Took a really nice Third Reich tour. The guide was enthusiastic and seamed to enjoy the subject matter. I enjoyed getting to see a lot of things in a relatively short amount of time. One thing that I kinda expected was due to the vast age range/city bike riding abilities of the people in the group we biked a bit slow for my liking a got split up a few times because of people not being comfortable riding on the roads with cars. This was not a major problem though. If you are interested in WWII at all I would recommend the Third Reich tour for sure. read more

This is a great way to tour Berlin. I'd recommend doing this towards the beginning of your stay because it helps you get a lay out of Berlin. You get a grand overview and learn a lot of this city's history. Then you can go back to the sites that interest you and take more time with those specific sites. Julian was our guide and he did a fantastic job of hosting us and making us feel welcome. At the lunch he checked in with us and just chatted with us. I brought my 8 year old on this ride and she really enjoyed it. She asked questions and was able to keep up with the group. A highlight of our trip! I've been on this kick lately to see the cities I travel to by bike. And Berlin was a great one to do that with! I think a lot of people see the price and might be hesitant at first because naturally, it's a bit more expensive than say a walking tour. But you're getting a bike, as well as a chance to cover much more of the city than you would on other tours! My tour guide Tom, a witty guy from the UK was not only funny but knowledgable. He was easy to bike alongside and ask questions and he brought so much of the city to life on the tour. So I've done this tour twice. TWICE! It's actually that good. Actually, I've done all the Fat Tire Bike Tours all around Europe- but this one is a highlight. And they also have the best t-shirts. Currently they're sporting a - "Poor but sexy" with a silhouette of the TV tower in the background! If you only have a day in Berlin and you want to hit all the highlights and learn a little bit about the gritty but rightly, sexy city of Berlin- do this tour. You ride through town. You take some back streets. You ride through a park. You lunch at a biergarten where they serve delicious delicious food. See some gate and visit some wall. But I digress. This is a lots of bang for your buck kind of tour and I won't ruin it by telling you every little bit about it except it's good and worth doing. This tour was by far the best way to experience Berlin. I never knew there was so much to see around every corner until our guide, France was able to point it all out for us. We had so much fun on the bikes, laughing, nonstop squeaking, beers and some how we were able to learn a lot over the whole day. If you go to Berlin, take this tour. Awesome awesome! Can't say enough good things about it! Loved this tour...learned so much history. Tim was our guide. Rode for 4+ hours but it was easy enough riding. Tim did well to keep us all together and went at an acceptable pace. Our legs were definitely kinda like jelly after though lol! Lots of stops...museums and monuments and lots of explaining the history, really informative. Stopped at Schleusenkrug for lunch, was incredible! They also give you a pass at the end with a stamp for Berlin and you can use this in 3 other cities that they offer the tour in and you get a discount, the amount depends on how many stamps you have...some included cities are Paris and Barcelona (I think). I've taken a few bicycle tours in the past, and this has been one of the better options. Splitting the groups that arrive into 15 meant that there were just enough people to handle and not too many stragglers when crossing lights. Our tour guide, Neil, got one of the group to be a follow to round up anyone straggling and got a beer in return - not a bad deal. As others have noted below, there were plenty of stops and Berlin is mostly flat so you won't be pushed. The All in one tour was good and covered just enough with witty banter along the way. Was around 4 hours, but you only cover around 10 km in that time. Stop for lunch at a beer garden near the Zoo which is OK - I'd encourage you to go to the BBQ - not anything salad-ish. We ended the tour at the Brandenburg gates which was good. It's a bit of a circus. read more

Great way to get your sense of the city and where you might want to go. I did this tour on the first full day in Berlin. Tour starts at their location near the tv station tower. It was brief stops at each. Our tour guide Blakely provided details and history to locations. Most memorable areas were check point Charlie, portion of Berlin Wall that still stands near Topography of Terror, Hitlers Bunker, Reichstag Building, and Tiergarten for a late lunch in the park. I just came back from my 3-hour bike tour and I wanted to be sure to write my glowing praise for this bike tour outfit. Their system seems to be organized well. And I especially want to give kudos to our guide Sam, a young English bloke who did a great job of being engaging, informative, and funny at times. In May my girl-friend Lilly and I took a tour with fat tire bike tours in Berlin. Our guide was Kerin - an Irish fellow with lots of knowledge and whits. He felt like a kindred spirit because just like I he was not fond of theaters and operas but relishes beer gardens and Prussian history. The bikes were not the most comfortable. But I guess the younger generation likes it because they are COOL. The sights well chosen. I can tell because I've been to Berlin numerous times and there is a true plethora of sights in Berlin. Lilly and I most enjoyed the ride along the Spree river where we saw the Kanzleramt (Angelika Merkel's office) and passing by the Reichstag. The ride in the Tiergarten was a bit lengthy but riding underneath the trees we had shade. The whether this day in May was already unusual hot. The only snag is the price: 24 Euros per person. But if you want to show your girl friend around Berlin you earn big points for doing this with her. read more

