Stay away from this "authorized" Fedex location! You guarantee dealing with unprofessional people who speak down to you and taint the FedEx brand.
In January 2021, my uncle tried to send down a few of my dead grandparents items; 2 painting and 3 hats. It totaled about $421. Being that I live out of state, I sent my uncle my card information. However, I received a sketchy text message to input my car information. Since I wanted my grandparents' items, I didn't care about the sketchy payment method. However, the payment would not go through after two attempts. Considering the sentimental value of these items, my husband and I went to our local bank to correct this issue. "Jonathon," who claimed to be the manager and who definitely is not named "Jonathon," kept claiming that I was doing something wrong. During the time at Chase, the bank associate reviewed our accounts, cards and even called into the corporate office to confirm that there is nothing wrong with Chase Bank or our accounts. We tried a third attempt on my husband's phone with a different card. Interestingly, the cost jumped up to about $450. My uncle said that nothing was added to the bundle to have changed the price, but "Jonathon" insisted that it was some fee that he claimed he forgot to add during the previous two attempts. Sure, ok. The third and final failed attempt happened, while we were still in Chase with the bank associate. This associate reviewed the payment method and said that this is similar to scammers. (When I called to file a complaint, Fedex confirmed that this is not their usual form of payment.) After this 45 minute ordeal, we decided to take our business elsewhere. But "Jonathon" said he's going to charge us $100 for boxing our items. We explained that we are trying to give you $450, but your payment method is faulty. How can we pay $100, when you are unable to accept almost $500? Clearly, the money was not the issue for us. "Jonathon" threatened to keep my dead grandparents' items. Being that we had literally just buried my grandmother the day before this incident, this threat was not received well. Not realizing that we went to our financial institute and were sitting with the bank associated, "Jonathon" kept boldly insisting that it was something we were doing wrong. My uncle was tired of being insulted and paid the $100 out of his pocket because there was no way that "Jonathon" was going to keep his parents', my grandparents, items.
My family and I were highly disappointed because we made a conscious effort to support a fellow New Yorker and small business owner during a pandemic, only to experience a less than acceptable interaction. From reading the other reviews, this location charges customers unnecessarily and thinks little of the Fedex brand to continue damaging the image of Fedex.
It is not surprising that ALL the reviews are 1-2 star. I would have left a 0, if possible. read more
