Went to FastMed Urgent Care in Leland for a possible broken hand. The nurse who saw me never touched my hand or asked me where it hurt, but did take 3 x-rays. Nurse said no bones were broken. I don't believe a physician or a radiologist ever reviewed the xrays. A week later, hand still hurt and swollen. Could barely use it. Went to Raleigh Ortho and they viewed the xrays and, clear as day, it shows a broken bone. I don't recommend going here. There are no doctors onsight. read more

My baby daughter has some sort of a respiratory infection and I was hoping to get her checked out to make sure that she doesn't have RSV. Their website states that they do take walk-ins as well as appointments, so I called and talked to a receptionist who recommended we bring her in. Lo and behold, we drove 35 minutes and they refused to see her, stating that they were "appointment only" although that information was NEVER relayed to us on the phone or website. We know for a fact that we will not be coming back to this urgent care for any reason and will rather drive towards Wilmington for better care. I should have looked at the reviews because I'm, apparently, not the only one who has had this issue. There needs to be much better communication with the general public. read more

Front desk receptionist had zero manners. No, please or thank you. Not very comforting or personable at all. With her being the face of the facility (meaning the first and last person you interact with) you would think they would hire more compassionate people. On another note the nurse and doctor was the complete opposite. Very nice, respectful and compassionate, Just need to work on the receptionist's. Went at 4:45 when they close at 8 pm. He was told it would take 2.5 hours in An effort to get me to come back next day. Decided to wait and then they changed and said I couldn't and said I had to come back the next day (mind you over 3 hours before they close). I called and spoke to someone who said that they thought it was a 30 minute wait... Then they said they were pausing walk-ins for a minute...I mentioned that they have a 2 1/2 star rating, I could understand why, and the lady laughed at me. When I inquired why she was laughing, she said she completely understood what I was talking about. Apparently the problem is with the receptionist because even the others at the clinic empathize. Came in here yesterday. Made an appointment online and waited, maybe, 5 minutes. The front staff was very nice and when I was brought into the examination room, the Triage Nurse was awesome! Great personality, seemed to like her job and was very thorough. Next came the Provider, Brian, FNP Brian was more thorough than most MD's! Great personality, explained everything I needed to know and prescribed medicines I needed. Today, I feel so much better and relief from most symptoms. I am not sure why there are many negative comments on this site. read more

Brought my daughter in to be tested for strep and was given a time to come back in the afternoon. Came back at that time and sat in the waiting room for over an hour without being seen. Came in here to check for chicken pox...the doctor said I needed more blisters than what i have to consider me for medication. Said he will write me off a note to take off work but not prescribe me for anything spent 3 hours in here waste of time!!! Even the nurse said it was chicken pox! I went in to get a work physical. Online it said walk ins were available so that's what I did. The middle aged lady at the front desk with brown hair and glasses was speaking to a man in front of me. She was laughing with him, making jokes and being very friendly. As soon as the man walked away and she seen me her friendly attitude faded. She just looked at me, I said Hi i'm here to get a work physical. She snatched my document out of my hand and then said "give me your ID i'm gonna have to put you on the schedule for tomorrow" I gladly took my form back that she snatched and told her I will be going somewhere else. Rude and nasty. Should not be at the front desk with that attitude. read more

I have been here twice, and have always had fast friendly service. The doctors are very educated and well informed, my only suggestion would to arrive right when they open to avoid the wait. You can also file through your insurance here. I am very grateful this place exists, I have insurance through Novant yet every practitioner in a 50 mile radius is not taking new patients. read more

Fast med in Leland charged my 25 year old $35 copayment for a COVID-19 test , they requested his insurance card , he is covered, then 2 weeks later , they took $165 out of his bank account from the same debt card he used to pay co payment without permission, how does a Covid test cost $200 , when they were called about it , they said the insurance wouldn't pay , I thought test were free if you didn't have insurance, this was a month ago and never got money back , what a bunch of scammers, Do not recommend giving them any card , they are thieves!!! read more

To give this place one star is too much. I walked in asking to see a doctor for my eye infection. Receptionist asked if I have an appointment. I did not know I had to make an appointment. She responded "with the influx of COVID patients appointments are required". She offered me an appointment for Monday, this is Saturday. There was one person waiting. They should take down the signs for Walkins Welcome and Urgent Care. Because this is definitely not the case. This place should be closed because they don't practice what they offer. read more

