I came here because it's listed as the best restaurant.in Sussex and Crawley, and there aren't that many decent non pub or chain places in Crawley. It has onky been open a year. It seemed to have gone viral on TripAdvisor.
Anyhow gave it a go and yes it was worth it. The decor seemed to be burger bar meets Shoreditch. It took me a while burning think it's one of those places that legitimately is a start up, so the trendy cheaper, bins for lampshades, and barrels for tables might actually be cost cutting and they've done it well. Its a mismatch for sure.
Its a dry establishment which keeps cost down. And when I first went there there was no burgers in the burger and grill. I have since seem them. The management is brilliant, I've.witnessed a few staff mishaps but these are genuine errors while they've been training up new staff, so a bit of late orders, a bit of error in order is always rectified by the managemenrs sincere apologies and appropriate bill reaction. Its likely to happen in a new business which grows so quickly.
Food is great, different, can't describe it, except it tastes like a cross between Indian and Turkish, more on the Indian. Both times I've got the feast for two. I didn't get the naans that were a foot tall, but they look fresh and massive. And the naans I did get were epic and so yummy fresh out of oven, warm and squidgy bread. There are soo many options, some dishes seemed costly. But in general costing seemed wise.
Good place to go evening if you are not bothered about drinking. Excellent place if your looking for something cityesque and you've moved to Sussex. read more
