If you (like I) need to print and fax documents (yes some people still want you to fax them - mostly doctors), this place is pretty straightforward and if you encounter any technical difficulties, the staff are promptly helpful. Not the usual "is there anyone around to answer my question" as at so many office supply places. Note: I ended up here after trying in vain to print some documents at the Charles McGee Library across the street. What a runaround! Try the 2nd floor, no, it's on the 3rd. Sorry, this printer's broken. Wait, that printer's available... but, sorry, there aren't any computers available from which to print, etc. etc. Save yourself trouble, even if it costs a few bucks, and just go to FedEx. read more

I work fairly close to this location and we come in regular to print menus among other things. I usually have a great service even if it's busy. However, today an employee by the name of Habib took care of me and was very rude doing so. While waiting for an email that I'm sure doesn't take that long to receive he proceeded to go and pack boxes he said he needed to do by 6pm after another employee came to ask me if I was being helped. I annoyingly said I didn't know considering Habib didn't communicate he'd be back or that he was going to do other things while I waited for a couple minutes.... Once he noticed Lili came to help me rushed to where I was waiting and explained to her what he was doing while I just stood there, he then rudely flipped the computer to imply my email hadn't arrived, although as I looked it had. I didn't say anything to him or told him he was wrong even though I noticed my emailed had arrived minutes after I sent it. I sent the email at 5:40pm and they received it at 5:41pm and the rudeness happened at 5:48pm. I find it difficult to believe how rude he was considering he is constantly working with people and part of customers service is being polite and not leaving the customer to do other things. Overall my visit today was horrible and hopefully other people don't get treated that way in the future because it honestly does ruin your day. read more

Yesterday I stopped by Fedex, got there at about 7:15 pm. When it was finally my turn around 7:30 ish, Heaven who assisted me told me they just closed their overnight shipping at 7 pm and that my other option was to have my item delivered Friday. Because the document is somewhat urgent, I entertained the idea until she told me it would cost me $90 for it to be delivered a day late. The guy Jairo said it's fedex policy that I'm required to buy a fedex box for $13. I asked why and was told because the conveyer belt with ruin my box but magically their box's are indestructible. I'm writing this review after I stopped by a local UPS store that was more conveniently located than this and realized I couldn't get anything done nearly as efficiently or to the level of quality that I have come to expect from FedEx Parking isn't great, there's a parking deck relatively close by, but it takes a short walk. And sometimes there is a little bit of a wait because this store is so utilized by the community. But they are always well-staffed and the staff is always top-notch, Friendly and knowledgeable. They always get the job done for me and have all of the tools in the store that I need to get my work related tasks done. I go to these types of places (including FedEx's, UPS and mom-n-pop shops) across the nation and this is one of the best run I've ever seen. Highly recommend. read more

Conveniently close to my home, FedEx was there to save me in a pinch when I needed to Fax something ASAP. I used them many years ago to do a huge print job for work, but now I only stop in for do-it yourself jobs. If you have a charge card, you can just head over to a vacant machine, insert your card, and do your business. I don't believe they use self loading money cards anymore, as when they were a Kinko's. I was there during off peak hours, so I was in and out. Parking is never a problem, and you can grab a Starbucks or shop at Rite Aid while you are there. read more

This place is busy. And busy places need more staff. I went in around 6 o clock I wanna say, and the place was packed. I tried to use one of the self service laptop stations but the program wasn't working and wasn't allowing me to print. I went to try and get some help but there was 2 people already being helped, several people in line, and the FedEx employees in the front were working on projects with the people who they were helping. Seeing a 20 minute wait ahead, I set up my laptop next to one of their network computers, sent an email from my laptop, and printed it off from one of theirs. I copied it (Man that paper there using is cheap). It's almost like I printed something on tissue paper. Cut it with their industrial cutter thing. That's really nice they had that there. Very convenient equipment if it works. I surprised to see so many people out of work that day, still working... but alas- I was doing the same thing. Need more staff at this location. read more

Lady Manger I needed help she came to help me from a distance and when I told her I would wait for someone else that would help me her attitude gotten worse I didn't think I would have to tell her I don't see very well. Overall, this FedEx gets the job done. The question is how long will it take? That depends whether you come during a rush of customers or not. I have noticed that there never seems to be as much staff as there could be. The wait to receive help for a package can take a while with the amount of staff available. If you do not have your package ready to go, expect to wait at least 15 minutes to receive help during busy hours. If you can, prepare your package at home or by yourself at the store, so you can just drop the package off at the counter and head out the door. Boxes, printers, scanners, and all sorts of packing supplies are provided here. So, there are definitely a good amount of tools to successfully prepare a package. Additionally, if you ask an employee for help, they definitely assist in a nice and supportive manner. read more

I felt like he listened to us and helped us make the best program possible, and was very caring throughout the process! It's unusual to be able to pinpoint one employee when summing up the general shortcomings of a place. However, this is the case with Salam (Salem?) at the Fed Ex Kinkos in Silver Spring. I frequent Fed Ex Kinkos all over the country and scan artwork for posters and print posters about 2-3 times per month. I am very familiar with their process and with their capacity to complete these projects. I am tech literate. I've had the misfortune to interact with Salam on multiple occasions. Each time I was trying to accomplish a task that I had accomplished multiple times previously at various Kinkos, and each time Salam turned me away empty handed, time wasted. Each time I have traveled to a different location miles away (highly recommend Germantown, best staff!) The first time Salam advised that they were unable to scan a document and put it on a drive. She couldn't scan a poster for us and failed to tell us about the large document scanner, which another employee told us about when we came back the next day. We figured she was new and forgot about it. That is until it became clear that this is Salam's M.O. This most recent time, Salam refused to print posters for us telling us to do it ourselves. We knew that the regular copy machine was not going to produce the quality we wanted, but figured we would print one, bring it back up to her, and explain why what we wanted was for her to scan and print the poster. She flat out refused making all kinds of ludicrous excuses about why she couldn't do what we wanted. After we informed her that we had done this many times at many Kinkos, her attitude became snarky and hostile. I can't imagine why anyone would tolerate an employee like Salam. She refuses to do her job and doesn't have the basic people skills to interact with people in a public setting, much less customer service skills. I will continue to drive out to Germantown rather than waste any more time at this location. I might reconsider if I heard that Salam didn't work there anymore, but otherwise, no way. read more

