The artist I generally go to never emailed me back, so I found Josh Barg on the list of people he follows on Instagram. There were other artists as well who do great work, but not really the style I go for in tattoos. I'm not into portraits or black & gray. I prefer colorful tattoos that are either Traditional or Cartoon style. I emailed Josh about what I wanted and heard back from him pretty quick. Couldn't have been more than 1-2 days. I drove up to the shop, we discussed the design, made the appointment (5 days from then), and I left him a deposit. I received an email from him yesterday (Saturday) asking what I thought about a bat head with sugar skull designs, but I really couldn't picture it. I wasn't sure it would still look like a bat without the wings. Well I went in there today (Sunday) and when he showed me the sketch I immediately knew it was a little Vampire Bat! I fell in love with it! He also drew up a little Fruit Bat in flight, but for the placement, I knew the Sugar Skull Vampire Bat was the one. The tattoo took about 2 hours. It was mesmerizing watching him create this awesome little dude on my arm. His lines are clean and thick, which I love! It's seriously flawless! He really did a great job on the color too. I told him the colors I wanted, but he chose the placement for them. From the spider web to it's little piggy vampire nose. I love every detail of this masterpiece - big and small. I'm so happy with it I pretty much haven't taken my eyes off of it. Josh is definitely an artist I'll keep in my life and continue to go back to - so much talent! If you like Traditional tattoos, do yourself a favor and check him out! You won't be disappointed.

The studio itself is very modern and professional, with wooden floors, comfortable seating and ample space. The walls are adorned with pieces of art by Zera Anderson (who owns the joint and tattoos). Also, it is a small business owned by a local resident of the community. Over the summer, Jodi (who owned Ink For Life, formerly down the strip) is in town doing work, which long-standing customers are happy to take advantage of, but the majority of the year Zera herself is the only acting artist. This means two things necessarily - first, there is generally a wait time between when you come in to make an appointment and when your appointment actually is; second, Zera is talented enough to warrant being the only artist working out of the studio. Of the six tattoos I have, she has done five and they are each elaborate, unique and incredible. On many occasions I have been asked to pass on "regards to my artist" on behalf of random bystanders who saw them and were impressed. If you want quality ink done, Brite Idea Tattoo is definitely worth checking out. If you don't live nearby, it would still be worthwhile to travel out to visit. I have no doubt that I will have many future inking adventures here.

Woman owned and doing incredible work, the artists here (Zera who owns it, along with Janet and Sarah) are absolutely phenomenal and do brilliant work. Their custom pieces are miles beyond anything you could have imagined, and their beautifully created flash pieces are stunning as well. Great for first timers and those covered in ink alike, I cannot recommend this place enough. I usually see Sarah, and she is particularly good with those who are brand new and/or those who have chronic pain (like me!) and may need accommodations, extra breaks, etc.
