Lost money at this location- paid for signature - did not get it and UPS even lied and said my sister signed for a parcel- they left it on the front porch- no one was home and yet the owner of this UPS insists she signed. When you try to get your money back he insists he is only a "franchisee" and there is nothing he can do to get the money back from UPS. Then the owner has the audacity to say, "I believe you will find other couriers do the same thing." Who says that?????? What a joke- who sells a product/service that they cannot assure consumers that they will get what they paid for. NEVER EVER using this place or UPS again. read more

Unfortunately 2 items I ordered through Avion rewards were shipped via this carrier. I waited weeks for the packages to arrive. Initially the tracking number took me to an error page. Finally the tracking indicated the items had been at this UPS location for 3 days. When I arrived, I was told that in fact, they had been returned to sender a week prior, after sitting there for 2 weeks. When I explained I couldn't have known they were waiting for pick-up because the tracking number didn't work, the clerk shrugged and nodded as if this was routine operating procedure. When I explained I had received zero delivery notifications, the clerk looked skeptical but another employee overheard and said "Yeah, that happens". In other words, the employees of this decrepit company seem to understand fully how useless their services are, but still manage to be rude and unsympathetic. This was an avoidable mistake made entirely by UPS, and I received neither apology nor explanation. I will now have to somehow arrange to have the items shipped again at my own cost, but when I had the nerve to suggest this was poor on the part of UPS, I was chased out the door by snarky and dismissive "thanks! goodbye!" from all the employees present. Online vendors, please, please just use Canada Post. I use them for my own small business and have never had a problem. read more

My major gripe with the UPS store (beyond the fact that they have lost my packages in the past) is the extra fee they charge to be helpful. UPS has a depot in Burnside, a real trek for the vehicle-less people in the West end of Halifax. This is where all their packages go when you can't be home to pick them up. Since they deliver during regular business hours you're usually stuck trying to find a ride to Burnside or taking a day off work to wait for them. This is very frustrating. I imagine there is an easier way to do this and guess what, there is! You can have your package dropped off at a UPS store.....for a fee. Ridiculous. The UPS Store makes it very difficult to get your package unless you pay them extra money, they make it equally as difficult to send your package. My favorite extra fee is the "Taping your box" fee, which is the extra money you pay to have UPS assemble the box you are forced to send your package in. That's right, they'll be helpful for money. Sorry UPS Store, I can't get behind that. I'm not a fan of the UPS Store, I think the only thing I dislike more is the actual UPS shipping service, but that's another review for another day. read more

I dread every time I have to enter this UPS location. It has some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Despite receiving an email that my package was ready for pick up after a certain time, the man at the front would rudely tell me he is "too busy to deal with me" and outright refused to even check if my package was there. I was the only one in the store at this time. I pointed out that it was technically his job to look for my package, and he claimed there were "too many, it would take him too long" and that I had to come back another day. The package was a very urgent item, so I was incredibly annoyed/troubled. Multiple times after this incident I have had to go back again, and unfortunately it is always still him working. read more

Horrible organization and customer service at this location. Front desk worker was not courteous. She couldn't find my parcel (large box) even though it was in the system and one of their other employees signed for it. Similar situation happened to another client while I was there. She sent him to another location 30 mins away. After he left she found his parcel in their system on location but again couldn't locate his inventory. The employee who signed for my parcel was in the other room but would not help locate my parcel. She recommended I leave without my parcel and she gave me no indication of when I would receive it/be able to pick it up. Finally after refusing to leave and waiting 30 mins, she was able to locate my parcel and I was on my way. read more

I was in on Sat, Jan 20 and I think the rudest women in the world works there. She will make you feel stupid and incompetent if you need help with parcel return details and other things, although that is her job. The way she spoke to other customers while I was there, I felt bad for them, UNTIL she spoke to me the same way. If you ask if you are all done signing stuff and paying and she says yes and you leave she will call you back and ask if you are going to pay for (something she didnt include in the transaction you already paid for). I hope I never have to go in there again, unless the older gentleman is working. I'm going to try to never ship UPS again. read more

