My foot is in need of repair and-- my left knee needs replaced. He is VERY experienced and he was extremely thoughtful in how to explain my situation without talking over my head. ALL he said and did make GREAT sense to me. We can try the nonsurgical method of treatment after the knee is put in. If I needed a more complicated procedure, he openly/honestly said it could be done-- although a colleague Surgeon of his, who is experienced with that procedure, he would recommend to me. We both agreed to try the less invasive first...and THAT being done AFTER I got the new knee. He told me to talk it over with my knee surgeon 1st and see if he agreed. I did..and my Knee surgeon is in total agreement with Dr. Conui's assessment and gave him high praises for such an accurate, well educated & honest opinion. Dr. Conui will always be my Podiatrist/Surgeon from now on until he retires. The staff in his Wakefield, Ma. office are TOP NOTCH also! VERY GOOD group there. Made m feel at home!

6/23/22 With my new job and busy schedule unfortunately I…read morehave had no time to pay attention to my feet or discuss a lot of the stressors that feet have to endure in settings where there are a lot of high volume boxes and tripping hazards. Time goes by very quickly since my last visit with Dr. Z (previous posts) my primary foot doctor who has since retired so I needed to have somebody to literally fill his shoes and figuratively help me walk better in mine! Basically what happened is with age the nail in my two toes has weakened even though it has been cut back and cleaned up so it gets very thick and tends to get caught though it had remained stable for about 2 or three years since seeing Dr. Z. I had a little scare Memorial Day when I stubbed the left one really bad so the nail was dislodged -it was late at night I remember feeling a frustrated with myself and a little bit sour that I might have to miss some things I wanted to do. Er did what they could to keep me positive and I reached out to friends and family to find a new foot doctor. Dr ruhl is in a very convenient location for me in Woburn and I was able to get a non-urgent appointment which let the toe settle down so I would be ready for important treatment and recovery. Cameron met me outside as he was coming back from lunch and made a funny joke about the sandal and characteristic look I had of a new patient! Laura the nurse came in and really gave me some background so much that I thought I might have miss heard who she was and mistaken her title or name because she had the diagnostic skill of a doctor! Dr. Ruhl came in with scrubs and also assured me the best course of action along with what to expect. He had a very steady hand and worked efficiently but I never felt rushed as he left me with extra bandages, toe tubes, and most importantly a sense of relief that I had excellent care and really a new way of dealing with change so that I can continue to be successful, grateful, and a little more humble about how I interact with people as spiritually the condition of my feet is very much about showing hospitality without drawing attention to the limiting factors as much as the solutions that keep me grounded in truth. Dr. Alper treated an ingrown toenail of mine way back in 1999 so imagine my surprise when my son's…read morepediatrician recommended Dr. Alper for my teenager 13 years later. I had had such a great experience with Dr. Alper the first time, that when my son's doctor gave me the name, I recognized it instantly. My son has had ingrown nail issues as well and has had to see Dr. Alper twice, so far, and will need to return two more times very soon. That said, even my 14-year old son, who has doctor anxiety and nearly passed out in Dr. Alper's office on his second visit, likes the dear man. He's not crazy about what he has to have done, but because Dr. Alper is so kind, efficient, great at what he does and is personable, my son doesn't mind going back to him. Now, if you can get a teen to admit to that, that's a pretty good endorsement.

I'm not sure how to rate a Podiatrist on a scale of 1-5 stars. I don't have a variety of experience…read morewith different podiatrists to be able to differentiate. So look at my 5 star as an endorsement and recommendation if you need a podiatrist. It is probably important to note that my issue was a toe nail issue developed in college from playing alot of sports. I did not go for any ankle or other structural issues. - Easy to get appointment. Open early so I can go before work. - Billing was easy. They even mailed me a receipt for my records. They are check only I believe, but that was not a problem for me. - Easy to get refills on my prescription (good when your prescription is for something slow like toenails)
