I was really excited for my class and wasn't able to access or find any parking (very severe asthma as well). I wasn't even able to reschedule for later or tomorrow. They were very rude. I was scheduled for my first class at this studio today. I arrived to the area 15 minutes early and circled the block and could find no parking. I went into alleyways looking for any parking and there was none. There were two fire trucks in front of the building and an ambulance, so parking was blocked off. I am an asthmatic recovering from Covid (I had it a few weeks ago) and need accessible parking. I called twice, texted their "help" line asking to reschedule, then called again to leave a message, during which someone picked up. It was 11:10 ish by now, I assume, like most studios, they have a five minute limit on when you can enter the class. I told them that I had to miss class because I couldn't find anywhere to park but that I'd love to reschedule. I was swiftly cut off and told no. I explained my medical situation and told them about the parking issue. I was met with the "24 hour policy" answer without even so much as a kind tone let alone a "sorry about that". I asked again as I was really confused- I've never had such a stringent interaction with any mediation studio. The same exact sentence was repeated to me and then I was told that other people made it to the class so I should have been able to make it. I was so shocked that I asked if these people also had medical issues as well, and once again I was met with the same sentence. Robotic and honestly, rude. I was really upset at this point. They were so thoughtlessly, blatantly ableist. I literally had booked the class not even an hour earlier. I wish I had gotten the name of the person who answered the phone so I could handle thus more directly, but regardless I don't think I'd even feel comfortable. Meditation is supposed to be for everyone. I was looking forward to my first meditation and sound bath since recovering. I am so disappointed. I'm on my way to the calming spot now, and also I recommend unplug in Santa Monica. I've never been made to feel bad about my health in this way by a meditation studio. I would not give them another cent until they fix their ableist policy. It seems they only respond to positive yelp reviews anyway, so yeah... I guess don't bother.

I had texted her after my session: "Just thought I should let you know (and no rush or anything) but [my dog] has been shaking all day today in his back legs and lower back region He's had back problems before and the vet said they can only really act on emergencies just so worried for my baby." She responded, saying she will do his session in a bit. I didn't have to do anything. Just a couple minutes had gone by and his energy clearly shifted. It was unbelievable. I mean, he was immobile all day and just sad. Then all of a sudden, he's eating, walking around faster than he had been in a couple days, excited to go out. I am beyond amazed and so grateful to have had this experience and for my dog as well. I hope everyone and their pets who are going through anything find Soraya and experience her healing work.
