Pros: The place is pretty large and there are tons and tons of equipment. There is an indoor pool that can be used for lap swimming, water aerobics, and rehabilitation purposes. There are TVs. There is music. It's mainly elderly people so you dont have a bunch of lunks grunting and acting like they're some breed of human/bear/gorilla hybrid. The front desk always has someone there. They provide you with towels. Everyone there is nice, easy going, respectful, and nonjudgemental. The main bathrooms are nice and have two showers. (There is a men's and a women's so don't worry they aren't unisex) There are other restrooms scattered throughout the facility. It's quiet and in a nice area of town. They have several classes such as boot camp, restorative yoga, flow yoga, water aerobics, body shaping, circuit training, and 55+ aerobics. They have a room for curvy girls and people who don't feel comfortable in the free weights area. There is a room full of treadmills and another room full of ellipticals. They have popcorn. Score! There's tanning. There's a masseuse. There's a sauna. Cons: It closes on Sundays and has weird hours the rest of the week. The equipment is mostly old and worn but to be fair is still perfectly usable. It's a little pricey, but if you pay for several months in advance it's much more tolerable price wise. The music is usually Nickleback or Shinedown. There's a lot of religious propaganda scattered around that people leave posted for some reason. The tanning is $10 per use. The good classes are always so early in the morning when I'm busy getting my kid to school. The TVs are almost always on country music or cooking channels. I'm sorry, but I don't want to hear about some singer's depressing marriage or watch someone cook food while I'm starving and sweating to death trying to lose weight. The pool is always hot as balls. It's relaxing, but sometimes after hauling ass on a treadmill or elliptical for an hour you want to cool down. Anyways, I love this place, so don't let the three stars fool you. I just have exceptionally high standards. I blame Obama.

They don't really offer childcare as advertised. It's a very small window of time that childcare is available. You can not cancel your membership over the phone or by email. You have to give written notice in person. However, you never know when someone is there or not. See above mentioned, no staff on duty during regular business hours. They really are not easy to work with at all.

The group of people that make up each part of the multitude of companies within Bastrop fitness project are such a unique and caring group of people. I have wondered if two stars is too high. The staff was extremely friendly so that is the only reason I am giving it two. The course should be shut down. I get it is January and the grass would be dormient. That does not explain the "moon scape" of the fairways. Huge potholes everywhere. The tee boxes are so hard you can't get tees in them. Then there are the tee boxes that have backhoe damage on them. Why is a backhoe on a tee box? Then the greens are a joke. The sand traps have rocks in them. If I had paid $15 maybe it would be ok. That is a huge maybe. My husband and I play golf a lot all over the world. This is the worst course conditions we have ever had. It may have been better not to play golf? We looked on line and saw they had some tee times the day of so that is why we went. The price on line was $38. We drove there and to book there on sight was $45. The day wasn't great as well as the pace of play was so so so slow. We had a four some of ladies playing best ball. Two of the four couldn't hit the ball more than four feet or swang and miss. I am all for newbies. Especially ladies. However, you got to be smart about it. It wouldn't have been difficult to let us play through either as we were usually at the tee box with them. Thankfully, they stopped at the turn and only played nine and that is when we found out it really didn't matter because they had a foursome in front of them that was drunk and as bad at golf as the ladies with mouths of sailors. We got so fed-up we drove through on hole 13. I don't know if I have seen people so drunk on a golf course in a while. I do blame the lady at the front. It was clear she knew them. We were a twosome. We knew it was going to be slow, but we could have also gone off before them. When we drove through the last foursome, we didn't have anyone in front of us the rest of the round no matter how fast we went. We play fast. Additionally, on the front nine we had the two some behind us drive into us three times. It is so unacceptable. We were stuck between a slow foursome and a fast twosome. The last time he hit into us I drove back to him and said please go in front of us and see what we are dealing with. I wish I could say it was one guy. We got hit into again on the back nine by another player. Unreal! It sort of speaks to the type of players on this course. Newbies, that drink while they play and don't get the unspoken rules of golf. Do note there is no attire restrictions on this course. Overall, a bad day on a golf course is a better than a day at work but this wasn't really golf. This was hitting a white ball in the hill country. Save your money and time and go elsewhere. We had played here before, so we know it wasn't this bad the last time we played here. Hard to say is it going down or is it on its way up. Along the river you can see they are doing some work, but we will not be back. Not for the condition of the course.
