and it was a game changer. We had plenty of shade, chairs, and towels. The guys did a great job making sure we had everything we needed. We rented a kayak one day and a skim board a few days also. My teen boys had a great time learning thanks to all the time the staff gave them teaching them how to skim board. OF all the things we decided to do over the 4 days we were down there, this by far was the smartest choice and gave our 4 kids much more beach time (and the parents space to relax). I'm visiting Vero from NJ and asked a friend of mine for a paddle board rental recommendation and he referred me to Chris at Paddles by the Sea. I'm so glad I ended up going with his recommendation for my first paddle boarding experience! I came with my brother and his girlfriend, neither of whom had paddle boarded before either and we all had a great time. Paddles by the Sea is located right behind Riverside Cafe so it's very easy to find. Chris has a wide array of paddle boards and kayaks to choose from and he has a safe to hold your belongings. He gave us helpful instructions on how to properly paddle and stand up and where we should paddle to see dolphins and find smooth waters. I would highly recommend using Chris at Paddles by the Sea for paddle board or kayak rentals and plan to come back again when I return in March. read more

We had a great time paddling around this area. We had the kayak rental for an hour and wished we had reserved it for 2. Plenty of good wildlife; a turtle, pelicans and an osprey fishing and one collecting sticks for a nest. The attendant that helped us was friendly and helpful. We'll go back! read more

We rented 3 paddle boards and a kayak on an early Sunday morning. Check-in was easy (build in some time to fill out i-pad paperwork, it was easy just took 5mins) Christian helped us at the dock and he couldn't have been more friendly and patient with us, giving us safety tips and quick tutorial for paddle boards. The staff in the bait shop were great too! There was a place to store your car keys & shoes on the dock. We had enough time to go around two coves and back with lots of wildlife sightings. I would highly recommend using them for a fun excursion especially if you have teenagers. read more

We decided to go kayaking today and found Paddles By the Sea on Yelp. I called and spoke to Chris who made our reservation and we headed to their location. They are located at the end of a private dock behind the Riverside Cafe. We only saw one sign, so it was a good thing I watched the video on their website on how to find them! John gave us great directions on where to go and got us launched. We had a great time and the cost was very reasonable. Plan to go back for a tour and to do some paddle boarding. read more

Horrible communication and do not recommend! Called, informed that we wanted to book a snorkeling tour. The gentleman at the main number was great-- super helpful, polite and very encouraging. I was ready to book a snorkel tour for 3 people! The message was relayed to the person in charge, and he did call and leave a message. I called back 4 times, indicating our interest and wanting to solidify the plans. I received no return phone call. Finally, on Thursday I called the office again (the snorkeling trip was supposed to be 2 days later), explained my situation and asked the gentlemen that I spoke to please have someone Let me know if this could be accommodated, and if not, I would go elsewhere. He was very polite, apologetic, etc. He promised someone would call me back. They did not. I have now invested six phone calls to no avail and do not find this group to be reliable or professional. They might grow into a great tour company but until they learn the basics of customer service, they will be nothing more than a bunch of guys with umbrellas and boards. Until they work out their kinks, I would recommend staying away and using a different company in the area with a longer history of service. Unbelievably disappointed in this group. read more

Chris and Brent were fabulous! They were patient, informative and a joy to talk to. We were able to break away from the group to explore on our own and enjoyed every minute. It was my husbands first time, so Brent took time to explain and offer slight corrections. We saw some marine life, but we enjoyed the exercise and time on the water. We highly recommend! read more

Great time at Round Island. Our first time paddle boarding and although manatees were shy today we did see a baby and one large one from a distance. Weather was perfect and Chris, our guide couldn't have been nicer. A nice mellow way to see the mangroves and learn a sport. read more
