I have always been very happy with the service. And always happy with their product suggestions when I have issues (urinals, external catheters, grabbers, and much more). I do buy some products online for convenience, but I try to start with this store because they help me choose the right product and offer excellent service for what they sell. Joe showed her the options, then said that they also rent chairs, so I could try it at home for 30 or 60 days, or just rent it for the period I needed. After 30 days we knew that we wanted to buy the chair. Their price was better than other companies, and they credited the rental fee to the purchase price, making it a great value. 2 years later there was a problem with the chair, the back collapsed and the remote couldn't bring it up. Calling the manufacturer for what we thought was a 7 year warranty, ends up on certain parts were covered. They couldn't even offer a service call because they don't have a Boston service supplier. I called Northshore and described the issue, they had a service tech out that day to review the problem. He couldn't figure out the fix. Joe came out at 8 pm and within 15 minutes the chair was working like new, at no charge. This is an excellent local company. I would recommend them highly.

Pump ended up being defective (had scratches on the case and tear in rubber casing where the tubes connected.) CMS refused to exchange it because I opened the box -- how would I know anything was wrong otherwise? -- and told me to call the manufacturer. None of which gets me the pump that I originally wanted and added a lot of stress for a new mom. Also, they charge $10 for shipping which the other pump suppliers DO NOT. I ordered from them thinking that going local was better -- but wish I had just ordered from an out of town supplier that may have actually helped me. Buyer beware.

Had a telehealth appointment that ended a half hour before the pharmacy closed. I immediately drove over there assuming there would be rigamarole getting me into the system as a new customer. I was shocked that in the minutes it took me to drive over, the pharmacist already had my prescription filled and ready to go, plus he had found my insurance in the database, so everything was set. The entire transaction from entering the store to leaving took about 90 seconds, all I had to do was pay. Will definitely return!

The good: local distribution of medical supplies you can get yourself quickly if you need it. The…read moreselection isn't that varied. But the little hole in the wall shop does seem to have one of everything- scooter, walker, wheelchair, safety rails, orthotic shoes, etc. If you were injured and immobilized and needed a mobility device immediately, this is your only option, and I think Boston is fairly lucky to have it. The less good: the prices are really high for what you get. You are paying a mark up for convenience and can get higher quality items for much less online or even from the other suppliers in the area who work with insurance. The selection is extremely limited. If you can wait, do that. Rentals involve a random quote from a random guy in the store after talking to another random person and calling in advance does not connect you to the store (I guess online sales may be how they stay in business? No one is actually coming to this store at the end of a long dark hallway with one little printed sign on the front door). There's nothing written down and I found out later when they called me about extending the rental that these prices are extremely negotiable. Nothing is priced in the store either, so I grossly overpaid for some items... but I needed them right away, so what can you do. Returns aren't accepted. The vibes are not great, but if you're desperate, it's good to have an option for immediate relief. You really can't buy/rent a scooter or wheelchair in person anywhere else, you have to work with a medical supplier referred by your Dr, which takes a few days and is limited to M-F.
