They have everything from ice cream to sandwiches to a steak restaurant saloon to tattoos, ghost, mine and horseback riding tours. I was most excited to see an old town photo studio. What a fun experience! Definitely worth stopping! I had lunch at miners grill (blt) before exploring! The train tour was so cool! Tour guide Bruce was great and very funny! The mystical building was unreal. Be warned if you very motion sickness I got queasy! Matt at the mine tour was also great! Loved this so much I came back to hear the ghost tour by Michael! So good! I got lucky as I was the only one on the tour so I basically got it private tour and Michael's storytelling is off the chain! Love the multimedia to accent his stories. I'm actually going back next week and can't wait to take my mom. The ghosts tour was definitely the highlight of an already wonderful day!

The young woman giving the tour was apathetic at best during the tour. She also completely skipped the elevator ride, saying it was too crowded. That removes all illusion of actually "going down in the mine". The kids with us asked "why didn't we go down in the mine!?" Then the mystery shacks tour guide seemed like he was doing us a favor by even being there. Sorry, did we disturb your day here guy? We ate in the restaurant. Food was ok, expensive, but ok. Service was good. Don't appreciate the political bumper stickers on the wall but whatever. Lastly it was two days before Christmas and nary a decoration to be found. Not a bit deal here but it would have been nice to see any holiday decorations. Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa-I'd take it.

The prices were great, but you just never know what kind of quality you'll get, even with expensive rides. We had our 6 year old with us, so we were praying that he wouldn't get bored haha! It was extremely hot outside too. We chose the 1 hour ride (just to play it safe), and we were blessed with an old cowboy named "Fast Eddie" as our driver and guide. Without exaggeration, we fell in love with Eddie in about one minute. The trail was awesome, but Eddie was better. The man was absolutely packed full of information and knowledge. We're from Northwest Pennsylvania and had a million questions. Eddie answered ALL of our questions, and incorporated them into his standard presentation. He was especially good with our 6yr. old, and kept everything extremely interesting. Eddie explained wildlife, rocks, views of the mountains, weather, etc, etc, etc..... WE COULDN'T GET ENOUGH OF HIM!!!!!!!! Eddie stopped at several predetermined locations for beautiful views and photo opportunities, but he would also stop anytime we asked him to. We could see that he was one with nature, and that he absolutely loved all the plants and wildlife around him. It was so awesome!!!!!!! I don't know much about the company, we enjoyed our tour and our tour guide more than I can really express on here. Eddie was a great representative of the state of Arizona, as well as Apache Trail Tours. The man was like a historian, college professor, kindergarten teacher, comedian, rancher, cowboy, bullrider, park ranger and old friend all at once. Truly remarkable!

The museum, itself, showcases the Apache origins of the land while the outbuildings include what remains of the Apacheland Movie Ranch (it largely suffered in a fire in 2004), a working 20-stamp gold mill, the chapel Elvis filmed "Charro!" in, the Apacheland barn, a historical model railroad, Western storefronts, a gift shop/bookstore, and a labeled nature trail. Things of note The Apacheland Barn houses a number of horse-drawn buggies and carts used in 17 television series, 29 full-length feature films, and hundreds of commercials filmed on the site. The buildings scattered around the land include a few Old West scenes and full-size dioramas, complete with plenty of mannequins depicting the scenes. The "crown jewel" is the "Elvis Chapel" - a mini-museum and wedding chapel dedicated to "the King" and his unique western movie, "Charro!" also filmed on site. It is a GREAT way to spend a couple of hours!

I don't do a good job keeping track of all the hikes I complete (unlike other friends I know who…read moredocument everything), so for the beginning of 2026, I'm going to try to do a better job of documentation. I love the Lost Dutchman and have been here several times and it never gets old and each time I come, I am still so awestruck by the beauty of this mountain. Years ago, I completed Flatiron with my then partner and didnt know that it was rated a very difficult hike. I enjoyed it, got a really nice work out and liked the scramble up to the top! I just remember it was quite windy at the top but spectacular views. Dogs are allowed on Flatiron, but don't do that to your pup, its a pretty gnarly hike, let your puppy rest honestly as I saw so many doggies struggling. Tonight, I came just for a leisurely stroll right before sunset and also hoping to catch the first almost full moon of 2026. I love nature and being outdoors and my favorite way to spend time. Park entrance was packed tonight and the fee was $10. There is a small visitor center with souvenirs, guides, some snacks, bathrooms and last minute hiking needs. I think you can also camp here, check on their website. I parked in the Cholla day use lot and did part of the Treasure Loop and hiked for about 3 miles slowly, and spent about 2+ hours in the park. My goal tonight wasn't really to hike strenously but more to get a glimpse of the sunset and the beautiful 2026 Wolf Moon. All my goals were accomplished. Park is well maintained. I used the bathroom and it was very clean and a nice park bathroom. Plenty of covered picnic tables too. Park closed at 8pm tonight (winter). There are all different level trails here and the rangers here are super nice and helpful. Ask them any questions and they are happy to help. There are also many kinds of free maps available in the visitor center. I had a MTB map, a hiking trail map, a birding map, a native plant map! I am all mapped up! If you come and do a hike, wear sturdy hiking shoes, wear sunscreen, head covering, bug spray (there were quite a lot of mosquitoes when I hiked tonight which annoyed the heck out of me as I left my bug spray at home), lots of water, some snacks, and also headlamps (I hiked back down after sunset and the headlamp helped a lot). One of the best AZ state parks, the views are amazing (so many couples here getting their photos professionally taken), definitely check it out.

The scenery was absolutely gorgeous, and the whole experience felt so peaceful. The crew was friendly, welcoming, and made the experience even more enjoyable. I loved it so much that I'm already planning to bring my mom and aunts when they visit in September. If you have binoculars, definitely bring them! You'll be able to spot the bighorn sheep along the cliffs better! After the cruise, I'd recommend grabbing lunch at the Tortilla Flat Saloon and taking a drive along the Apache Trail. Just know that part of the trail is unpaved with switchbacks and steep grades, so take your time and make sure you're comfortable driving those kinds of roads. It's a really unique experience with incredible views, and you'll eventually end up at the Roosevelt Dam. It was the perfect Arizona day and a wonderful way to experience the beauty, and history, of the desert.
