I was looking for a tailor in Saint Petersburg, and Ursula's Alterations popped up! It worked out for me to visit while I was in the area! Parking is quite limited, and the lot is tiny. There are about 2 spaces in front of the business. However, you can go to the back parking, where there are another 2 spots designated for Ursula's. I brought a piece of clothing after visiting 2 other tailors, who said they were not able to fix my item. The man told me that to come back after 6-7 days for my item. After patiently waiting, I picked up my item with complete happiness. They do accept cash and credit card. Quick notes: They are not responsible for items not picked up after 90 days. Some days her dog (the house mascot) might greet hello to you! Would I come back? Yes. Business Hours: Monday - Friday 10A-6P Saturday 10A-3P Sunday is closed

    Love her store front!

I have been coming here for 10 years and always have been thrilled with the alteration work here. I have had jeans shortened, taken them from wide leg to skinny. The quality is outstanding Love her recommendations to repair, toss or improve the style of a dress, pants or jacket that needs to be updated. Consistently great work can be found here! I see she extended her Saturday hours till 3pm. Love her!

Truly old-world quality. She knows good fabric and takes care in handling. Highly recommended.

Overpriced and rude, will not be going back. Needed a $100 bridesmaid dress shortened, ended up being charged $160!

I had issues with both the service and quality of work at Central Alterations. I went in to get 2…read moredresses worked on, one needed to be taken in and I wanted the style of hem changed, and the other just needed to be hemmed. After putting in the pins, they asked when I needed to pick up the dresses. They suggested that I pick them up the day before the event I was wearing one, and I requested sooner so there would be time to make any changes to the fitting if necessary. They scheduled me to pick up the dresses 2 days before the event instead of their original suggestion on 1 day before (which was about 2 weeks after drop off). I made it clear that I would be picking up my dresses when they opened on the day they were supposed to be ready. They did not give me a price estimate the day I dropped them off. When I arrived to pick them up, NO WORK HAD BEEN COMPLETED ON EITHER DRESS. They had me sit while they worked on my dresses in that moment, and when they brought them out they had forgotten to change the hem on the first dress. So they took it back to work on it and by the time they brought it back out I was going to be late to work so I had to take the dresses and leave. They charged me $107 for these services. When I got home from work and had a chance to check the dresses, I realized that they used white thread to hem my purple dress and it stands out terribly! But at this point I had no time to take it back to them and get it corrected before I was flying out. I'm still considering whether I should go back and ask them to replace the white thread, I'm not sure that I trust them to make it right.

I actually brought both my bachelorette and bridal shower dresses in years ago and recently brought these two other dresses and to be altered (one taken in and the other one I had cups installed because I couldn't wear it otherwise) and they did a great job on both !
