I had a brain bleed and she was assigned to me at st bernadines hospital. Early in my recovery it seemed there was a level of treatment that was informative. As time went by it seemed like they became annoyed at my questions. When I was trying to get back to work driving my employer had specific requirements and release information because of the standards placed by the state of California has regarding CDL and School bus certificate endorsement. It was difficult trying to get the assistant and the doctor to understand. I felt they weren't really listening to me. Sometimes doctors forget that their patients have frustrations communicating especially when they suffer neurological trauma. From day one everything we spoke I was questioning my recovery to return to work. I over came some issues easily but not others. The last visits seemed like they were not big deal. There was alot of frustration over paperwork needing to be specific and how specific they would get. Ended up not going back as driving. Two days ago I began to have a lot of pain in my affected side and was told to check with my neurologist. SO, I did. I received a call that I understood to say that the neurologist was no longer my doctor and to get with my GP. So in before 6 months when my next scan is due, I will be looking for a neurologist. Maybe I will have better luck understanding the doctor and the doctor to understand me. What started with me being very comfortable with the level of communication to me feeling like it doesn't matter. I felt they message was rude. No problem have plenty of time to find a new neurologist. I guess I should say also that I don't know if it was just the assistant that was short with me or if it was both of them anyway, All's well then ends well. read more

Dr Fatima Janjua, a NeurologistI was referred for my severe neck pain. She tested and in this first visit she referred me to MRI test with referral infkrmation. She was pleasant and respecting. She took time to probe reason of my pain. Same day she herself called me to inform me that 4 years ago I had neck-pain MRI and because of that, was I then referred to a neuro-surgeon? No, I was not, I replied. I was shocked on her research on my pain 4 years back, and was impressed by her dillgence in helping me as fast as possible to rid of my disabling neck-pain. Same week I got referral to a USC Keck Medical Center initiated by her. I can not thank her enough for taking care of me in such a short time. I will continue under care. Hello everybody. Where do I begin? This is a Neurology office with Dr. Janjua. I am writing a review for our experience here. The experiences here have been nothing but negative. There is a level of incompetence that exceeds normally medical office operations. Here are some of the big issues here. 1) For whatever reasons this doctor does not let anyone accompany the patient during treatment. They say Botox is a medical procedure but at UCLA they allow my to be in the room with my wife. So I call BS on this. 2) Even after the BOTOX procedure, I request to go back to the office for the doctor visit but the staff does not come and bring me in to be a part of my wife's health care. 3) We did a request for medical records release at the beginning of August. Today, I found out that this office lost the request and the records were never sent over. No one in the office, not even the doctor knows where the request went. Incompetence! 4) There is a woman who at the front desk was very rude and when I asked to talk to the office manager she called the police to have me removed (I was upset because they rescheduled my wife's Botox twice now, two treatments over 24 weeks all because they scheduled my wife's treatments then cancelled due to the doctor going on vacation. (Does not the manger have a handle on the doctor's time off so they don't cancel my wife's treatment?) My wife had to deal with migraine pain because the doctor decides to go on vacation, and my wife is suffering for three weeks past her scheduled Botox treatment. Do yourself a favor. I waited weeks for my first appt only to find out it was cancelled due to "Drs schedule." No one called me. I rearranged my schedule and took time off work. Plus I need to see a Neurologist. I cannot figure out why so many people had such bad things to say about this doctor. The office staff is nice, they were 100% on time and the doctor was informative, kind, communicative and gentle. She gave me her honest opinion and didn't push any medications or treatments on me at all. She was never rude. I feel she has a hard job. Neuro medicine is so intense and we don't always get the results we hope for. Look at how many years we have been researching Parkinsos and Alzheimers and such with not much improvement. Be patient people. Treat her the way you'd want her to treat you. If reading the other reviews stops you from going to see her, don't let them. If I could give this sorry excuse for a doctor negative stars I would gladly have done so. She is the worst doctor I have had the displeasure of dealing with. she is rude, condescending and refusing to own up to her mistakes and instead leaves you in the room without finishing and sends one of her nurses to finish things up. I bright my father in to help with is Parkinson's and dementia.She was not sure about the dementia and had us take him to a sleep study to make sure it was not sleep apnea. The next time my parents went she mentioned nothing about the sleep study. So when I went the next time I asked about it and she said she did not have the results (mind you it had now been 3 months since he went for the study). She blamed it on the fact that if his primary care doctor ordered the study sometimes she won't get the results and I need to talk to he primary care physician to have them send them to her. At which point I had to remind her that SHE was the one who ordered the test not his primary care physician and we have been waiting for the results for 3 months now and we needed to move forward to figure out my father's memory problems. She then got irritated because I called her out and walked out of the room and never returned. A nurse came in asking us what was next and we said we thought she was going to get the results of his test. Needless to say they could get them and the doctor never came back to the room. Eventually the office called with the results and that was the end of working with her. Even the several times we had gone she would always have some excuse as to why she could not diagnose my fathers symptoms and she would get frustrated and nasty if we would pressed her to help us. She should not be practicing medicine at all. She does not know what she is doing. she does not pay attention to her own charts and she is rude when she makes mistakes and blames you. read more

