Sadly, it looks like this store has gone the way of all flesh. I had developed a relatively…read morefriendly acquaintanceship with the owner Ed over the years that I've shopped here, but I knew business wasn't good. Like the old video-rental stores, camera shops specializing in 35mm photography seem in danger of becoming extinct. This particular establishment was a hold out, and I had hoped (as I expressed in the initial review) that it would continue on in spite of the odds (when I first started patronizing it, it was located on the opposite side of this shopping center, which is directly across the street from where the old Flea Market used to be...I used to buy a lot of bootleg Sex Pistols and NY Dolls albums there back in the day...but I digress...). I've abandoned my 35mm camera in favor of I-Phone and Smart-Phone photography, but I still came to this store on occasion because they sold Pioneer 12 x 12 EZ-Load "Memory Book" photo albums and their ancillary refills, which are pretty hard to come by (I collect autographed 8 by 11 "movie star" photographs, as well as blow-ups of my old photographs, and copies of original family photographs that my genetic family has been generous enough to lend to me). The proprietor, Ed, was always very friendly and upbeat, but also frank. He indicated that rents in the area were very, very high, and that there wasn't enough business to support such high rents. Still, he seemed determined to hang on, and I was glad to see his persistence. A few months ago, though, I stopped here, and the store was closed. A sign indicated that Ed had had surgery and would return when he had recuperated. I had an ominous feeling about it. As my late grandmother used to say, and say with unnerving frequency, "Live in hope; die in despair." (And people wonder why I'm so gloomy? But, anyway...) I returned today. The signs are all gone; the store is dark and empty. Everything has been removed. I feel bad, as I felt when Camera One of Morristown (I had been a regular patron there from the days when I first got into photography and they had their store at Olcott Square, Bernardsville) closed its doors. I haven't been patronizing Shutterbug Ed's for as long as I patronized Camera One, but he was a good guy struggling to make a living and provide quality service in a business that seems to be unfortunately heading in the direction of video-rental and independent bookstores. Ed was a decent, hard-working guy, and I wish him well.

Had a horrible experience with such a nasty old man, presumably the owner. I went in to buy trash…read morestickers and asked if I could please have a plastic bag because it was raining and he said "I don't make money off of these so no. You can put these in your purse though, they fold, can you handle that?" I was so taken aback, he has such a nasty and condescending attitude. Try to avoid this place if you can.

I met Carla several years ago playing tennis together. I learned she had a design business, and…read morekept that in mind as we were considering redoing our master bathroom. Several years later we decided to reach out to Carla for her opinion on a redesign of our 1990's bathroom. Carla came up with a great design to maximize and enhance the space, including a jetted tub and larger shower. Working with Carla was easy and she asked great questions to make us think about what we really needed and wanted. Carla also helped us avoid costly mistakes. She came up with some great solutions for our backsplash, counters, tiles, and hardware. The trades she recommended were also very good to work with. I would not hesitate to recommend Carla to others and use her in the future for any redesign projects.

We are very happy we chose Carla Gaeta, owner of Gemini Design Group, to design our new kitchen and…read moreto serve as general contractor. Carla gave us the kitchen we had imagined only better. Carla spent significant time with us listening carefully, evaluating our space, answering questions, and offering suggestions. The planning process was thorough and all estimates were on point. Carla brings 30 years' experience in design and construction to the process. She worked to make us happy, but stood her ground when what we asked was not a good idea. From planning through execution, her communication was superb. Questions were answered quickly. We always knew what to expect and when subcontractors would be at our job. Her subcontractors did excellent work and were a pleasure to have in our home. Carla personally checked on each day's work, ensuring that all aspects were up to her very high standard. As with any construction project, not everything went perfectly. Carla stepped in as our advocate with suppliers, always exhibiting grace under pressure to ensure delays were minimized. Her mantra is, "There is always a solution!" Then there is the "above and beyond" aspect of working with Gemini Design Group. Carla noticed the step from the kitchen into the garage was too high thus a bit dangerous. It had always been that way so over 20 years we had become used to it. Being comfortable with picking up tools to make things right, Carla designed and built a proper step into our garage. We are grateful to have found Carla Gaeta of Gemini Design Group. You can place your trust in her to deliver a beautiful, functional kitchen, bath, or both! In fact, Gemini will be starting work on our main bathroom very soon.
