He refuses to get the ice cream machines in proper order, and blames the employees for his inability to invest in the store. He has kept one of the same employees who is downright worthless on the floor for six years. She constantly berates everyone and is his little pet. He refuses to fire her after her constant mistreatment of the workers. Not only that the main managers daughter gets to call out whenever she pleases without repercussions. Yet I heard when my friends called out on a day that things went wrong for them they got written up. I don't work here, but I can confirm this is all true from the times I've dined in. Ice cream waits are ridiculous. And I've heard that woman cussing and hollering at the other employees. I don't know her name but some of them call her dotty. Overall this store will benefit when the family owning it dies or sells it. Don't give this place any of your money, because the owner really only lines his pockets and expects people to work for him while he talks down to them. Seriously. STAY AWAY FROM THE CALHOUN DAIRY QUEEN. At least until that godawful Abernathy family loses control.

We arrived at a little after 1 pm. My husband had a hamburger and said it was good. My chicken sandwich consisted of two very small and dried up chicken strips instead of a large meaty chicken breast pictured on the menu. The chicken was not fresh.... no where near fresh. I could not even bite through the dried up breading. I tried to take the breading off and just eat the chicken to get a little protein in my stomach but there wasn't much meat... it was all breading. Oh well! Lesson learned. There was a different fast food restaurant just down the street where the food is ALWAYS fresh and hot. I'll go for the sure-thing next time.

The ice cream came in an unusual number of flavors - I think most of it was Mayfield so you'll be familiar with most of the base flavors. The pistachio I tried was good and not terribly sweet, a pet peeve of mine. The orange vanilla swirl tasted just like a dreamcycle but very sweet.
