Alex Johnson is the reason it didn't go further than a quote, but then is upset when I review that? I never pretended, lied, nor implied that I booked this company. They shouldn't be upset or surprised that their customer service, communication, and lack of professionalism are scrutinized equally to their services. Reviews are public on Yelp. I will give one star reviews to any business that I'm unhappy with, just like this one. I've also given many 5 star, including for many of the businesses I ended up booking for my wedding.

A gem of a person to work with from the start, she takes the job seriously - crafting the night to fit our sensibilities (as a couple and knowing who our guests would be) perfectly, but also leaving room to feel the vibe in the room and adjust up or down accordingly. (Side bar: when my partner's mother demanded we release YMCA from the no-play list and do it, Clare knew exactly how to get the immediately evacuated dancefloor bumping again). She has fun, adds excitement with her announcements and personality and is willing to think outside the box to make your event feel like a true party. We were blown away by the final playlist. All DJs are not created equal! Groove is in the Heart (and DJ Clare specifically) are A+++.

We made our own dance floor playlist and were expecting the DJ to play it all after they said it was great. But, the day of the wedding, the DJ told my husband they were having Wi-Fi issues and couldn't access the playlist. He didn't know why the songs on the playlist weren't downloaded by the DJ before the wedding in case there were Wi-Fi issues. Guests also requested songs multiple times and were told by the DJ that they couldn't be played due to the Wi-Fi issues. Then when I asked why our playlist wasn't played, I was told "You didn't say the playlist was a must play". I wish we were told by the DJ that we needed to say that the entire playlist was "must play" during the planning phase.The DJ also didn't read the room and hype up our guests to get on the dance floor until the last song, so it felt a little dead throughout the wedding. The guests that danced were OK with the playlist, thankfully, but the DJ experience was pretty disappointing overall. If we knew the DJ experience was going to be sub-par, we probably wouldn't have paid our venue's additional audio tie-in fee.

Norah is the coolest and was a joy to work with for our May 2026 wedding. We met Norah on a zoom…read morecall and later had 2-3 other calls to gather details and talk through the flow of the day. We contracted her as both our DJ and photobooth operator. In the months leading up to our wedding, Norah gave us access to a digital platform called Vibo DJ to add songs directly from Spotify/Apple Music, which made plugging in playlists a breeze. The platform also provided a loose timeline for the day/what song is played when, which was very helpful. The day of, Norah arrived on time and kept the good vibes going! She proactively managed the potential echo in our venue (which had vaulted ceilings). The photobooth was a hit with guests, Norah provided a backdrop, the camera, printed photo strips, as well as a guest book for guests to tape in photos/write notes. Norah's personality was what sold us. She was easy-going, kind, and so fun to talk to! She went above and beyond for us, even offering to mix a Father/Daughter dance mashup for us. We always looked forward to speaking with her throughout the planning process. If you are looking for a DJ for your event, Norah is your girl!

During the planning process, he was incredibly thorough and direct, which I appreciated. During your first meeting, he provides a portal where you can note any requests and no plays, in addition to specifiying your first dance, entrance choices, etc. Ruki coordinated with my friends for surprise dances and also provided excellent MC-ing such as calling out table numbers for the buffet. The amber uplighting and moving lights he provided in the South Asian package were also amazing and perfectly set the vibe I was going for! Ruki is no doubt the best at what he does and I can't wait to have another opportunity to hire him again for a work event or another occasion

We had contracted with Ruki Dole to be our DJ for three events during our wedding weekend. He did…read morenot show up due to a food poisoning, which we would completely understand if it is the case. However, 10 days before our wedding, we had a meeting with him to review the details. Afterwards, we emailed him a couple of times with some changes and questions and we did not hear back at all. Not from him or anyone else on his team. The replacement DJ he sent for the wedding ceremony was very clearly not prepared. During the wedding weekend, the replacements he sent were mediocre at best. For the Sangeet and Reception, the DJs were fine and we were grateful the events went on without much trouble. However, for our wedding ceremony, the DJ he sent was terrible. The DJ did not mix the songs during the Baarat, he would continue playing whole songs from a playlist we provided. The least he could have done was mixed the songs to appropriate lengths. During the ceremony, he failed to play the Phera music on time and he didn't even announce us as husband and wife at the end of the ceremony. He also did not play our exit song when we walked down the aisle after the wedding. On top of that, when our wedding planner asked him to announce something, it would be so muffled that no one heard him, and in some cases he just didn't announce it. During our Vidai, the DJ was no where to be found. Once our planner located him, it took him forever to set up the speaker which he couldn't even bring outside afterwards (it was supposed to be a mobile DJ cart to move from inside to outside the venue for the Vidai). This is very frustrating considering we provided Ruki with detailed spreadsheets including all of this information, we provided multiple playlists to play during the events (which he said would be mixed), and our planner provided a detailed timeline as well. We had also discussed him providing MC services during our reception which was not able to be fulfilled by the replacement DJ. He couldn't even attempt to pronounce our names, let alone introduce the rest of the family entrances. Because of this, we had the extra stress of figuring out someone else to MC the reception within hours. Overall, yes, Ruki sent replacement DJs and did not leave us hanging which we are grateful for. However, the DJs were not up to the standard based on the investment we made (especially the DJ during the wedding ceremony). It has been nearly 3 weeks since our wedding, and we have not heard from Ruki with any sort of explanation or apology. I would not recommend.

Our DJ was Q, and he also did a fantastic job finding all of the music we needed and bearing with us as we got some final songs to him the day before the wedding. Q kept everyone on the dance floor all night and had the perfect personality for the evening. He was able to get everyone involved and laughing while not being too intrusive throughout the night.
