It's few and far between when I feel compelled to give a one-star review. It's warranted; that's…read moreall I have to say about that. Everything I've written you should take with a grain of salt, or a whole damn shaker because it's much worse than I've even hinted at! I visited with A friend who was detained by ICE for an hour today with his mom and sister. He's trying to stay positive, but you can tell he is sad and worried. He's down to 116 pounds. The food is horrible. There is a commissary he can purchase snacks and essentials once a week from. They feed them at 4 am, 1:30 pm, and 4:30 pm. I don't know about you, but I would never be up at 4 am to eat. He said they give him only a couple minutes to eat. Each meal always has rice and beans. For lunch it is often a bean burrito with a side of rice and beans or a rice burrito with rice and beans! Dinner is worse, but they get ice cream twice a week and canned fruit some days. I think they feed them at 4 am to save money and to increase profits since detainees need to purchase over-priced food from the commissary. He was put in solitary recently because he told Sergeant Sanchez to act like a sergeant and stop cursing at everyone and calling my friend a weirdo because he is gay. The sergeant pulled out his pepper spray and wanted osny to fight him. The sergeant has about 80-100 pounds heavier than my friend. So sad! He's making friends and helping anyone that wants. His nickname is "the attorney." He's already gotten several people released and is helping them file more motions. There are about 75 guys in the "dorms" together. They have two televisions, two microwaves, and one communal shower that accommodates about 9 guys. He gets to go outside for 1 1/2 hours each day. The staff has been hit and miss. I loved the young lady at the counter with all of the tattoos and the other young lady who faked a British accent. At least they were personable. It doesn't make up for how they treat the detainees though; totally unacceptable! I hope someone exposes them for who they are: money-hungry, human rights violators! I visited the DMV today to obtain a REAL ID for my daughter. After waiting for approximately an…read morehour, I needed to use the restroom. Upon entering, I noticed there were no toilet seat covers available. I improvised by placing toilet paper on the seat before using the restroom. Afterward, I went to wash my hands and was surprised to find that there was no soap and no paper towels available. Concerned about the sanitation issue, I went to Window 4 at approximately 1:10 PM and politely asked who I should contact regarding the missing soap and paper towels. The employee appeared annoyed and responded that there was nothing they could do because an outside vendor was responsible for replacing those supplies. I explained that I needed to wash my hands and asked what public health officials would think about a restroom without soap or paper towels. The employee then stated, in an aggressive tone, that I was welcome to contact them. I was caught off guard and disappointed by both the lack of restroom supplies and the response I received. I then requested to speak with a manager. When I explained the situation to the employee at the front entrance, she appeared to laugh and gave the impression that this was a recurring issue that was rarely addressed. After speaking with the manager, she promptly visited the restroom and provided a portable hand soap dispenser and paper towels. My primary concern is the number of people who may have used the restroom and been unable to properly wash their hands due to the lack of soap and paper towels. This creates a significant public health concern and increases the risk of cross-contamination. It is unfortunate that such a basic sanitation issue existed in a public facility serving so many people.

I think it's common knowledge at this point that no one wants to be at the DMV. The idea that I…read morehave to go once every 10 years (give or take) plagues me. I knew what to expect, but didn't think it would be quite so bad. The parking lot was packed! Why is it so small?? I had to park across the street in a dirt field and cross two roads where the cars had little visibility. I love that you can check in on your phone! Thank goodness for that, I was able to walk right in and find a spot to sit... wait no, let me rephrase that. I was able to walk right in and stand in line hoping for a spot to sit. Yes, there was a small line of people waiting for a seat. The timing wasn't bad but I did have an appointment. The employees look so miserable! They can't hear you through the partition so you have to repeat yourself 5 times, they're not clear or direct and are not happy when they have to explain something to you. The stand apart Covid signs are still posted but I was practically shoulder to shoulder the whole time I was there. I don't think the DMV will ever change, but it would be nice if they did. Miserable employees make everyone around them miserable as well.

There were two security guards on my visit to this office... a tall, bald white guy, and this younger Hispanic male. The white guy stood by the front door, and greeted people as they entered the building. The Hispanic security guard sat at a desk underneath one of the monitors. He was very unfriendly, which was quite a contrast to all the other workers I encountered here, who were all very cool. This young man should learn how not to be rude, and how to treat customers. He seems to have an attitude problem. Anyhow, I visited here 3 times in the past 2 weeks. All three times when I was helped at a window by an employee, they were all nice, and treated me with respect. One thing that I wish they would improve upon is, the loud speaker that calls out the numbers. I can't make out what number they are calling, because the sound is not clear. It seems too loud, and so the sound is heavily distorted. I bet you might be able to make out what number they are calling better, if you were outside somewhere. Or, if they simply turned down the volume. So yea, the loud speaker is so loud inside, I just can't make out the number. I discovered the numbers being called do not always appear on the monitor screen, so you can't rely on that, either. When I thought I made out a few numbers on my ticket, I approached the window cautiously and after providing my number, asked if he had actually called it. He replied, "yes". I was assisted by a very competent Asian guy. On my previous visit, I was assisted by an old white man, who was also helpful and pleasant. Like I said, I would give 5+ stars if it weren't for that rude Hispanic security guard. If he is going to sit on his a** and do nothing, he could atleast be kind to people. Geez. Just for the record, I hate to have to describe people by their possible race, but I do not know the names of any of these people. This review is for the SSA office in Victorville ONLY. I am not including anyone who I spoke to on the 800 national number. I called that number in March, and spoke to a woman who gave me 100% false, incorrect information, which led to me waiting months and months, wondering why I wasn't hearing from anyone. The instant that I made an appointment at my local SSA office in Victorville, I started to get my case processed right away. Thank you.
