FA landscaping provided paving and landscaping to me at an affordable price. The quality of the pavers were sturdy with multiple designs to choose from. This job lasted about 2 weeks and Chris was there almost everyday. He is very easy to reach and responds to text immediately. UPDATE 5/4: After posting my original review, Chris reached out immediately to fix up the remaining work. Updated my review to 4 stars predicated on this. I had a patio installed by Chris' team of contingent workers in October 2022. The patio itself is lovely. However, they left the rest of my home in such a complete state of disarray that I've since had to hire alternate businesses to clean up their mess since Chris stopped responding to my messages in November 2022. Their machinery left enormous track marks that were never reseeded in the front of my yard. This machinery also disrupted an existing stretch of patio, which was left completely uneven and partially buried into the ground from the weight of the machine; Chris promised would be fixed that day (October), but again, stopped responding to my messages after over a month of asking. The contract included reseeding any area around the patio where grass was removed, presumably including the additional tire tracks in my backyard, and Chris refused to deploy anyone citing all members of his team as having COVID; he also mentioned that my dogs would prevent the grass from growing since they would dig and urinate in those areas, adding to his hesitation in fixing the gaps in the yard that his machines left. Clearly, other customers have been serviced since, so he has no intention of making good on the contract. His workers left trash from their lunch all over the backyard, which I immediately brought up to him as well. Hired Federico Alvarez Landscaping, who sub-contracted to Brandon Castillo (AKA - Castillo Landscaping or Outdoor Digs, Newark DE). We though Brandon was his project supervisor. Never showed up first day of job, even though it was confirmed evening before. When we called to find out where they were, was informed everyone exposed to COVID-19. We had to call them, they never called us to explain they would not be here to start the job, seems odd this was not know the night before. Job started 6 days late. Job was supposed to take 3 days, but took 6 days. Brandon has no clue what constitutes a full day of work. I don't care the job took 6 days, but don't complain that your guys get paid salary & it was a 6 day job when the only reason it took 6 days was due to ineffective communication, poor organization, & late starts with early departures. Brandon did not honor the contract. They entire time he was trying to find out what we were paying Christian Alvarez, this is how I found out my job was just subbed to another company. Brandon constantly said he does not work for free. He says he never saw the contract, but he was brought by & shown the scope of the job, provided video of the worst case scenario (hurricane Sandy footage) with our yard & driveway flooding. They did not put in the size catch basin indicated in contract. He put one pipe in and was supposed to put in two. Did not wrap the pipe in fabric & 57 clean stone as indicated in contract. He did not sink the basin in the ground enough but explained it was fine since the water drained in the side hole from the French drain trench. We were hit with a storm before the project finished & they had to add another basin since the one they put in was not big enough, was supposed to be 2 more, but only added one more catch basin. Connected the second basin to the first basin, using the hole that the water from the French drain was supposed to flow through. Since the catch basin is not flush with the surface & he used the inflow to connect to the other basin, the water does not drain in that basin now. Also used a catch basin as the outlet for water, which water sits & gets stagnant & breeds insects. Originally used a pop up at the outlet which popped off with the first storm. Skimmed my yard the night before hurricane Isaias, exposing the opening below my deck along the length of the deck and leaving soil loose, this caused my basement to flood. We were trying to resolve water flooding my driveway, but my home has never flooded. He did not want to acknowledge that their negligence caused water to pour into my basement under the deck. If this was not bad enough, he broke the sidewalk driving on it with the tractor and left us with deep tractor treads across our the grass at sidewalk, up my front lawn, up the length of my side yard & through the yard. They seeded over fill dirt on the torn up lawn &t said the tractor treads were for drainage. My yard looks like someone drove donuts in the mud. They never put in the screened top soil. We offered to accept Christian's offer to finish grading, fix the side walk and take 2000 off the remaining balance, but Christian's crew needed to do the job, Brandon was not welcome back. Christian said he only offered 1700 off & complained that he has to pay Brandon, a he was not making anything on the job. Which we accepted as long as his crew does the work, we did not want Brandon back. Not my problem, I did not hire Brandon. 9/15: Update: The evening after my review was posted, Christian launch an attack from his personal FB page, taking a screen shot of my FB page, adding a pic of Trump flag, from my pictures, next to it & accused me of racism and racial slurs. Shared with internet news platform & other public groups. Members of his FB community have made threats, harassed me, mocked my grandchildren (2 yrs & 9 mos), & inquired where I live. All lies perpetuated by a poor review. This is how this "man??" chose to handle a poor review. read more

Hired to remove bamboo - they did nothing right. Bamboo is still in the yard. Instructed them to not touch neighbors property and they put the barrier 6 feet in my neighbors yard. No grass seed except what i bought and spreaded, sink holes everywhere - that's how I know where the barrier is located. Told every time I call them - next week and nobody shows and nobody calls. Next step is legal. I tried working with them but they show no willingness to fix what they did wrong read more

June 15-26, 2020) I spoke to a gentleman name Christian (?) Alvarez for a large bush removal. A date was given for the work to be done. I talked to him on a Tuesday and we scheduled him for that Friday. But he was a no show. No call. Nothing. We called him that next Monday. After what I though was a sincere apology, we rescheduled for the upcoming Thursday (3 days). Guess what? He was another no-show and no calls or anything. You may have better luck with him. Maybe my job was too small or he under priced it. I don't know. But as a professional landscaper, he had the time to call or even cancel. Something he didn't do the first time, either. We have lived in Saint Georges Crossing for a year and love Federico Alvarez Landscaping. They mow our lawns every week, place down sod in baron areas and replaced our dead bushes. I am not a outdoors person and work in the medical field. I can definitely state that they have been on time with any requests that me our my wife have given them. I do not understand the negative reviews or do I agree with them. I can only state my point of view from the look of my lawn (front and back), my trees and bushes. He was referred by the past owners of the house and we are glad they did. If we move from this area, he is coming with us. read more