I was into see Dr, Janjua in 2014. I had definable shrinkage of the right leg and nerve damage. To no avail she prescribed me pills, useless pill and told me I was lucky I didn't need a brace to walk. The pill were useless and her technique of giving a EMG is a joke. Now that I am in a brace and forced to retire I have had time to search for a proper Neurologist. He ordered a EMG,( the proper way) then a muscle biopsy and determined IBM is the disease I have and now have some hope on some relief. I find Dr. Janjua's expertise minimal and her lack of knowledge of a disease that is rare but been known since the 1970's in the neurological field appalling. read more

I have been very unhappy with Dr. Janjua and the office. It takes 15-30 minutes to get anyone on the phone. The doctor would not allow me in the room with my mom unless my mom consented in writing. No problem, we signed all necessary paperwork. Additional tests were ordered. After all tests were done, we received no follow up or discussion of the results. When I called to request a meeting, I was asked why I wanted to see or talk the doctor. After some arm-wrestling she agreed to a meeting to discuss the results. I drove 3 hours to take my mom the the appointment. The Dr refused to talk to me at all and said she was too busy to talk to me but she would see my mom. I was told I had to make an phone appointment if I wanted to talk to her. On the appointment date, the Dr. did not call me nor did the office follow up. When I called the office I was told the Dr. only speaks to the patient. This is unacceptable. I need to find another neurologist. read more

This Dr. ? Treated my Mother for Parkinson's. My Mothers friend took her once, my daughter took her once and I took her a few times. We all came to the same conclusion. I've seen Dr. Janjoua several times beginning about a year ago. Yes, indeed the staff is pleasant and helpful. Dr. Janjoua also was pleasant the first time I visited. Today was a totally different story. My experience was so humiliating that I left the building choking back tears. Her demeanor was rude, threatening, reprimanding, blistering and HUMILIATING! Right from the minute she walked into the room she began assaulting me with her words and insulting me. She would not let me get in a word much less an explanation of my situation and what had transpired since I saw her last. Her treatment of me was unprofessional to say the least and totally inappropriate for a physician who has given their life's work to helping people. Dr. Janjua is a very efficient doctor. She listens to all of my concerns, answered all of my questions and took her time in examining me. After almost a year of suffering and confusion, it only took 1 visit to her and my concerns were being addressed accordingly! Finally, after so many months, I was able to sleep throughout the night, wake up refreshed, rested and most of all, headache free! My Father is 79 and was referred to see Dr. Janjua from his Primary Care. He had a CT of the brain. He has had multiple episodes of forgetting what he did in the last 24 hours and also got lost driving being 2 miles from his home. When Dr. Janjua came in she was cold and rude. Never checked him physically. He gave her a list of his medications and told him to stop taking the meds for his prostate. He also told him not to drive. She was in the room for 5 minutes and never heard anything on his CT. This was truly disappointing for my father. We expected much more from a neurologist. Dr. Janjuja has no compassion for patients. She is like a robot. She does not return telephone calls. Asked her assistant to give message to her to inquire about my diagnosis (which I never got), she sent a message back saying it it was "numbness" which is the symptom!!. She doesn't know her diagnosis from her symptom. I wouldn't go back to her if I was dying!!!!! After leaving several phone messages, she never called back. I have been going to Dr. Janjua every 3 months for approximately two years and she is always very kind, listens to my concerns and makes every effort to address the problems I am having in regard to my migraines. DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR. I'm new to the area and was referred to Dr. Janjua. When I called for an appt. the woman who answered the phone was rude to me right off the bat. I explained that I have PPO insurance and that I have a family history that required yearly monitoring of my brain. Upon learning that I do not yet have a general physician she told me that they she would not make me an appointment because Dr. Janjua PREFERS not to have self referred patients. Even though I have a note from my previous neurologist, she would not help me. These people have no concept of customer service, not professionalism. I really felt the need to write a review for dr. Janjua and her staff. After seeing the negative reviews I was hesitant to go there as a new patient. Today when I checked in for my appointment I was greeted with smiles from the receptionists, they were friendly and helpful. I waited about 5 minutes. I was called back by the nurse who was super sweet and attentive. After waiting about 10 minutes Dr. Janjua came in, she was wonderful! Very kind and caring, she took the time to explain and answer questions, she was very informative and seemed that she really cared and wanted to help me. I have a lot of health issues that don't have to do with my reason for seeing Dr. Janjua but she took time to discuss my overall health. I feel like I got more information about my health issues than from other doctors I've been seeing for years! I highly recommend Dr. Janjua, and hope anyone who is a patient of hers has as great of a experience as I had! I look forward to continuing as a patient of hers. read more
