Most recently i've been a tad disappointed with Purolator. A friend and I ordered some stuff from…read morethe US, sort of expecting the usual difficulty with cutoms, and being asked to pay US tax and Canadian tax. As a result I started keeping close tabs on our parcel early on. Our stuff had initially been shipped March 20th and I was delighted when I saw that it had 'arrived' in Halifax April 1st. Two days later still no package and the website now stated that my address was difficult to locate and would be taking extra time. I live on the corner of two pretty main intersections so I was at a bit of a loss as to what the confusion might be? When I called the 1-800 purolator number I was even more surprised to find out that purolator keeps regular business hours (more or less) ie- not open weekends to field queries, etc. Overall, we did get our stuff in the end but I expected a bit more from such a shipping big name.

According to Purolator their gps says that the parcel was delivered and yet the photo provided…read moreisn't my home. I provided photos of my home, clearly showing it isn't where it was delivered, but they say their GPS is accurate so they close the case. Not only that, I have a camera out front, and I showed them the time frame they said it was delivered showing no one came up the driveway. Their drivers have done this repeatedly. Absolute liers. Their GPS is just a general area, there are over a dozen homes in the area. They are criminal.

Lost money at this location- paid for signature - did not get it and UPS even lied and said my…read moresister signed for a parcel- they left it on the front porch- no one was home and yet the owner of this UPS insists she signed. When you try to get your money back he insists he is only a "franchisee" and there is nothing he can do to get the money back from UPS. Then the owner has the audacity to say, "I believe you will find other couriers do the same thing." Who says that?????? What a joke- who sells a product/service that they cannot assure consumers that they will get what they paid for. NEVER EVER using this place or UPS again.

Unfortunately 2 items I ordered through Avion rewards were shipped via this carrier. I waited weeks…read morefor the packages to arrive. Initially the tracking number took me to an error page. Finally the tracking indicated the items had been at this UPS location for 3 days. When I arrived, I was told that in fact, they had been returned to sender a week prior, after sitting there for 2 weeks. When I explained I couldn't have known they were waiting for pick-up because the tracking number didn't work, the clerk shrugged and nodded as if this was routine operating procedure. When I explained I had received zero delivery notifications, the clerk looked skeptical but another employee overheard and said "Yeah, that happens". In other words, the employees of this decrepit company seem to understand fully how useless their services are, but still manage to be rude and unsympathetic. This was an avoidable mistake made entirely by UPS, and I received neither apology nor explanation. I will now have to somehow arrange to have the items shipped again at my own cost, but when I had the nerve to suggest this was poor on the part of UPS, I was chased out the door by snarky and dismissive "thanks! goodbye!" from all the employees present. Online vendors, please, please just use Canada Post. I use them for my own small business and have never had a problem.

If 0 stars was an option, I would select it. Twice Purolator…read morehas supposedly attempted delivery for packages. Both times they left a note on the door saying that nobody was home. Both times I was home because I work from home. There wasn't a knock on the door or a ring on the doorbell. Both times I had to drive for 30 minutes to get my package. This is unacceptable.

A package from Bedford to Dartmouth NS is currently on day 17 of not being available for pickup…read moredespite being in the warehouse the entirety of that time. That is 12 km from shipper to receiver, for context. I was told by a chat agent online it would be available within 48 after I requested I hold it for pickup on the agent's recommendation as I am 'guaranteed' to have it in those 48 hours. That was 209 hours ago and counting. When I went in after the first 48 hours I was told to come back the next day. I came back two days later and was told to come back two days after that. Here we are, three days after that. No update. On contacting Purolator's customer service again I was told to just wait until there was a change on the tracking information before the chat was abruptly closed due to 'inactivity' on my part when responding (I was typing for about 30 seconds). I do not feel a request to escalate the issue to the depot is unreasonable given the circumstances and I believe that I was not treated appropriately during this chat session in particular. It was once out for delivery 14 days ago, prior to my hold request. It was cancelled due to 'weather conditions'. This was after the package arrived at the warehouse the day prior and on a otherwise sunny day. I've been told, repeatedly, that this is a busy time of year and that is the cause of this delay. This is dishonest. No other delivery company I have received anything from over the last month has had any issue whatsoever. Items shipped from out of province to me weeks after this package was sent have arrived on time and in one case 2 days late with transparency as to why / when I can expect it after the first date fell through. This is only a reasonable excuse as to why a package is a few days late; maybe a week at most, not the two weeks it has been stalled on the final (and in my case only) depot. This is not an unforeseen busy period, it is a holiday that happens at the same time every year and an inability or unwillingness to account for that increased traffic is a failure of the business that is passed down to the customers inconvenienced by that lack of responsibility. This delay is due both to incompetence and an indifference to take steps to resolve that incompetence. I will not be using this company for any deliveries in the future.

This city is FULL of different print shops. Some big, some small, some only do jobs that cost…read morethousands, some only do quick, cheap runs. Basically, having to choose a printer when already on a tight timeline meant turning to the internet for some recommendations which then led me to Halcraft on Robie. In the short few days that they worked on my project, there was just so much right going on. I could immediately tell they were happy to work to complement my style instead of forcing me into theirs. When I called, they called back. When I switched to email, they switched to email. When I threw a whole bunch of details their way in no particular order, they took what they needed out of it instead of insisting I fill out a form or speak their language. It made getting through the initial details a breeze and easily days faster than any other shop I've worked with. Plus, they weren't afraid to help me make choices when I really didn't know what I was talking about. Other shops have insisted I come in to leaf through their stock and make a choice - Halcraft asked what I was using each piece for and made recommendations for each based on my budget, saving me money wherever possible (i.e. 'you know you can save $80 by doing the cuts yourself, right?'). Proofs came a day or two later than I expected but then my entire job was finished the next day rather than a portion and the rest following the next week which is what I was told would happen. It was a nice touch to have that happy surprise to finish off the week!

I had an outstanding experience with Brian, Diane and the staff of Halcraft Printers. I don't live…read morelocally, so I needed choose a printer sight unseen, email them my print file and then have the printing ready within three days. Halcraft not only gave me the most reasonable quote but also assured me that they could accommodate my quick turn around time. On Monday, I emailed them my file. On Tuesday, they sent me a proof for approval. And on Wednesday about noon, I received word that my job was ready. My print job looked beautiful, and the whole experience working with Halcraft was a pleasure. I give them my highest recommendation.
