I wasn't aware that there were pedi tiers available until my friend got offered a menu. So I got the basic and it was fine with me. Add-ons such as hot stones /paraffin wax / masks are available for an upgrade. My tech didn't talk much which was perfect bc it was relaxing. I had a basic manicure with gel polish and she added a simple chic design on one nail free of charge. She was gentle, thorough, and friendly. Worst experience ever at a nail salon! The woman took over an hour and 15 mins to do my nails and cut me several times! Had my guy friend with me to get his first pedicure ever !!! Called around noon to advise we were coming and wanted the pedicure and nails done at the same timeframe for me and him... he waited over an hour another woman walks in and they take her immediately for a pedicure as he had been waiting all this time ! I would just like to start by saying that I've been going here since high school. The ladies who've done my nails pay extra care to make sure I get the look that I want. If you're looking to get a gel or acrylic mani, you're in your bag. Ombré, glitter, designs... they got you. This time I got the SNS and uh.. I don't love it. I don't know everything when it comes to shaping dip powder nails but I feel like the guy who had me could've done a better job on my middle fingers. It looks a bit too thick in person. My experience at Fashion Nails was by far the best experience I've had at a nail salon. I was taking my mom out for her birthday, and she has a condition that requires her to need assistance from a walker and sometimes other people to get around. As soon as we walked in the door, the staff was really accommodating. They helped her into her chair and made sure she was comfortable. They also talked to her and didn't rely on me to figure out what she wanted, which is what I've come to expect from most salons as well as other businesses. She really appreciates that. Brittany was her manicurist, and she did an awesome job. My mom had smudged the polish on her big toe twice while we were in there and she did not hesitate to fix it for her and was in good spirits the entire time. Here I go again updating a review - my first review was from visit #1. I have since been back two additional times. I think visit one was a turn off due to the salon + food + dog. I LOVE dogs, but not combined w/ food or salons. Last night I felt a little annoyed. I went in for my pedicure and manicure to release my annoyance. They did my nails and feet at the same time. Some might not like that, but it really saves a lot of time and the lady did ask first. Second, they now offer a $10 "mini facial" in conjunction w/ pedicures. I didn't expect much for a $10 facial, but it was relaxing and worth the extra money. Don't get me wrong - it's not like a real facial, but she cleaned my face, put on a cool mask, and then used some light lotion. Today I went there I had been going there for a while until today all had been going good but today all went wrong and I won't be going back my nails looks horrible my nails are uneven and bubbling already and look nasty. The tech that did my nails didn't listen to what I said at all then proceeded to start talking to his boss in their native language and when i said I understood what they were they saying they stopped and began to speak English again real quick. I'm sick of these places thinking just because we're American that we don't know their talking about us like their stupid. This place is horrible and I soon will not be going back. So this was my first time receiving services from Fashion nails. One of my Soror's referred me here and told me to ask for Nikki. I arrived when they opened @9 along with my BF to get pedicures for our cruise. He was served 1st as I waited for Nikki. When she came in she told me she was booked up for the day so I would have to wait until the next person came in 5mins which was fine ( but I wish I knew they took appointment otherwise I would have as well most nail places around here do not). Well 5mins turned into 40 grrr and when he came in he tried to make me wait for the lady to finish my BF pedi and she would take care of me instead of him... UHHH NO LOL. Decided on this salon because it was closer than locations in Richmond. Sadly, I will not be returning. The staff was extremely nice and sat me down in a chair immediately, but the attention to detail during my pedicure was poor. 2 hours after walking out, I can already see bubbles on the top layer, my cuticles are covered in polish, and my pinky toes are not even fully covered in polish. The girl who did my pedicure couldn't understand me when I asked her not to cut my cuticles and seemed to be a trainee still. She cut too much on my big toes and hurt me, and split them. The guy who did my pedicure was hilarious and ok at hombre dip. Too thick and I got some air by my cuticles unfortunately. Don't think I'll return. read more

I know part of the sales job is to up sell but I don't appreciate being told I made a bad choice when I decide not to go with gel when that product doesn't match my lifestyle. I also was told that oval nails were not nice (it's what I like!) and that I'm being difficult for requesting what I want when you're performing a service for me. At the end of the day, he didn't take his time (no push back of my cuticles, used a drill when I requested not, burned through my nail beds, and sloppy paint application). Sooooooooo disappointed. I got a pedicure and a manicure (without paint) after I saw how my pedicure turned out. I had a split in the layers of my first toe nail and instead of smoothing and buffing it out it was just directly painted over. Now that I think about it I do not believe a top coat was even applied either! When putting on my flip flops the worker smudged my pinky toenail and proceeded to throw some paint overtop instead of restarting it. My manicure was then began with lukewarm/cool water. Cuticle cream was not applied before cutting at my cuticles with the tool and my fingernails are not evenly rounded. II foresee my toe nail paint chipping very soon. Pretty disappointed overall after closer inspection upon leaving. Update: The paint on my toenails chipped after 1 DAY! AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST. read more