Oh my goodness, what unapologetic, rude, and unprofessional customer service I received here. I ordered a print job for only 50 business cards via email and was informed that an employee would get in touch with me about the details of the order within 1 business hour. I waited and waited for a call or email but got nothing. So, I called to see if they had received the email and they said that it was already finished and the price was $31. Wait, what about my confirmation call? Or at least a call quoting the price of my order BEFORE you complete the order? Or even a call to say my order was ready? To give some perspective, the FedEx website quotes 250 business cards for $22.49. I was charged $31 for 50 business cards. How can the cost of 50 business cards be greater than that of 250 business cards? Maybe they were printed on sheets of gold. I wouldn't know, though, because no one called to confirm what material I would like the cards printed on. The manager was extremely abrasive and impolite, cutting me off on the phone and did not once apologize for the lack of communication. She said the price was elevated because it was a rush order and there is an extra fee for cutting the cards. First, I never indicated that it was meant to be a rush order. Second, it is absurd not to include a cutting fee in the price of business cards. They're business cards, for crying out loud. It's 2015, I assume there is a printer setting that cuts the cards automatically to the standard business card size, requiring the employee to (gasp!) press a button. Perhaps I am wrong and every FedEx office employs a family of specially trained elves that sit in the back room, slaving away day and night in order to cut each business card into the exact required dimensions. Now that would warrant a "cutting fee." She suggested I cancel the order and then they can print sheets of the business cards and I can cut them MYSELF so that they are cheaper. Wow, what a completely senseless idea. They have 50 of my business cards sitting in their office, ready to go, but rather than admit fault and give me the cards for the appropriate price, she wanted to throw away perfectly good cards (a waste of money and materials), then print new sheets and make me cut them. I called the nearby Staples and they said I could upload my image online and get 100 business cards same-day for $19.99, but they currently are having a promotion for 250 cards for $7.99. YES, PLEASE, THANK YOU. Less money, more cards, minus the attitude. Having read the other reviews now, I completely agree with those that say this place is only open because there is nowhere else in the area. I could buy a new printer for the prices they charge here. If you can, GO TO STAPLES. It's about 2 miles away. If you're desperate and must go here, make sure you are very specific with the details of your order and pricing. Visited this office a couple of times in frustration, expecting my package to have arrived, only to be told it hadn't yet turned up. When asked the whereabouts of my package, I was told they didn't know (they track packages right?). Finally called Fed-Ex HQ and tracked down my package, and had my beef with them, seeing it was a delivery issue, but gave this office a low score because they had a nonchalant attitude to my concern. Here is the reason why I will never come here again for shipping: -it took at least 15min to be acknowledged for assistance, and the attendants weren't extremely overwhelmed with current projects behind the counter. -the associate who assisted me didn't seem to have a clear grasp of how to fill out the paper work for international shipping and was going extremely slow (it took half an hour to ship a two piece bikini) -when the line behind me started increasing in size, none of the staff (which by that time increase from 2 people to 5 people) asked if they could assist anyone in line. They just kept talking about their personal lives. -usually when I ship something from Kinkos I have the associate fill out the other side of the sheet (the shipping details) for me. I usually just fill out my address and where I am sending it to. She had me fill out all the information my self which she definitely could have filled out just by asking me question. I've been to over 25 FedEx Kinkos locations all over the country and this one has got to be the absolute worst. The color printer in the computer center does not work and hasn't for the last 6 months. Nobody seems to care and ALL of the employees are incredibly rude and unhelpful. They never offer any refunds even if the fault is completely theirs. No manager is ever actually working ( always on break) there. I came in after a horrible day in which everything seemed to be going wrong. I was barely fit to interact with humanity, yet Darrel helped me through a difficult task and Endafaw lent support. Both displayed patience, professionalism, and decency when they could have ignored me and my incoherent mumbling about how my phone wasn't working, I didn't have the right file type, etc. Yes, this location is understaffed, but the people who work here are solid: they care about the job and the neighborhood, and about getting it right. This location is absolutely horrible at all times. I never see more than 2 employees working, and the wait times can be ridiculous. The worst thing is they sometimes tell me they cannot ship a package the way I've prepared it. Or, they say "we can but it's at your own risk." Wtf? I've never heard this from USPS or UPS, nor have I had any other Fedex location tell me this once, and I've shipped hundreds of packages from locations in 6 different states. Went there on Wednesday to try and get my Grandmothers Funeral Programs printed. There were only 2 people working and the lines were long. A lot of people needed assistance and were understandably getting frustrated. It made sense they had a help wanted sign. After standing in a 4 people like for 15 mins we finally got to the front. We had tried printing them ourselves but since it was double sided we needed to email it to them and then they would print it. Originally i was going to give it a 3 stars because the wait was so long however once we got to the front we met with Aaron! Now although his name tag said "in training" he was very helpful, professional, empathetic and had a great understanding of what we needed. Though we know it was a lot to handle and easily frustrating he didn't sweat and handled everything exceptionally well! Getting us our programs completed early the next day and at the time we asked. I don't usually do these type of reviews but we are grateful for him and he deserves the recognition. read more