I brought a very fragile 200 year old oil painting into the UPS shop hoping to send it to family in the USA. I was helped by Mr Emas Elfawly, the owner, a kind, and generous man who helped us and offered excellent advice. I cannot exaggerate this man's professionalism and kindness. The painting arrived safely and in excellent shape thanks to him. I have experienced other UPS outlets where there was little concern for the customer, but this Queen Street store is outstanding and we are lEucky to have a fine person like Mr. Elgawly available to the community. If you need to send a fax I suggest you find another option. Sending 11 pages and making one B&W copy cost me over $13. Granted, I don't fax things often so I may be out of touch with the standard pricing schemes, but paying 13 bucks to basically make a minute long phone call seems insane. Wish I had a positive thing to say to counter the price gouging, but the staff were super weird while we were in the store, too. There were four people sitting around, one of whom awkwardly helped me with the fax, the others appearing incredibly bored. Not a comfortable place to be. read more

An odd place to review, but it deserves it none the less. This UPS store is right around the corner from my apartment, and while I don't need to go there often when I do the staff are always so lovely. Shipping packages can be confusing and they are patient and don't mind telling you what the lay of the land is. read more

I'm going to rant about UPS in general: A one star rating because I'm still smarting from their $100 brokerage fee on $250 worth of stuff from the U.S. On top of that there are, as Adam pointed out, delivery times that correspond perfectly with my work day. What, no evening delivery shift for packages clearly going to residential addresses? How hard would this be to organize? "We (heart) logistics." My ass. UPS, you were once efficient and reliable; now you feel bloated and over-priced. I will now burn half a day and $10 in gas to drive a friend's car to the middle of an industrial park wasteland to pay afore mentioned brokerage fee while having my fingers crossed that nothing was damaged in transit. read more

This UPS store has been wonderful for my needs. There is parking right beside it or diagonally across the street too (in a Sobeys parking lot). When I want coloured photo-prints or typed pages to be copied, I ask for a young lady called Bobbi and she works hard to complete my order as specified. There is a kind and pleasant gentleman there, as well, and he helped me send out a special package with no problems. I have come back to this location many times and the service has always been very good. read more

Recently, I relocated from Halifax to NYC and used this store to ship my personal effects to NYC. The price was reasonable (300 CAD for 7 heavy boxes, standard shipping) and it took only 4 business days. A lady who helped me in this store knew well about the regulations on shipping personal effects crossing the US border and instructed me to prepare relevant documents for it. Without her help, I could not have moved in NYC so nicely. I greatly appreciate her help. Earlier this shipping, I tried to send my boxes with Fedex ground. Even though Halifax fedex kinkos shipped my articles, Dartmouth center rejected shipping. I had to go pickup my boxes all the way to Dartmouth. The reason they gave me was that they do not ship personal items. It was very frustrating that any single person in Fedex did not tell me about the regulations on shipping personal effects from Canada to US. Anyway, I confidently recommend this UPS service and store for exporting your personal items from Canada to US. read more

This location is clean, bright, and very organized and can stand as a model for a shipping store. The owner is fully engaged with each person, strives to satisfy, and delivers more than boxes in a strong customer experience. And he gets the job done. read more

This isn't the first time I've had a difficult experience at The UPS Store on Queen Street in Halifax. I go in there from time to time to print things off from the computer they have for customer use (pictures, my resume, documents etc) and getting assistance is like pulling teeth. I knew that when I went in today so I allowed for a lot of time, but the manager there (who was the one that knew how to do what I was trying to do) was not only very unhelpful, the little assistance she offered me was given grudgingly. Once the other two people that were working and I finally got everything figured out, the manager was using the printer (that she told us to use) from the office and so my stuff wasn't able to go through. I ended up leaving without getting my prints and the other employees apologized that they couldn't have been more help. We all have a learning curve with technology and this could have been an excellent training experience for the newer staff. I'm in the service industry and am patient while people learn and would have been happy to give them the opportunity to try. I'm giving it two stars because the staff that were trying to help were very sweet. read more
