I ordered a banana split. The person that I spoke with told me how great their banana split was and so I had to let him know that I was from one of the two cities in America that claim responsibility for inventing the banana split. Wilmington Ohio is the one and the other one doesn't even count. So, they made it just like the ones in Wilmington, which are slightly different than the standard one that they normally make, but it end up being absolutely perfect! The three ice creams are vanilla, chocolate and strawberry, the three standard toppings are hot fudge, pineapple, and strawberry. In addition to that the ones from Wilmington Ohio, always had marshmallow cream topping overall of it. Wonderful, whipped cream and three cherries. This place did it right for sure! You can find Coconuts Ice Cream at 115 S Gilmer St towards the center of Cartersville on the I75 side. Parking is to one side of the Flatiron shaped building - it also has a drive though that's very busy. I was hesitant to try this place, mostly the long line of cars will usually make me look for something less busy. I was assured that there was a walk up window on the other side - turned out the walk up like had about a dozen people. The like took about 10 minutes which wasn't bad. Service was very good with very receptive staff who were good at proving answers. The ice cream came in an unusual number of flavors - I think most of it was Mayfield so you'll be familiar with most of the base flavors. The pistachio I tried was good and not terribly sweet, a pet peeve of mine. The orange vanilla swirl tasted just like a dreamcycle but very sweet. Overall the ice cream was good if not exceptional, the service exceptional. Most are in their parked cars but there are also picnic tables that appeared clean and well maintained. Next time I'll try a sundae as they looked to be very popular. read more

I've been coming here for around 15yrs. This is where you get a cold treat in Cartersville!! Great ice cream (#Smokey Mountain Fudge and #Espresso Chip)!! Shaved ice is amazing and it seams like sky is the limit on flavors. The owners are magnificent and you can tell they have a high standard for their employees. Everyone is very nice and service is always great! Be prepared, if you arrive during a normal dessert hour you may have to wait in a line. Everyone wants a piece of Coconuts! No indoor seating but they have some picnic tables outside that provides a sweet spot for families to sit or grab your sweet treat and talk a walk around downtown. This seems to be the spot to go to in Cartersville for ice cream. I ventured here on a date couple weeks back. My date and her daughter come here frequently, so she insisted we try it. It's a very quaint boutique ice cream parlor, and you'd easily miss it or mistake it for a really small business (it's on a side street in an industrial area). First thing that stands out is this place is tiny! Like it should be in a tiny home community. There is no inside for customers (similar to Brusters) so it's either walk up to the side window or drive thru. For customers driving up, you'll be sitting on the side road to make your entrance and it's REALLY hard to read the sign on the flavors if you're more than two cars back. Hence, why I didn't get a shot of their flavors. Parking here seems to be fairly limited but there is a plethora of stone tables to sit at if you opt for the walk-up option. Walk-up also seems to be the quickest option. We came at a random time on a Wednesday and were 6 cars back. Thankfully they have two dual order windows. I ordered the banana pudding ice cream with a waffle cone, and it was amazing. It had 'Nila waffle pieces in it, which completed it. It did taste like banana pudding. I wish I could tell you the other flavors, but it was quick draw/pull trigger by the time I pulled up. I would highly recommend this spot. Be prepared for a wait if you are doing drive up. Best option is to park, if you can find a spot, and do walk-up. Another unique gem to Cartersville. read more

After eating at a nearby restaurant, we decided to walk around the area. It turned out that right behind the restaurant we were at was Coconuts Ice Cream--perfect! The outside looks really quirky and small. As we approached the store, it didn't look like anybody was inside, but when we opened the door, there was about 8 people being served. Wow!
