I decided to get a Frosty foe my drive. I went down a path I shouldn't've, and ended up completely stuck in bit of a swamp. 911 sent me Billy Lemaster but I really thought my car wasn't coming out. Well, Billy saved me from the muck around 11pm, in the pouring rain and dark. He was extremely nice and helpful. He didn't treat me like the idiot I am, and he even let me hug him. 10/10. Oh, the frosty melted before I could get to it.

We decided to come South back through eastern Kentucky back through Johnson City Tn. and back home to North Alabama. All at once all the gauges died on our truck and about 2 miles and we are sitting on the side of a road just outside of a town called Louisa, and I didn't even know what highway it was without looking on GPS and I google a towing service and I was blessed that Billy's number was the first one came up. I called him on Sunday afternoon about 1230- 1:00 pm and told him I needed a to get to an auto parts store to purchase a battery so we could get on our way. All the time thinking that I had a bad alternator. Instead of him taking advantage of an old man stranded and towing me as I ask, he offered to bring me a battery. He was there in about 30 minutes. After that he checked my alternator and yes it was not charging. He followed me to Auto Zone with the new battery in and when we got there told me that he was going to put me on an alternator. His brother came and helped with the installation of the alternator and they had me back on the road in less than an hour. Instead of taking advantage of me, they were only going to charge me $70.00 to come bring me a battery, get me off the side of the road, install and alternator and on top of that took the new battery back and put my old battery back in because there was nothing wrong with it. How blessed I was that God worked it out so I called Billy. Just reinforced what I already knew, that there are good people left in the world. Thank you Billy for your kindness and your help and tell your brother thank you too. You fella's were the best.

Found myself making an unplanned trip to Frenchburg. Now Frenchburg is a little off the main…read moreinterstate so it took some gas to get there and back. As my trip was unplanned I had to stop someplace on US 460 to gas up. Now there are 3 little towns along 460 between Frenchburg and Mt.Sterling. ( Means, Jeffersonville and Camargo) Each have there own distinct personalities as communities. All are filled with great people. So I zip into Means Food Mart. Gas pumps are pay inside only. When I walked in the place had your typical Convenience Mart fair, so I got a soft drink and went to pay for my gas. The place was filled with a happy and energetic lunch crowd. Folks were being served soup, chili, sandwiches etc.. I decided what the heck its lunch time the health department food score on the front door was a 95 out of 100 I would try the place. Now you have to understand every community has there own culture. When I was in Athens Greece a few years back I did not expect the same type of food as you would get in say New York. Well Means Kentucky is different from Lexington. I started off with wheat bread. Nope ain't a gonna get it at the Means Food Mart. Strictly white bread and white bread only. You want a sandwich? Then it is served on white bread like everyone knows it should be. Well ok not a fan of what white bread does to the body but alas it does taste good so white bread it is. I really wanted to go with the cheese loaf but hey got to think nutritionally so I am sacrificing on the white bread I will have to play it safe and go with the Turkey. Now Means might be white bread only but apparently you get your choice of Turkey. Got your plain regular Turkey or you can live a little and get the Cajun Turkey. Well now ain't that something. I have traveled the globe and never had Cajun Turkey so you guessed it I got the Cajun. I had them dress the sandwich as per my likes and it was wonderful. They served the sandwich in special to go bags and when I got back I enjoyed a slice of Louisiana via Means Kentucky. The staff was clean and friendly and I look forward to my next stop in Means to try more of their food. Maybe I can stay awhile and get some of that soup next time!
