Was sent to do a random drug test here got there about 8:20. Was greeted by a very nice Brogan Turner at the front desk. Waited about 25 minutes and the collector Barrett Stevens called me in somehow there was some screw up with the paperwork from my company's side. I was on the phone forever trying to get it fixed and finally Barrett called his corporate and got it handled for me. Took me an hour in traffic to get there and I was there for over an hour but he kept me laughing and put me in a better mood. The place is clean and the employees are friendly. I would definitely come here again if needed. I reccomend them. read more

My primary care doctor's office is about 30-45 minutes away from me so when I have an unexpected medical need, I will always come here. read more

This facility asks you to register online yet they ask you the same questions when you arrive making the wait even longer I signed in online yet. My wait time was over 30 minutes when the PA finally came in he looked in my sons throat and said that he could clearly see white blisters Yet this PA did not even test my son for strep throat which left untreated can be dangerous. Then he proceeds to leave the room to take a phone call and never returns. I open the door and I ask what should I do and the nurse says I was free to go. Excuse me free to go with blisters in my sons mouth OK I will be making an appointment with his regular doctor and I will never return to here. read more

From the moment I stepped in the doors I felt welcome! The receptionist and nurses were amazing and very knowledgeable !They were very punctual with my "save a spot" reservation. I went in with a cauterized cooking/knife wound & didn't know what to expect. Went in to get a rapid covid test. Receptionist was very nice. PA came in to let me know that my test was negative and then proceeded to lecture me because I'm getting a test to stay on the safe side? Please treat your patients with respect. You have no clue what someone is going through. I will not be visiting this urgent care again. Relatives have told me they went through the same thing. read more

Doctors here are great but they are in much need of a new receptionist. They are the first person you meet when you walk in. They should be friendly and inviting. I'm still a customer even if I don't get to choose when I need to use their service. I understand that covid has everyone on edge, especially in the medical world, but that is not and excuse for terrible service. read more

I was seen on 14 December for a UTI. The PA confirmed the diagnosis, and gave me a prescription for 3 days of Bactrim. ndicating they would culture the urine and get back to me. When I ran out of the antibiotic and hadn't heard anything from Medac I finally contacted Medac an was told they were running behind. No results. I tried contacting them again on Friday, Dec 17, Sat 18, Monday, Dec 20. It is now Dec 28, and I still haven't heard anything. The staff were friendly and helpful, but certainly there was a lapse in treatment. I still have the UTI! read more

If I could leave 0 stars, I would. I came in for extreme nerve pain in my tooth, seeking any form of relief or referral, and was treated like a criminal or drug addict from the moment I sat down. I chose this place because I have insurance and wanted to save the Emergency Room for a last resort, especially since we just saw the highest increase of Covid numbers in NC. The girl was condescending, spoke over me, and never let me finish a sentence. When I sat down, she put me in a box and labeled me from the start. I have friends who have died from the opioid epidemic, I get it 110%, but nobody who is in excruciating pain, who is at THEIR MERCY, should ever be made to feel like a criminal. Ever. My dad is my dentist, 3 hours away, out of state. I left this Medac and drove 3 hours on a Saturday, and my dad had to come in and perform emergency oral surgery and cut my tooth (and bone) out of my jaw. I'm now stitched up and STILL NOT ON PRESCRIPTION PAIN MEDS OR NARCOTICS. When I went here seeking help, I was hoping for ANY remedy, whether it was a numbing agent or ANY non addictive alternative (turns out there were many, I just wasn't offered them) but I left feeling hopeless, insulted, and hurting. I would never recommend this facility and if the nurse practitioner/physician's asst. who "treated" me is reading this, shut up and let the patient finish a sentence. You're terrible at your job. A little compassion would go a long way. read more

Really impressed with their Covid testing. Most of checkin was online. Got there 10 minutes before my appointment and went inside for brief in person checkin. No one else was in the waiting room. They then sent me to my car where a nurse interviewed me by phone. After that I was allowed inside to an exam room. Did test which was not painful and met with nurse practitioner who was great. I went to the medac in Wilmington, NC (Monkey Juction) and had a terrible experience. I have been sick for a week straight and missed work. I have the worst sore throat I have ever had, leaving it almost impossible to talk and eat. Also, bilateral ear pain and cough that keeps me up all night and a intermittent intense headache.Mild symptoms include body weakness/soreness and stuffy nose and head. Like I said, this has been going on for a week and seems to be getting worse. The nurse was nice and came in and collected samples for Covid, streptococcal and flu, all negative. The doctor came in (barely making eye contact) and stated there was nothing he could do. Informed me is was a virus. The "doctor" (PA) never laid a hand on me. He did not listen to lung sounds, did not look at my throat or ears. I asked it there was anything he could do for the symptoms so I could at least get some sleep and eat. He stated antibiotics would not be helpful. I informed him I was nurse and understood antibiotics would not help if it were a virus. He then stated, "I bet you wish you went into a different profession". I said nothing to this rude comment. I asked if he could give me something to ease throat pain and cough (prescription strength spray or syrup)? I informed him I have been using OTC meds for a week. He said there was nothing he could and sent me packing. I would feel much better about this experience if he would have at least assessed me. I have never done a complaint for any medical office, ever. This is my first time. This is how dissatisfied I am. read more

