Price is like $35 buck a weekend tee time. I think the quality of grass really depends on how much it has been raining. Two years ago, little rain- dusty fairways.....this year we have had a wet summer--- green fairways. I don't remember seeing a cart girl/woman out this year but I was pretty doped up on muscle relaxers for my back so......... I do enjoy the course set up. Some blind shots, large and small greens, and you also get to play besides the Colorado River.

I'm not sure why this place has such bad reviews... You have to know what you are getting with $30 for 18 holes and a cart. I had a great time here. The course is in a BEAUTIFUL area, right along the Colorado river, and there are plenty of scenic holes that are smack in the middle of very wooded areas. Although the course isn't perfectly maintained, it is still very playable, especially for the price. There are a few par 3s where the tee box is really up high, and you shoot down a major drop onto the green, which always really fun. There are a few holes where you hit across the river or creek which is also cool. There are several parts of the course that are pretty narrow, and a little unforgiving for novice golfers, but it is still fun. One weird thing was that all the golf carts were gas powered. It was weird to hear the engine fire up every time I hit the gas pedal, and it made it a little difficult to zip around without bothering the other twosome in our group. Also, several of the holes are really far apart from each other, so it definitely NOT a walking course. The breakfast tacos in the clubhouse are pretty good too. $1.50 each for something quick.

Tee shot on #11! Not intimidating at all!

What an excellent little golf course far off the beaten path. How they carved a course out of the cliffs, ravines, and river bottoms adjacent the Colorado River is a mystery to me, but what a gem! Par threes with huge elevation changes, blind tee shots on several holes, and of course the "pull" of the river in the flat holes adjacent the water. Strongly recommend you seek this one out and play a round if in the Bastrop area!

Course is looking great and continues to improve everyday. Pro shop very clean and organized.

    Great hill country golf.

Oh, they absolutely deliver. It's like stepping into a chic little slice of Paris, sprinkled with Southern charm and just enough effortlessly cool, slightly snobby energy to make you feel like you've made a very good life choice by being there. The atmosphere works for everything--an easy lunch, a romantic dinner, and honestly, brunch here probably deserves its own fan club. I ordered the crab cakes off the appetizer menu, and let me tell you, they understood the assignment. Light, fresh, and flavorful--basically the perfect excuse to save room for what you're really here for: the pastries. And the pastries... wow. Not just hype--fully justified hype. Vanilla bean brioche, chocolate croissant, lemon blueberry thyme loaf--and of course, one of their famous chocolate chip cookies. Every bite felt like a tiny, delicious flex. Like, yes, I do have excellent taste, thank you for noticing. Safe to say, the bold claim doesn't just hold up--it struts.

For the past few years I have carried my dad's Big Bertha around in my trunk, hoping that on my many trips to the Bastrop area for projects, I would one day have time to stop in and hit some long ones. About 6 months ago, I returned said club to said dad, kinda bummed that I never made time to hit the small ball 300 yards. When I stopped in last week sans club and balls and tees and glove and comfortable golf clothes, peaceful owner Steve did not seem to mind. His Zen approach was refreshing - he reminded me of Chevy Chase's quirky, relaxed character Ty Webb in Caddyshack. A five spot got me a bucket of about 50 golf balls, three borrowed sticks - I chose 9 and 5 cavity-back irons and then he handed me a 3 wood which, of course, was not "wood" at all, but titanium. So, for $6.50 total for the 50 balls and the bag of tees, I was able to spend a half hour of fun in the sun trying to sink into the rhythm -- the grip, the swing, the bent knees, the relaxed shoulders and elbows -- that IS golf. "Be the ball...slow down your breathing and BE the ball...relax." Caddyshack altered my golf paradigm back in 1980 from a serious, uptight, clenched-teeth ahhhctiviteee to an entertaining, Zen way to BE. The guys next to me were bangin' balls all day for $10... it was like an all-day buffet. In addition to a golf range, this is also a repair shop. New grip = $2 per club. Broken shaft = $10.
