I was contacted by an Office Staff (Not a tenured Staff member), but I'll leave Her name anonymous. Long story short I was contacted by a Staff member to confirm current insurance and the appointment was made. Shortly after my Telehealth appt I switched Providers and contacted the Office to book a second app at which time a tenured Staff member confirmed my current insurance wasn't accepted. I was confused and mentioned my previous appt was with the non-accepted insurance and immediately contacted Cape Fear Valley billing. I was contacted by CH and She explained the Staff member was no longer with the practice (WOW)! My first thought should you be sharing that info? Second thought... How many other people were mis-informed and mayve experienced the same issue. I was told to submit a financial assistance application to help with the bill. After a lengthy back & forth and having to submit 3 different documents I was contacted and told I got approved for a 100% sliding fee, but it will not cover my $263.00 bill, so all the documents I provided were never really going to help the bill I acquired due to the lack of knowledge on the Staffs part. I have since changed my insurance to be able to continue care at this Office without a chance of this becoming an issue in the future, so the sliding fee really doesn't help me. This is terrible and this bill should be written off cause I would never have intentionally made an appointment with an insurance my Provider didn't accept.. Terrible customer in this matter and highly disappointing.

Most importantly he takes the time to get to know his patients and everyone in the family! He comes in with his guitar and sings to his patients and sings with his patients and unlike other Drs he does well in informing everyone what is going on. I drove by it a couple of times before making my appointment and decided why not! If the consultation doesn't go right, I can always look for another. From the moment I stepped in, I knew I had made the right choice. The office is beautiful inside! There is a table with cookies, coffee and anything you may need for your coffee. The receptionist was very nice. Started filling out paperwork when Mr. Al came and got me for some X-rays. He is Funny! Very nice man! While I was taking my X-rays, Dr. Griffies popped his head in, smiled, and greeted me! He hadn't even met me yet, but made an effort to make me feel welcomed. Then, I was taken into the consultation room for pictures. The Dr. came in and we talked about ALLL the concerns I had. He's awesome! Explained everything to me in detail and just made me feel at ease. Then someone (sorry I forgot her name, but she was super sweet and nice!) came in to do the treatment plan and talk to me about the good stuff $$$. Long story short, I was able to get braces put on THAT SAME DAY!!! They are fast and effective, but take their time to explain everything and have an AWESOME attitude while they are doing it.
