My foot is in need of repair and-- my left knee needs replaced. He is VERY experienced and he was extremely thoughtful in how to explain my situation without talking over my head. ALL he said and did make GREAT sense to me. We can try the nonsurgical method of treatment after the knee is put in. If I needed a more complicated procedure, he openly/honestly said it could be done-- although a colleague Surgeon of his, who is experienced with that procedure, he would recommend to me. We both agreed to try the less invasive first...and THAT being done AFTER I got the new knee. He told me to talk it over with my knee surgeon 1st and see if he agreed. I did..and my Knee surgeon is in total agreement with Dr. Conui's assessment and gave him high praises for such an accurate, well educated & honest opinion. Dr. Conui will always be my Podiatrist/Surgeon from now on until he retires. The staff in his Wakefield, Ma. office are TOP NOTCH also! VERY GOOD group there. Made m feel at home!

6/23/22 With my new job and busy schedule unfortunately I…read morehave had no time to pay attention to my feet or discuss a lot of the stressors that feet have to endure in settings where there are a lot of high volume boxes and tripping hazards. Time goes by very quickly since my last visit with Dr. Z (previous posts) my primary foot doctor who has since retired so I needed to have somebody to literally fill his shoes and figuratively help me walk better in mine! Basically what happened is with age the nail in my two toes has weakened even though it has been cut back and cleaned up so it gets very thick and tends to get caught though it had remained stable for about 2 or three years since seeing Dr. Z. I had a little scare Memorial Day when I stubbed the left one really bad so the nail was dislodged -it was late at night I remember feeling a frustrated with myself and a little bit sour that I might have to miss some things I wanted to do. Er did what they could to keep me positive and I reached out to friends and family to find a new foot doctor. Dr ruhl is in a very convenient location for me in Woburn and I was able to get a non-urgent appointment which let the toe settle down so I would be ready for important treatment and recovery. Cameron met me outside as he was coming back from lunch and made a funny joke about the sandal and characteristic look I had of a new patient! Laura the nurse came in and really gave me some background so much that I thought I might have miss heard who she was and mistaken her title or name because she had the diagnostic skill of a doctor! Dr. Ruhl came in with scrubs and also assured me the best course of action along with what to expect. He had a very steady hand and worked efficiently but I never felt rushed as he left me with extra bandages, toe tubes, and most importantly a sense of relief that I had excellent care and really a new way of dealing with change so that I can continue to be successful, grateful, and a little more humble about how I interact with people as spiritually the condition of my feet is very much about showing hospitality without drawing attention to the limiting factors as much as the solutions that keep me grounded in truth. My experience at Excell Orthopedics in Woburn was extremely disappointing…read more The office staff was friendly, welcoming, and I was seen right on time. My intake was completed, my medications were reviewed, and I was sent for X-rays before seeing the physician. The problem is that when I scheduled the appointment, I clearly explained the reason I needed to be seen, provided the testing that had already been completed, and filled out the online questionnaire detailing my symptoms and medical history. When the doctor entered the room, he asked why I was there. After I explained, he told me he does not treat that condition and would refer me to Neurology--even though Neurology was the specialty that referred me to him in the first place. I appreciate the doctor's honesty and that he did not attempt to treat something outside his area of expertise. However, it is frustrating that no one reviewed my referral, records, test results, or questionnaire beforehand. Had they done so, someone could have informed me that this provider does not treat my condition, saving me from leaving work, paying a specialist copay, undergoing unnecessary X-rays, and incurring additional insurance costs. The appointment lasted less than 10 minutes. The doctor reviewed EMG results I was already aware of and documented that my symptoms could be related to neuropathy, despite my explaining that my neuropathy affects my legs and feet, has significantly improved, and is not related to the shoulder and hand symptoms that began while taking a medication. I contacted a manager afterward, who acknowledged the issue and said she would educate the staff and get back to me. More than 24 hours later, I have not received a follow-up. While I appreciate the commitment to staff education, it does not address the time, money, and energy I lost, including the copays and additional imaging costs. Overall, this felt like a completely avoidable situation that should have been identified before I ever arrived for the appointment. My appointment was at 2:20 I checked in my receipt says 2:13, the women who checked me in was extremely kind and we chatted a few - I was brought back right at 2:20, went for xray at 2:30 after sitting going over my medications ect .. back to the room. The X-ray tech was very friendly also! I was back in my car at 2:43.