Took my daughter in to get her toes and nails done. We were told by the male owner it would be a 30 minute wait and then she would be next. While waiting another lady arrived with her two daughters and they were also told 30 minute wait. Then the owner received a call from a lady that supposedly an appointment to come on knowing there was already a wait. Good god, I don't even know where to start. I had to make myself wait a day to write a review because I was sooooo annoyed with this place! I was on my way from NC to MD and wanted to freshen up my nails and I like to stop in Petersburg for a midway break. I used yelp to find this spot and based on reviews, I came to FN instead of the one listed closer to the highway. BIG, FAT, HUGE mistake. I've honestly never seen my nails look so bad and if I can figure out how to upload the pictures, I'm sure you'll agree. The first visit on Monday 6/23, was not horrible, the only problem was that the nail tech cut one of my cuticles. I got a regular mani/pedi and for a million years, that's all I've ever gotten, so for whatever reason, after she painted my nails with regular polish, she put a coat of clear gel shellac on top. She said so it would last longer. Usually my polish lasts about a week because I'm not hard on my nails. I wait a while, she tells me I can go, I get in the car, and for the next 3 hours to baltimore, just drive and you would think the nails would be perfectly set.... I get in the house and realize when i picked up my bag, two of the nails had scraped off half the polish on my right hand. I can only assume that the regular polish was not dry before she applied the gel?? Throughout the night and the next day almost all my right polish comes off the top half of my nails and a couple of the left ones. I couldn't believe they looked SOOOO bad! I was so disappointed because I wanted them to look extra nice for my visit and they looked horrible. I decided that on the way home yesterday, I would stop in and ask them to fix them and this is where I was completely shocked. I walk in with my receipt from two days prior, nicely explain and show her my nails and the manager, Teresa gets really rude and says that regular polish doesn't last as long as shellac. I say I know that, but i've never had polish just slide off and shouldn't it last 24 hours. She continues to insist it was my fault and when I tell her that the girl put shellac on wet polish, she finally yells at one guy to repaint my nails. She tells me to pick my color, which of course is not on the wall when I look. When I tell her I don't see it, and ask if it could be somewhere else, she again gets an attitude and yells "just pick another color, the bottle could have broken or something"... a young lady working gets up and helps me find a similar color and she was the only nice person this day. (I gave her a couple dollars on my way out and thanked her for being helpful and sweet) The guy that soaks my nails does not speak the entire time until he comes over and realizes that he has used the wrong stuff and ended up using the dremel tool to get the rest of the polish off. When I asked him for the lady's name that I dealt with, he says she is the nicest manager ever and everyone loves teresa. I said you must not have heard how she spoke to me. His suggestion was that maybe she was tired of people coming in. By that response, you might assume it was late in the evening or closing time, but no, this was 12:30 in the afternoon. He did tell me that the tech that helped me me monday no longer works there and she has had a lot of customers complain about her. When he is done with my nails, the cuticles are all dry and gross looking because of the sanding tool, the polish is bubbly and I can't believe the experience I've had. Worst customer experience ever. If I could give zero stars, I would. read more

I was hesitant to get my nails done here because of that one horrible review and the fact that I was just nervous to go to anyone other than my usual lady, but I ended up having a great experience! I got a Fill on my gel manicure (previously done in Hawaii) from a guy with lots of tattoos. Sorry, I didn't get his name so this was the most obvious way to describe him if you want to go to the same person. He was really meticulous and didn't rush it at all which I appreciate since fills are typically cheaper and most people want you in and out. The cost was under $24. I'm only visiting but if I were staying longer, I would definitely go back to Fashion Nails without a worry. :) read more

Well I wasn't expecting to spend 72$ just for a basic pedicure (from 23$ to 27$???) 35 for a fill and gel polish and 10 for brows (I wanted coffin nails) I told her that and she just couldn't file it right to save her life. I never had to tell a nail tech so many times how to file. Like you really was going to have me leave your establishment with crooked nails?? Not even coffin. I'm so disappointed. You guy keep changing management for a reason huh. I had to say no twice with painting my finger nails a color I didn't want . You still paint a second nail until I said no the 2nd time.