When in for a skin irritation on my side. Charged me $350 for the visit plus two corses of antibiotics. A month later skin irritation still there and they tell me to go see another doctor... very poor quality care!! read more

Family member went in to have some thorns removed after a run in with our palm trees. They soaked the wounds and removed a few slivers that were lodged under the skin. They offered a tetanus shot but wounds had bled plenty (tetanus cannot live in oxygen) and in any case the tetanus shot isn't effective until weeks after injection so it was denied. They pushed it more and were asked if it is tetanus only. It's not (it's a triple vaccination of tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis which they admitted). The PA was told they would think about it. PA then said he would be giving an antibiotic and a prescription for ibuprofen. Next thing we know in walks the nurse with a needle and gives an injection. It wasn't until we got home and read the paperwork that we realized the injection was not an antibiotic. They went ahead and gave that TDap vaccination without consent. Sometimes I really wish we had a lawyer in the family. This PA and nurse are required to receive consent before administering any vaccination. Be warned! If you would like their names please feel free to message me. UPDATE: They called to cover their behinds and instead dug themselves a bigger hole by admitting they assumed consent was given. Their solution for trying to remedy their mistake was to not bill the insurance company for the visit (more like concealing the paper trail). How about refunding the $70 out of pocket and not trying to commit insurance fraud? Wow. This place is a lawsuit waiting to happen. read more

This is an update for the provider I saw at this medac FYI I went to my doctor I do have shingles and my white count was high also you didn't look at my allergies very well I can't take doxycycline or gentamicin or penicillin etc ! So glad I know my allergies oh and that lesion on my breast is a fungal infection my breasts are fine I think you might need people skill training because your medical lacks a lot to be desired read more

I love when I go to the doctor because I've had a sore throat for going on 10 days.. and they just tell me to keep doing what I am doing. (Antihistamines/mucinex/plenty of fluids and rest) No meds to help. Nothing. I just WISH I COULD sleep. I expressed that I was unhappy because it was a waste of money and time and they offered no relief. "Oh but at least you don't have strep!" gee. Thanks. I have 3 boys 3, 2, and 10 months. We moved to Wilmington in September, so I had a hard time getting medical insurance amongst other things. All the boys got sick around the same time, so I took them to this location. I got lost on the way, so I arrived close to them closing. The receptionist asked that I hurry and fill out the paperwork because it was almost that time. I tried my best. My 2 yr old laid in the floor and the doctor/nurse tells me "If he's not sick now than he will be" as she comes into the waiting room to get another patient. I was tending to the baby, 10 month old, so I told him to get up. He did than got back on the floor. He's 2! (Just turned it.) We go to the back and she tells me the floors are dirty and she didn't want him to get sick. I didn't say anything. We go to the room to figure out while we are all here even though I wrote it on the paper they hand you when you get there. I told her the boys had lice and I possibly did. They were also suffering runny nose's and coughs. She than asked me how long did I think I had lice. I told her we all had it about 3-5 months. (me and the younger boys got it from my oldest) I had been to the ER after hopelessly trying over the counter products and home remedies. She repeatedly asked me as if I'm stupid or nasty, "You had lice for 5 months and just came in tonight?!" I tried to explain I couldn't get the medicine because I had no insurance and it wasn't my first time been seen or theirs." She ask me about 2 more times and I say the same thing than she cuts me off and says I DON'T care about your insurance! I'm trying to understand why you decided to come here tonight! What changed?! At this point, I say forget it. Just make sure my kids are ok. She said, she wasn't being rude, but I have NEVER been talked to this way at any doctors office ever! I found it extremely disrespectful. She than says why did you come tonight? I told her I thought I had lice. I came in to be sure. I thought I got rid of it in our heads, but spotted it in the older boys heads. I wasn't for sure if I just had dry scalp since I recently treated everyone. She says now she understands why I'm there even though I told them and wrote down I was there for lice. She also seemed agitated because my two year old kept laying in the floor. I went to grab him than he licked the floor and she freaked out. He's 2! He does gross stud I try to stop him, but obviously it doesn't always work. I guess the lady helping her got mad at me and refused to take my 2 yr olds temperature. & told the other nurse to deal with it. He was standing up, but she didn't ask me to hold him. ( Like all the other doctors we have been to visit.) They than leave and my kids are playing in the room. Everytime the kids get quiet I hear them talking and they say we still don't know why she is here! Even though I wrote it down and I told them. I don't understand how so many "smart" people can be so simple minded. Someone else comes in who appears to be more friendly, but I could tell she was anxious to finish or leave. She ask me if I'm there for lice and to find a nit im the toddler hair. I tell her yes than I find the nit. They wrote the prescriptions and explain to me about through cleaning and nit picking. After that, I ran out of there. I asked for the administrator's number from the receptionist who told me who to call (the office on Shipyard), but I don't know if it would be worth it to complain. I will NEVER go back there and I will ALWAYS wait until their primary doctors office open who is trained to deal with kids and much more friendlier.
