Weather Mark Tavern is always a consistent choice! I've been visiting for years and the experience never disappoints. The ambiance is lively and comfortable. It's always a good place to grab a bite, drink, or to watch a game. My most recent visit was a few weeks ago. We stopped in during happy hour for drinks and burgers. We didn't even know that the burgers would be half off! That was a nice surprise. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. I can't recall her name, but we made sure to leave her a nice tip. I had the rum punch, which was terrific per usual. The burgers were also pretty good. The burger patty was a generous size, seasoned well, and cooked as requested. We all enjoyed our meals. The tavern will continue to be one of my favorite destinations in the South Loop. read more

I can guarantee myself a good time enjoying live sports on multiple huge screens and top quality service and food at Weather Mark Tavern! For a local sports bar/tavern, the restaurant boasts a diverse extensive menu to please any appetite. This time I chose the Caesar salad with grilled mahi-mahi. The mahi-mahi was a tad on the salty side, but that's because of the blackened rub spice, so note to self: ask for no blacken next time. Otherwise very fresh crisp romaine lettuce and side dressing. Being 100% Chinese, I admit I'm spoiled when it comes to fish so I highly recommend the mahi here. Accompanied by a fresh cold rosé makes this afternoon brunch a treat! Kudos to owner Mark who runs a tight ship, no pun intended... His staff is always professional, friendly and efficient. Like awesome waiter Stas who checks on you often w the warmest demeanor, but never rushing you. No wonder this place celebrates its 20th anniversary this year! Our run club had it's post - Chicago Marathon race meetup here to celebrate all of us crossing the finish line. It's a fun pub spot. Nice selection of beers, good food, and friendly service. Cozy neighborhood spot with plenty of seating and with just the right amount of quirkiness to it. read more

It's a great place to watch and to meetup with friends. It has all your standard bar favorites. Offering everything from salads, sandwiches, pizzas, burgers, and entrees. I got the southern hot sliders. Featuring turkey breast, sharp cheddar, bacon, tomatoes, on Hawaiian buns served with a dipping sauce. Awesome spot for some drinks and bar food before an event at Soldiers! It's a safe easy 20 min walk to the stadium...parking is another issue. Plenty of street spots (feed the meter), but max is 3 1/2 hours, so ended up getting a spot at 13th & MI via spot hero. I had called the day before for a reservation for 4 and table was ready when we arrived. They did a fantastic job managing the surge of people before the event and the service was excellent! Cheese curds were perfect & served in a large basket for the 4 of us. Boneless wines (great sauce) and pretzel bites almost finished us off...but there was still room for delicious burger and salads. The $8 for a pint of Zombie Dust was less than half a beer at Soldiers ($17 ). Happy vibe and sports on the tvs make it a great experience! read more

Weathermark is a local South Loop gem; great place to get an affordable bite and drink and to watch sports. (They have really good specials on rotation!) My wife and I happen to be in the neighborhood today and decide to try this place for brunch. It is a huge mistake. We place our order and wait for over 45 minutes without seeing our server even once. When I finally decide to check, I go to see if our order has even been communicated to the kitchen. It hasn't. The waitress explains that the kitchen is "really backed up," but almost no one is eating. Most of the patrons are just drinking and watching a college football game. The place has plenty of tables, plus a patio with a garage door that opens, giving you a nice inside/outside vibe. There are a few TVs along the bar wall and one in back, but it would be better if they added more along the stripped wall, since sitting at a table means you're facing away from the screens. The staff was friendly, though a bit slow. We really appreciated the light fare options on the menu. We ordered the roasted beet & kale superfood salad with mahi mahi and the Mediterranean salad. We came for but all you can eat fish and chips on a Friday night on 3/14/25. They also have a happy hour menu from 4 to 6 PM Monday through Friday. I am not sure if this all you can deal is just for lent or bc it's close to St Patrick's Day in 3 days. The atmosphere is fun and lots of tables and lots of TV flatscreen everywhere to watch sports and drink and eat with. They have three bathrooms. And they have outdoor seating. And they have a window that looks like a garage window, which is really nice. The corned beef dish for About $19.50 was really good. This was the special St Patties Day menu. The food took a very long time to come out for 2 dishes and 1 second round of extra fish and chips platter. We stayed almost 2 hours bc the food came so late. Fun atmosphere and the food was good ... just took too long. Parking on the street with meters at $2.50 per hour. Parking was easy to find at night starting around 5pm. Staff was friendly. read more

This place is near work, so I have stopped in to kill time before meeting my husband. I really like the tone of the place, and they do have daily draft specials on some days. It has been my experience that they get very crowded when something is going on at Soldier Field. The bartenders I have encountered have been very outgoing and fun. Grabbed a couple drinks here the other night with my best friend and enjoyed the atmosphere. There happened to be a few specials that night: half priced bottles of wine and $12 pizzas. We indulged in the wine special by ordering a couple bottles of rose. We skipped on the pizza and ordered a couple apps (cheese curds and boneless wings). Sadness. I must downgrade my review. What happened to the Cruzan Rum battered fish fry? *sigh* Went here for a fish fry, after a long absence. Sadly, it was not as good. The fish fillets were fine, but the breading was thick, not very crispy and downright soggy in places. The red cabbage slaw was still good, as was the dill tartar sauce. Specialty cocktails were OVERLY sweet. Generous size, which is good, but a bit too sweet. Service was stellar, the staff is friendly and attentive. But the fish fry is just not as good anymore. It's a typical neighborhood spot with casual atmosphere, big TVs, and straightforward menu. We arrived for an after dinner beer on a Friday and it was very busy. We were seated quickly and service was friendly and very warm. It was our first time even though we've lived in the neighborhood for years. We learned that the kitchen was closed for 45 min because a large party was seated which I thought was weird and a bummer as we wanted to sample the famous pretzel bites. We had a couple beers, a cocktail, and learned later that the kitchen reopened so did get our snack order in. They food was so so. The drinks were okay, but it was our friendly server that made it a better experience. We had brunch there today. It took a while for everyone to get there and our waitress was great at keeping an eye on our table. We were also under a time constraint and we were able to order when the last straggler arrived because our waitress was right there. Our food came quickly. We got a whole range of things: hash, salad, bratwurst, chicken and waffles. Everyone enjoyed their food, there were no complaints. The menu was solid. There wasn't anything fancy, but it was tasty. This is a very underrated restaurant. Very easy to pass by. I went to brunch on a Sunday at this place. Very amazing and quick service. I attend a birthday brunch of 25 people people and the server who served us, white young lady with a blonde pixie hair cut, did an amazing job catering to each person in addition to ensuring there was always enough mimosas flowing around. (Everyone partook in the $15/ person unlimited mimosas). I ordered the crab cake Benedict and my friend ordered the chicken hash. Both were filling dishes.