The "predator" review is spot on. I took a chance on this doctor in desperation to address extreme…read moreanxiety. I knew it was an "off-the-board" kind of treatment, but decided to give it a try. My exasperation with the "official" medical establishment is one factor that led me here. TL;DR: turns out it's basically homeopathy, meaning lame, unconvincing sleight (and I mean VERY sleight) of hand combined with meaningless psychobabble. Along with two assistants, she went through a procedure that is supposed to find all the bad stuff your body has problems with: She has you hold your arm up and resist her pushing on it, while putting pressure on some part of the body or resting a bottle of some substance on your stomach. When something is "good," you "successfully" resist her pushing. When it's "bad", she waggles your arm back and forth too quickly for you to adjust and push back and says "that organ is weak." It's kind of like you're a human Ouija board, LOL. She kept asking if I understood if I "got it" how one thing was strong and one was weak based on this, and I said, "uh, not really, it just seems like you're changing how periodically you push and pull." She testily said "NO. If you don't get this, we can't continue." (and of course the payment has already cleared the bank) After a few minutes of this, I'm thinking "This is nonsense." I figured I would be polite and wait til they were done and then just never come back. I occasionally asked clarifying questions, and she seemed to think her answers had some kind of logic to them, but nothing she said made any sense. At over an hour in, it was getting difficult to not roll my eyes. She went through the same routine with the bottles of vitamins I brought with me. Presses bottle to my chest, waggles my arm. "Bad." Another bottle. Waggle. "Bad bad." She read the ingredients of my Vitamin C & Zinc bottle, telling me how bad it is, and then suggested I "give this to someone you hate." :o That's what you call "professional." Then she pulled out some "gene chart" that any layperson isn't going to know up from down, throws out some impressive terminology, and said we need to test my genes. It will take from 15m to an hour. "ANOTHER HOUR?" I said. "Well, only if your genes have problems." I am not a rude person, and do not like confrontation, but at that point I abruptly sat up and said "I need to go." I got up and went to put my shoes on and collect my belongings from the table near the door. "But, we're not--" I told her this was absolute BULLSHIT and walked out. The three of them stood there with mouths agape as if this has NEVER happened before. This is "health care" for the hard of thinking. The old phrase pops to mind: "Be open-minded, but not SO open-minded that your brains fall out." (LOL to the 4-star reviewer who seems to think they are being overly critical)

It is not often I feel compelled to write a review, however, Dr Medwar and her team deserve this!…read moreFirst off, I am a registered nurse and believe in western medicine because that is what I was taught. I thought eastern medicine was mmmm a hoax! My daughter and son in law gave my husband and I the gift of life when they gave us gift cards for the initial 3 visits for evaluation. I decided to go in with an open mind. Not going to lie, my husband and I were a bit skeptical during the evaluation phase but decided to follow through because it was already paid for and we felt we had nothing to lose. We are both overweight and in an unhealthy state at present. My husband's diabetes was out of control. In just four short weeks we have both lost 15-20#'s! My husband's diabetes blood sugar has gone from 250-350 on massive doses of insulin down to 80-130 on less than 1/3 of the insulin he was taking! I use to nap on my days off just to get through the day. I am now sleeping less overnight and no longer taking naps! My energy level is that of a younger woman. I cringed a little with the price of the supplements but they do last for the initial "detox" period. So, you can either pay for prescriptions to treat bad health, or you can get in her program and pay for great health and wellness! Thank you Dr Medwar and team for setting my husband and I on the right path. Life is good again! To the nay sayers and the ones who wrote the bad reviews, did you go in with an open mind? Did you let Dr Medwar complete her evaluation? Did you try her program? If you haven't then you should. In just 3-4 weeks my husband and I both started to feel great. Bullshit this is not!
