I took my uniforms there to get altered two different times and both times everything fit perfectly. I had an excellent experience here in early spring of 2023. There were last-minute issues/changes with the top for my wedding outfit and I came in (in a panic!) asking for help. I was wearing a two-piece and my skirt was perfectly fitted but the top was a bit big. A lot of other alteration spots were very judgmental when I asked for a quick turnaround but Fatima welcomed me in. She was transparent about what was/wasn't possible in the short turnaround time I was requesting. Don't go to these people. They are always overbooked and try to work with 2-3 customers at the same time, they don't have your clothes ready when promised and the workmanship is so bad that it looks like a real amateur or worse did it - really terrible. They shortened the sleeves on a jacket for me and it looked like it had been done by a 6 year old just learning to sew. I had to remove all the stitching and they almost ruined the jacket. read more

Do not take anything of value or sentimental value here.... I took my mom's wedding dress from 1996 here to have them make it fit and shorten it.. I called before I went there asking if they have done wedding dresses and have experience altering them and the woman said yes. First, the woman did the alterations and it didn't fit very well and I didn't like it at all then the man who works there said he could fix it. This is how he gave the dress back.... WORST "seamstress" I've EVER used. I would give zero stars if I could-- I went into this place asking about getting a simple alteration of shorting sleeves on a sport coat. The woman working there said it would not be a problem. She told me it would be ready in 4 days. I asked also if she could dry clean it- she said she doesn't do dry cleaning, but her family across the way will. So adding that on she asked for 6 days. I went to pick it up 8 days later, and the jacket wasn't done. She remeasured what I want, went back and did the alteration right then. She brought out my jacket with some stains the some how "showed up" and the sleeves were sooo short. I asked her about it, and she started giving me attitude. I asked her to calm down. She then started arguing with other customers in the shop as well-- they were all complaining as well.. short story long DONT GO HERE- they are very sloppy and do very poor work. and very crappy customer service!!! Fatima did such a great job altering my bridesmaid dress! It was a three layer dress and it was too long and too big so I am glad she made it fit so much better! You can't even see that the dress has been altered! You can definitely tell that Fatima is experienced in altering dresses. I went on a Saturday morning right when they opened so I was the only one there. There is only 1 dressing room so I assume there would be a bit of a wait if there were more people. The reason I did not give this place 5 stars is because it was very expensive. I understand that my dress had 3 layers but it was $120 to alter the dress and the dress itself was only $130. Also, she asked for cash only so I couldn't even put it on my credit card. Overall, this is a great place to get clothes altered but be prepared to pay a lot for it in cash. I guess you get what you paid for because I was very happy at how my dress turned out. Just wish it was a little less pricey. read more

The guy who altered my dress did an excellent job and you could tell he cared about his work. When I first put it on and he began doing measurements I could tell it was going to come out just the way I wanted it! I brought in an antique jacket to get some wear on the shoulder looked at and to get it re-lined. Fatima initially quoted me $50 and a few weeks to get it done and I said that was fine, since I knew it was a delicate job - the material was practically disintegrating! Unfortunately, antiques being what they are, she had to take an extra 2 weeks and another $30, but when I got it back (a week earlier than she had quoted), she'd even managed to salvage my grandmother's monogram and put it in the new lining. The work she put in was definitely quality, she was up front about costs and delays, incredibly sweet, and I will definitely be back for future alterations. I've seen several reviews say that she's cash only but she did accept my credit card with no hesitation. read more

Customers beware: check Fatima's workmanship before taking home and if you have to go outside to check, I deeply advise. I come from a tuxedo/ formal wear family business to give you some background of myself. I went in to see Fatima if she had time for a very small job to be restitched. The viewing room is not well lit. I returned on the same day as Fatima offered to have the garment completed, I paid and walked out of the store. Before I got in my car, I looked at the job they completed and I had to laugh how bad the workmanship and the wrong color stitch they used. The seamstress used a completely wrong color stitch (dark, when it should have been from the light blue family) I was very disappointed and the work was unacceptable. I returned the garment immediately and showed Fatima the wrong color stitch. Fatima tried to convince me the stitch color she had chosen was correct and that's the best color she had to do the job. And then her daughter came out and try to sell me the idea how the stitch would be difficult to match because when the garment was made the entire completed garment is dipped in dye. If the garment was dipped at the factory the stitch and the garment would be the same color and they are completely different. Fatima returned from the back and provided me with three spoils of thread to choose from. Now I'm doing their job. I took them outside to see and provided my choice of thread to complete the job. Fatima totally disagreed with my choice and continually thought the stitch she completed earlier was correct. I gave her another shot at the job and when I returned, I had to go back outside to see the stitch and sure enough, it matched perfectly. Fatima continued to tell me it was the wrong color but it was a perfect match. So combative, terrible people skills and story tellers to make their customers believe is true. Her shop is located right off 4th street and the parking lot is small, but there is street parking on the side you can access. She is definitely worth it. I had a white dress hemmed by her. Fatima and her daughter Chaima were absolutely amazing. Based off recommendations from many friends I decided to have them do the alterations to my wedding dress. My dress was very delicate and ornate, and they were able to take everything in and hem it, and keep the beaded trim at the bottom. I imagine these are wedding dress basics but they did it for significantly less than what my friends have paid for their dresses going to other seamstresses. But then they went beyond basics. I had a sample dress so it was quite worn. They tediously secured every loose bead (and there were A LOT), they found that the mesh upper back was starting to have small holes from tension and reinforced it with a second layer of mesh and added beautiful custom bead work to increase reinforcement and it looked absolutely gorgeous. They did not charge extra from what they initially quoted for this. Then I decided I wanted to add some custom beading to the sleeves which they were more than happy to do. Of course I was willing to pay extra as this required them to take on the arduous task of stringing probably hundreds of beads to strands and then attaching them to mesh sleeves that already had very intricate bead work, and it came out absolutely stunning. I felt like I couldn't have it all when picking a gown and while I fell in love with the gown when I bought it, and was already so happy, they literally created my dream gown allowing me to feel like I could have it all. During my final fitting we went over everything, but upon staring at a photo later that night, I was worried about something in the sheer low back area. Unfortunately I became fixated on this part of the dress at midnight on a Saturday, scheduled to fly out first thing Monday morning for my wedding. They are closed sundays and mondays. But I contacted Chaima, and Fatima came in ON HER DAY OFF to alter the dress again to make sure she did everything she could to make sure I was satisfied. Upon arriving to New Jersey I realized I didn't remember how the bustle worked and in a panic called Chaima who sent me a YouTube video on how to bustle the dress. They really went above and beyond, truly care that the customer is happy and all for a very reasonable price. You don't find customer service like this anymore.
