2 hours for a urinalysis ? Scan a paper, go to bathroom... that shouldn't take 2 hours. What a joke.

Long wait for a simple shot but the nurse was very friendly. The place is just understaffed and maybe I came on an unusually busy day.

Everyone from the ladies at the front desk (Traci and Tracey), the nurse Liz and the doctor were all great!

We were comfortable sitting in the arrival lounge because the waiting area had people talking very loudly. They made us move anyway, which really makes no sense. They have you sign documents without even having a chance to read. I think they should give you a copy of whatever you sign for, if you want one but they don't. Registration is in the medical mall on the other side of the complex. Plenty of parking out front because it's pretty empty. The area looks new. It's very clean and the chairs are comfortable. 4 stars based on the inability to get a copy of signed documents. I don't feel comfortable signing a document for someone else when I can't read it or know what it entails. Also because the volunteers out front make you change seats even when you request to stay where you are and the place is otherwise empty and no one else is coming in. Nursing staff was great and so was the doctor. Tammy was fabulous.

I arrived and things were great where I checked in and I was then taken to the examination area. At first I saw a nurse and then a doctor who ordered an X Ray and after the X Ray was taken I did not see a nurse , doctor or anyone else. Despite being in pain I was left alone with my Wife. After over an hour my wife opened the door and tried to get someone's attention. After about 15 minutes of hearing people laughing and having a good time by the nurses station my wife asked forassistance and was told someone would be there shortly. Over an hour later no one came. After complaining again my wife returned to my room. A few minutes later a man apeared ( I assume he was a male nurse) and gave me discharge papers and told me a prescription for lidocan patches. as I was told tha x ray showed no broken bones or ribs. Although I was in excruciating pain I was not given anything else. I even had to remove the cuff from the blood pressure from my arm as no one took it off. That night I could not lay downnor sleep and ended up at my primary care doctor the next day who prescribed a muscle relaxer and a pain pill to help my try and get some sleep. its 3 weeks and despite some minor pain under my right shoulder blade I'm on the mend. My wife filed a complaint and today I received a certified letter telling me the investigated it and found it to be appropriate. And deemed my pain level to have been a 3. If this is appropriate I would highly recommend finding another place to go if you are injured or sick. Upon being checked out the nurses station was empty and the physcian who ordered my x ray never lifted his head to ask me if I was doing and better etc. Seems the Grivence committee is one-sided and never called me for an interview before determining their standards were met. If this is an example of their standards I would not recommend taking anyone there for treatment and drive where ever I had to get treated properly . Ted D. Gibsonville NC

After over a week spent in the hospital I can say that the nursing staff in general was very good…read more Most of them listened to what your concerns are but their hands are tied. Every part of your care is managed by a different department and they don't always communicate so it's very tough to know what's going on if you don't have access to mychart. The rooms were made without any real thought about practicality. They have huge cabinets that take up space that no one even uses. You have to move one bed and all the furniture in the room to get another in or out. That means waking people up in the middle of the night and slamming things into spaces and bathrooms and then bribing them back out. The alarm system went on the blitz and you have Vietnam veterans being forced to hear sirens that sound like air raids having their ptsd triggered. I'm glad they did finally move them to a room far away from the problem but the faulty system went unfixed for over 24 hours. You could not get away from the noise anywhere on the floor. Who wants to listen to sirens and alarms every 5 minutes for 24 hours straight. Who can possibly get any kind of sleep? Now for anyone visiting or going in the hospital. They have one small area for visitors. The back two lots are for valet. That leaves no place for anyone to park unless you park in the neighboring lot for the other building. There was a car parked in two handicapped spaces for 3 days and 4 nights in front of the main entrance but it wasn't tagged or towed. That wasted an entire parking space because of their inconsideration. There's one walkway on the left side coming from the lot for the other building and from the right side of the hospital lot. Problem is, at the end of the walkway and at the turn to the entrance, that's where the wheelchairs are parked for their rides. There's a white rail and a super tight spot to walk though or around with a walker or wheelchair. But you can't go that way because of all the people blocking the sidewalk and the white rail at the side door blocking. You're forced to go out into the street and around where the cars are waiting for valet or for people being picked up. Major safety concern. The valet stand is right there with a bench behind it. They also have a large fan there and a mat for the valet stand itself. That takes up space making it hard for a walker or wheelchair. Whoever designed it didnt take into consideration the people who have special needs or disabilities. They really need to reevaluate the entrance and where they have the valet stand and the people having to walk into the street to get to the entrance. Someone is liable to get hit by one of the cars or trampled by the people rushing to get out when it's raining. The phones in the rooms do not dial outside of the area code. You need to call the operator but have to call and follow prompts for that. It's just as if you're dialing the hospital from home. Dialing zero does not take you to anyone but it takes you to the main switch options to dial. The rooms don't have the direct numbers listed anywhere so someone calling in has to call the operator to be connected. Food service has to be called or they send whatever they want to. Twice they didnt sent sky silverware or drinks. One good thing is they put the numbers for each nurse assigned to you. You can call them directly if you need anything. Discharge takes a long time. They ordered medication the pharmacy couldn't fill. And it was just "oops, you need to call your doctor" when they were informed. You want me to go on a new medication plan that I have no access to. Not good. I personally would not want to be staying here if I had an option as an inpatient. The surgeons and nurses were excellent in what they do, but the lack of communication made it so much worse than it needed to be. I felt I wasn't being heard more than 90% of the time until the very end. Spending over a week as an inpatient, I can't count how many times I wanted to just walk out and leave even knowing how badly it would have impacted my health. The communication was that bad. They let you go home without scheduling follow up appointments when they told you they would. They give you a plan of care and don't bother to give you the tools needed to follow it. They tell you to take meds knowing you can't get them for days because they're not in stock. Quite frankly, I would rather drive to Duke or call for an ambulance to transport me there unless this was my only option.
