I stopped in after arriving to Chicago on a trip for my wife's work. It was simply nearby, No expectations going in. The staff was friendly, and speedy. The grilled wings I got were some of the most incredible chicken wings I've ever eaten. My actual order was garlic Parmesan grilled chicken wings which arrived quickly with a great portion size to fill me up with plenty of ranch and carrots/celery. The meat was falling off the bone as I bit into each wing and the crispy grilled goodness was to die for. My water cup was never empty and the wait time for a beer refill was almost in the negative. Was here a few time over several days when I was in the area for a convention. Its fine. The bartenders I had on all the nights were more efficient than friendly, but they were not in any way rude. The upstairs is much nicer (IMHO) as it is has more more natural light and gets less loud. Beer selection was decent, not as many IPA options as I would like, but what I would like and what makes sense for them as a business are likely two different things. I'd go back. I mean, I did. Loved the location, space and proximity to the Wintrust Arena. The restaurant is pretty large, and accessible to the second floor patio area (there is a large indoor and seems to be an outdoor space). The sport vibe is clearly embraced, as there are a plethora of large TVs spread out throughout the space, and it's across the street from Wintrust Arena. Additionally , the service was very prompt and accommodating - the server made my husband's Sprite "with a splash of lemonade" drink to perfection. However, I absolutely hated my chicken nachos (more nachos than anything), but my cocktail was pretty good. I'd go back, but would opt for a burger. read more

This place is right next to the Hilton's three hotels in one and you would think they'd have a restaurant open all day but they don't. Thankfully this place was next door and from 11am until the early morning I could go there and get good to great food. The place was humming the three times I ate here, not including my take out pizza. There was a large convention and they were always packed but the staff were all friendly and worked quickly. I didn't see anyone waiting more than five minutes before they were served their drink order. The place was noisy without an empty table in the place. I had on various visits; the burger, shrimp tacos and twice the pizzas. All was delicious and the prices were reasonable for where it was. Definitely worth a visit. Don't bother with the VU Rooftop up in the Hilton avoid the elevator and eat here. read more

Totally unfamiliar with this side of the city as I live way up north. We were in the area for a conference at McCormick place and had a lunch break. A group of us were looking for a place to eat. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere pub style decor, and food and the staff was accommodating to a point.. We had someone join our party late and they wanted them to sit at another table instead of with our group. They don't seem to be able to accommodate large parties. There were seven of us. The food was just OK we had the baked nachos and ordered it with steak, but it came out with chicken. They offered to bring another order with steak, but it never arrived. The people who ordered the burgers seem to like them. The shrimp tacos goes were very dry and I did not even finish one of them. Someone had the steak salad and he really enjoyed that. I don't really have much to compare it to in the area so I don't know whether it is one of the better places to go if you're around there or not, but if we go out to lunch another day well at the conference, I think I'll try to find something else. read more

My husband and I came here to watch the bears game. Came about an hour before the game started on Sunday night and had our pick of seats. We sat at the end of the bar. By the time kickoff happened, the bar was busy. Service was pretty good for how busy it was. We didn't order any regular food, only the fat cake. It was dense and rich and gigantic! While on vacation, my husband and I try to patronize non-chain restaurants & bars! This time, we choose Fatpour Tap works. We went in for a late lunch. I have to say, I was disappointed by the limited menu options. However, the food DID NOT disappoint! I ordered a classic burger with macaroni & cheese and tots as my sides! I ate the macaroni first.... OMG! It was to die for!!! Even though it was a small side, I still was only able to eat half of my hamburger! It was precisely cooked as ordered! My husband ordered an angry Adam burger with macaroni & cheese and fries. He was able to finish all of his, tho! Jessica, our waitress, was top- notch! She was very attentive to the things we needed while there! The atmosphere and ambiance was that of a private little 'hole in the wall' place! I would HIGHLY recommend you visit if ever in Chicago! I had a great experience dining at Fatpour with my best friend. It was an impromptu dinner, and the food was delicious. I ordered the Angry Adam--a burger topped with a crab cake--absolutely amazing! The honey mustard sauce and fries were on point, though the Brussels sprouts weren't my favorite. We also had drinks; mine was decent, but my best friend loved hers. Our server was fantastic--funny, informative, and super attentive. He checked on us regularly, making sure we had everything we needed, which really added to the experience. For dessert, I had something so good I had to force myself to save some for later. However, after eating the burger, my stomach didn't feel great--possibly because I'm recently transitioning from being a pescatarian. The next day, when reheating my leftovers, I found a small hair in my burger, which was disappointing. The atmosphere when I went was very busy. The layout seemed crowded and like people were on top of each other. The food was relatively good, but very pricey for what you received. Came here with a friend on a Sunday (BearDown). Ambiance was great mostly high table with booth seating. TVs everywhere you look, with every game playing: football, basketball, and powerlifting. After a certain time the lights were turned down and candles were lite(YAASSSSSSS Honey) Service was just ok. It's seemed as if they were short handed on staff. It's been a day and I'm still thinking and drooling over the most delicious burger I had. I came with a party of 3 after a convention at the McCormick place. No reservations but since it is in walking distance, we thought why not. The place looks pretty cool, plenty of seatings with a good view of the several tvs around the bar. We were seated right away in the upstairs area. After a moment of reviewing the menu, we all decided on various burgers. What I love is that my burger came with 2 sides to select from. I chose the salad and fry. The maple bacon burger was so perfectly made. So flavorful and juicy. The fries were pretty good as well, I like that the portion wasn't too big. I came to visit Chicago for the Auto Show and stayed at the Marriott across the street. I tried it out of the convenience its location to the hotel and it ended up being a pretty good spot that I went twice during my stay. The first time, I had the chicken and sausage cavatappi and my bf had the burger with fries. Both were yummy and the portions were pretty big! I had leftovers for the next couple Days! So the next time I went back I just got the Skinny B salad lol! The restaurant has 2 levels and both have bars. It can get crowded at night bc it's across the street from the Wintrust Arena. We were staying into town for the highly anticipated Oasis concert at soldier Field. Fat our Tap Works was within walking distance from our hotel & Soldier field, so it was perfect! Even with 40,000 British rock music fans in town it wasn't a problem to get a table quickly. Our waitress was amazing! She gave us tap & food recommendation which we ordered! The Queen and I ordered the Chicken and Waffle Bites, the Classic Burger, and Mac and Cheese. The Chicken and Waffle Bites were a bit of a disappointment. There was absolutely no flavor in the chicken, although it was fried nicely. Burgers and mac/cheese were ok once we doctored them up. Again, not much in the way of seasoning or flavor for us.
