Yelp and Google both said this store closed at 7pm. I left Acadia National Park in order to make the closing time of this store, got here at 6:05pm, paid for parking, and found they had closed early! Please stick to your advertised hours. read more

Stopped in to FatFace on the night of Merry Madness, there was rumor of a Pim's cocktail, which turned out to be true, AND the best stop of the night! Amidst all of the celebration of the evening, I did end up browsing through the store and was really impressed by the quality and design of their clothing. There were at least three pieces that I am planning on returning to try and possibly, buy. Price point is on the high side, BUT these are unique pieces that would add a special touch to any wardrobe. What a fun place to shop! I initially walked in to get a sweatshirt from the freezing wind, and ended up walking out with an entire wardrobe for my family. I met Abbey (spelling?), the assistant GM, who was so sweet, knowledgeable, and patient (because we ended up staying 35 minutes past official closing). Thank you Abbey! Love the colors, the style, and the cuts for all girls in my family. Happy girls mean happy dad, cuz that means no bitching, which means I get to sleep in. Unfortunately for me, they had no XL in the ONE HOODIE I really wanted (cuz muscles), but I did get one of their other rugged pullover things which is just cool. I actually felt British wearing it. Great range of UK based clothes but my oh my the girls need to be trained in customer service. They stood there looking at people and not much else. I had clothes to try on and looked around for the fitting room and then when I got in the room I thought about their poor customer service skills. It has a lot of traffic with people coming and going. I think they would move more stuff if the staff stepped up their game. I went back a second time as I really loved an article of clothing and this time one of the staff said hello and that was it. I left the item even though I loved it on principle. I am a proud anglophile! I grew up sustained by BBC comedies on local PBS! So when I heard about this place on local radio, promoted by my favorite morning radio personalities, I was pretty excited to go check it out. I followed the British food good store I believe it's called bringham & Young ... in Freeport... to Every location it's gone to in the past 20 years. So a quality British goods store is somewhere I'll follow to the Moon and back. That said, I was really hoping this would be a similar situation and experience! However, with a quality clothing good store! I was so disappointed! First of all, the clothing their looks ordinary... It doesn't look particularly special, vintage, genre specific... Anything that jumps off the rack at you is very must buy! Which was the name is Off the Wall as Fat Face, kind of expect don't you? Secondly, I realize there's a certain difference in the exchange rate between the dollar and the British pound and it's hard to account for the fact that that fluctuates on a somewhat indeterminate basis, but you have to be smoking something off the chart good to charge those kind of prices! And when I see those kind of items, with that kind of lackluster common quality, with those kind of price tags... The first thing I want to know is where I can buy whatever it is you were smoking when you put the price tag on! Because I don't want those clothes, I want what you were smoking when you priced them! This is a UK-based clothier that opened a store in the Old Port in February of 2016. I stopped in today and really liked the layout and interior design. It's very cool! The women's clothing is super cute, however it's all too youthful for my style. For example there are many sweater dresses that are too short for me but too long to wear as a tunic. The shorter sweaters have slits on the sides that don't flatter me. Too bad but I'll check back again in a few months. I took off one star for the clothing being made in China and Cambodia and not the UK (for the labels I checked). read more

Was just in their new store in Camden, Maine, with my 11 yr old daughter who found the last dress in her size. One of the straps was torn lose, so when I brought it to the counter I asked if they could further discount the price (I'd just have it fixed). Two people behind the counter, one, I assume was the manager "in charge." Her response: "I don't see how I can take anything further off" (the item was on sale). I wasn't looking to get it for free, but if a customer is willing to purchase a damaged item in a store (my daughter really loved the dress and it was the last one), then it makes sense that the item would be discounted. So, the manager's logic was this: If the item was perfect, then I would have paid the sale price; if the item was damaged and I was willing to have it repaired on my own dime, then I would have to pay the SAME price. I think not. I offered to put it back and she replied, "Oh, no. I have to do a damage ticket on that." So rather than sell it, she's going to ship it back somewhere? I don't think that logic deserves my business. It also indicates what kind of service/consideration I'd get if there happened to be any problem with the quality of their clothing after the sale. Go to a store that has a common sense approach to customer service and avoid this one. read more