The whole staff that helped me were very nice and knowledgeable. From the moment Madison greeted me at the desk to when Sheri and Brandon kindly helped me in my room. All the staff verbally showed me they knew what they were talking about and they all made small talk with me as well. Being on crutches, it was nice how they even held the door for me. Called in and Came to take a urine test for a job and waited a hour to be told it couldn't be done that day. Then had the flu and waited almost two hours and no one was there. I made an appointment and still waited over 1.5 hours before I got back into a room. Then, the (very nice and competent) nurse took my vitals and did triage and said the PA would be in shortly after one other patient he was seeing. Mind you, there was ONE other person in the waiting room only. After another 45 minutes, the PA came in and asked a bunch of the same questions that the nurse had asked - obviously hadn't even glanced at my chart- and then began giving me a verbal tutorial on how to find a participating provider through my insurance. He asked for my usual meds as I am new to the area and I told him, he didn't write a script for one of the main meds nor did he tell me he wasn't writing it- so I only noticed when I went to the pharmacy. Positives were the front desk people were pleasant, nice and efficient and the office was clean and the nurse. Negatives- the PA and his bedside manner, being condescending, and forgetting to write or communicate that he was not providing requested prescription, the overall running of the facility that would allow someone with an appointment to spend 3 hours waiting for treatment. read more

I just moved here and went there because I was having problems with women problems and they never did any test or lab work on my so now i have to go to the emergency room because they never did any test to see what was wrong so Im so sick I have to go to the emergency room tomorrow Im in so much pain. My daughter took a spill off of a 4 wheeler. We went to Fastmed on a Sunday because their hours and they can do x-rays. I thought it would be a long visit but it wasn't. Plus, everyone was very caring and professional. From the check (who helped us with a wheelchair) to the PA and Nurse (Sherry and Dayne.) They also had a great sense of humor. Don't waste your time with this place. The older lady at the front desk is extremely rude and unprofessional. I have never received my lab results. Luckily my primary care doctor was able to get them from LabCorp. This despite the fact that I called numerous times and asked for the results for an upcoming appointment with my doctor. Went in for a covid test! Left without getting one! Receptionist who wasn't wearing a mask spoke to a patient within 3 feet who also wasn't wearing a mask for a solid 15 minutes. The complete and utter lack of sanitation practices here blew me away! Receptionist handling tablets given to patients without the use of gloves after handling dozens of things at the desk including multiple id's given to her from people not wearing any kind of mask. Didn't see the sanitation of anything touched by multiple people even once. Even the doctor that looked to be doing these tests wasn't wearing gloves when she came out to lock the doors to ensure that they would close in time. Did not see receptionist wash or sanitize her hands 1 time in the 2+ hours I waited before becoming disgusted and leaving. For a company in the medical field to show such disregard for people's health is absolutely disgusting!!! read more

I got there right after opening to see four cars in the parking lot. I went inside and there was no one in the lobby. I was asked what was my check-in time I said I did not have one. The receptionist then tells me that they are by appointment only and their fully booked today. I said all I need was a covid test, she then say sorry we are only seeing people by appointment.these people forget we are paying them for a service for now on I choose the spend my money elsewhere. read more

First time ever being a patient in any Urgent Care. I called first to see their protocol. Was very pleased to have a kind and pleasant voice greeting me. When I got to FastMed there were a few patients waiting. I was again greeted by a nice and friendly person. Madison. She wore her mask but you can always tell when a person is smiling behind the mask. She was. She checked me in and kept me informed of my wait time. Asking if there was anything I needed. I was not in any rush as my accident happened 4 hours prior me going. Got in the back and Effie was just as amazing as Madison. She had her mask and smile going on. She talked while taking care of me. Dr. Frank T. came in with a great attitude and was just as pleasant, knowledgeable, friendly and caring. He took very great care of my needs. I was very, very pleased with FastMed! If you have to be there for any unfortunate issue, please be nice to them. They are there to help you. They have to deal with all kinds of problems. You are not the only one that has a health problem. They deserve a "thank you" from everyone. Two easy words. Even a 2 year old can say. read more

My husband had 3 people ahead of him in line. He was called back after 1 1/2 hours and waited another 1 1/2 hours in the examination room before he finally left without being seen. He told the doctor on the way out that he was leaving and the doctor said "ok". Worst service ever! read more

Just moved to the area and needed a doctor to help with a sinus infection. Staff here was great. Waited 30 minutes with no one in the office but I figured they had to input my personal and insurance info so wasn't concerned. Everything was great until I was billed. Total charges were $270. Won't see me here again. Will find a regular doctor for future needs. read more

We've been to this location twice, and both times I have been impressed with the efficiency, and friendliness, of the Dr.'s and staff.

We had just moved to the area and both of our little girls were sick. They were all really nice and extremely thorough. I would recommend this facility to anyone!!! My little girls felt very comfortable here. Note---there may be a bit of a wait but this facility takes walk ins and tries to help everyone. These people are away from their families in order to help the public. I think people should be patient and a little more understanding. read more
