Don't let title fool you. My experience is they don't want to manage pain. Instead the PA I had was…read moreargumentative and her goal was to cut me off all meds and of course the opioids. My last place closed the doors because of the constant DEA dogging them and every other place i'm sure. At lags it's in the paper work you sign that the DEA is demanding that people reduce opioid use. Of course they're not interested nor is the PA in treating my pain. I've been on pain meds for 7 years and have reduced my opioid use from 50 mg spread over a day to 10mg over a day the the PA could care less. No one talks about the nausea from taking this stuff before you get pain relief. It is not pleasant but it works and after trying numerous therapies such as physical rehab etc. My cocktail of meds works and works well. Yet over these last 7 years i've been bounced around to different pain doctors that some wanted to give me morphine or methadone which i don't want. I couldn't tolerate the Percosett so i didn't want anything stronger to taking me off everything and just dealing with it. Yea right. Before going to any pain management i'd pile on the anti inflamatory's which had moderate success but as one gets older more strength meds are needed. She the PA at lags had this prejudged dogma that even though I have a history and didn't just show up one day demanding opioids, that's what I was there for. I explained I don't take them constantly as they lose effectiveness and when the pain becomes unbearable that's when they work. Didn't matter she's not prescribing any. So her and many others in the medical field in the Sacramento region thinks it's just fine to cut someone off cold of necessary meds and always start from scratch while in the meantime one suffers unmedicated. What protocol is that? What treatment plan is that? It's cruel and seemed more of a personal ploy to reign power over the weak and hated males. One should ween off this stuff as i did on my own over some time from 50mg to an average of 10mg a day as withdrawals are terrible. She doesn't care when i asked her that shes going to cut me off cold. She could care less. What's important to her is that she's in control and it's all about her. I've never been booted from a pain practice for "drug seeking behaviour" as seems to be common with others. I just follow the program. I've been bounced around because either a place closes the doors or they all of a sudden don't take my insurance anymore and i'm sure the DEA is in there somewhere bothering these people. To hell with the patient. It's one thing if it was an initial diagnosis which i've had multiple times. I'm not doing it again for the 4th time. She also claims she didn't get any files from my previous doctor so I have to get x-rays, MRI's dexa scans and cat scans. I've had all those and they really didn't show much and they're in my file. My pain as my previous doctor (he was the BEST) told me is from endorphins not doing their thing and the osteopenia and disc degeneration in my spine. The PA I saw had this belligerent attitude and i'm sure some man hating in there as well. It's sad that previously doctors across the country gave opioids out like candy and irresponsible parents let kids get a hold of them and lots of people in general became addicts and many died. I'm not an addict and I've never been an addict of anything yet me and others with real pain have to suffer because of those others who screwed it up. I'm finally in a stride everyday and found the right combonation and dosage that i feel pretty good more days than not which is an accomplishment and now it's ruined AGAIN!. So after 4 appointment reschedules with this place I finally saw this PA on the day my refills were due, but no refills until I jump through hoops etc..... and even then she said she wasn't going to prescribe the combo i'm presently taking. She says has no files yet the front desk girl wouldn't make the appointment until they received the files so someone is lying. So i informed this PA that I will not play her prejudicial and prejudgment game of me. Now I understand the people that buy this stuff on the streets which is so much easier and/or blow their brains out just to be done with the whole god damn thing.

A Life-Changing Experience at Select Therapy in Elk Grove…read more As a mother, watching your child struggle with pain is one of the hardest things to endure. My 13-year-old daughter, a competitive soccer player, was dealing with persistent hip, knee, and back pain that was beginning to affect not just her performance, but her spirit. That's when we found Select Physical Therapy in Elk Grove--and everything changed. From the moment we walked in, Jasmine and Ally made my daughter feel seen, heard, and supported. Their expertise in pediatric therapy was evident, but what truly set them apart was the genuine connection they built with her. They didn't just treat her pain--they empowered her. Through thoughtful, targeted therapy, they helped her regain strength, improve mobility, and most importantly, eliminate the pain that had been holding her back. But what I'm most grateful for is how much my daughter looked forward to each session. She felt safe, understood, and uplifted. Jasmine and Ally created an environment where she could thrive--not just physically, but emotionally. When she "graduated" from therapy, she was actually disappointed to leave because of the bond she had formed with them. Today, she's back on the field, pain-free and stronger than ever. As her mom, I can't express how much that means. Thank you, Select Physical Therapy, for your incredible care, your compassion, and your commitment to helping kids heal--not just in body, but in heart.