LOVE THIS TOUR COMPANY!!! The workers here are so excited, friendly, hilarious, and just all around the nicest people ever. They can teach you history, joke around, and even share a beer at dinner in the gardens with. Had Alex for a 4.5 - 5 hour bike tour and it was SO MUCH FUN! Toured all around the west side of the city and then had dinner in the gardens. Alex was not only friendly and caring of all his riders but also made small talk with each of the riders in his group to get to know where they were from and offer an abundance of advice on where to go, eat, drink, EVERYTHING. Such a good deal and this is MUCH needed for such a huge city like Berlin. Your legs might fall off from all the walking to cover such little land here but biking will get you somewhere :) read more

I was in Berlin for a weekend and decide to use these guys as a way to get the lay of the land. It was excellent. Key points: Guides are really nice and eager to please. Berlin is very flat. Seeing the HUGE city of Berlin on a Segway can be pretty cool and convenient. Many of the sites are very spread out far and away from each other; a walking tour of Berlin would require hours and hours more of traveling to see the amount of sites you see on the Segway tour. Plus, I'm gonna be honest, the Segways are a bit of fun and a novelty, for sure. You'll definitely get stares from jealous people walking on the street (or people who think you look like a dork/douche/tool with your Segway taking up the sidewalk, but who cares? It's beautiful Berlin and Segways. It's a great combination and warrants the subsequent onlookers. Our guide, Mariette, was great and very helpful for some of the older, less experienced Segway riders in our tour. Plus, she was very knowledgeable of Berlin - fun and interesting. This is a great way to see the city of Berlin! It is a lot of bang for your buck. Our tour guide was Nick from Belgium and he had all of the right components for a tour guide. He was extremely knowledgable in European history, funny and safe. Even if you are not a biker, this tour is well worth it. Excellent fun! Great way to see the city, historical sites and parks lands. We went on the 4pm 'City Tour' which included a stop for dinner at a local beer garden in the parkland. Was a nice touch. Very casual and family friendly. Patrick was great! He knew a lot about the history of the city and I really appreciated his chalk drawing skills ;P. Very informative and worthwhile. The bikes are really comfy (even after 5+ hrs). They have a great system to ensure no one is left behind. You get discounts for future tours even in other cities - Paris, Barcelona and London. I had a ball and would highly recommend to anyone with limited time in Berlin. Covers a lot of ground. Tip: bring a light jacket, it can get a bit chilly by the evening. read more

Seriously. I know bike tours sound cheesy and make you look like the ULTIMATE tourist, but they are the best best best way to see any city. I think this is the hipster version of a walking tour, so maybe it is still a best kept secret ;) Anywho. I forget our guide's name (for shame!) but he was great. So smart and funny. I loved how interactive he was with us on the tour, and then he let us go off on our own at times at places like Checkpoint Charlie and the Holocaust Memorial. I am fascinated by Berlin and how young of a city it really is. All of these important things happened not too long ago, and it was really cool to see it still there. The wall, the bullet holes from Russian guns, where Hitler died - all so cool. The beergarden was my favorite spot we went to. The food was great and I enjoyed a nice radler there. A light beer mixed with lemonade - soooo refreshing and delightful. Bought a shirt from the bike store after the tour that reads "Berlin: Poor but Sexy" on it. I get so many stares when I wear that around here - by FAR my favorite purchase from that trip. read more

If you haven't seen the regular Berlin sites, I recommend you do those first. After that, treat yourself to digging a little deeper in to the other areas of this wonderful city. Best time ever! I am not really huge on bikes, but I found one that was small enough that I could touch the ground (which was comforting for me). I've always been dubious about guided tours, which tend to be sanitized, condescending, and slow. This concern was furthered by having to pedal my way through a major city. I was so happily shocked to find what a delight a half-day biking tour through Berlin turned out to be, and it was readily the highlight of a quick trip to Germany's capital. The company itself is staffed by expats who are fluent German-speakers to know the land and interact with locals, but able to give the tour in their native tongue full of idioms, relative history (i.e., the Riechstag is like the Capitol), and quirky idiosyncrasies that made the tour feel natural and welcoming. The tour is paced well to bike a little, learn a little, bike a little more, see some cool sights, take a stop at a beer garden, and then bike a little more. 4.5 hours on a bike seat was broken up so never got sore butts nor were the non-athletic in our group overly-challanged. Finally, each guide has his/her own quirks and personality, so each will give a slightly different tour. While each focuses on the major points, specific personal/historical anecdotes may change. Our guide, Sophie, was wonderfully snarky, spirited, and enthusiastic about our tour; it was absolutely perfect for what we wanted out of Berlin that day. So while any guide will show you around, it's worth it to go again with a new guide. This was really a great experience I'd recommend for anyone new to Berlin. When we go back, we'll certainly head out on one of their more specialized tours focusing on specific parts of the city, its culture, or its history. read more

While in Berlin for the first time ever, my Mom and I signed up for the four hour day tour. We visited the Brandenburg gate, Hitler's bunker, the Berlin Wall, Checkpoint Charlie, a beer garden, the holocaust memorial and the government building (I forget the German name!)
