This store just attempted to egregiously overcharge me to ship shoes I already had a shipping label for! It was bad enough that the sales associate attempted to charge me for over $25 in shipping materials (for a shoe box!), but then someone who appeared to be a store manager doubled down on the foolishness, defending the ridiculously high cost. When I informed him that the UPS store down the street has never attempted to charge such an amount, his response was, "We're a franchise." Yes, a franchise that unapologetically overcharges people. Not a bad place at all, provides a lot of useful services (shipping, shredding, printing, etc). But they need to improve their customer interaction. Walked in there and said "I'd like to print some more copies of a document you printed for me last year." The guy's response (I believe he was manager) was "We weren't even open a year ago." So I had to say "Yeah, but this was sometime in 2021, after you opened." His response SHOULD have been: "Great, thanks for your repeat business. Let's see if we can find the file in your system." After ascertaining that I had emailed them the file in 2021, and puzzling me by asking me "so you want to print some more" (which of course I had told them from the outset), he found the folder, I told him how many copies I needed, color vs black & white, single-side or double-sided, etc. Then rather than him walk just a few feet to the register to ring me up, he called out the order to a clerk at the register, who proceeded to ring it up entirely wrong -- had no idea how many copies I wanted. This whole thing was a relatively simple (very simple) order, so my experience doesn't give me great confidence in how they'd handle a more complicated print order. read more

I have been using this store since it opened. It's been my go-to, especially as an Amazon Prime customer. Everything is usually fast and efficient, and the customer service is always on point. I made an appointment online to see a notary. It was clearly confirmed online. I showed up 15 mins early and was told they'd be in for my appointment. Then I came back and was told no notary was coming in. UPS made no attempt to cancel my appointment or notify me. I wasted a morning on this. read more

This is a new UPS store and a 5 minute drive from my home business. And a short walk from the Takoma Park post office. I am an online seller and I used to drive to the 14th St Monroe location, and sometimes even to the Laurel MD to drop off my shipments when I was running late. This UPS store is clean, with friendly and helpful staff. The Ground pick up is usually after 6pm so I have enough time to drop off my shipments. So glad to have a local UPS store now. read more

I had a visitor from England who left their laptop in my apartment. They needed their computer, so I brought it this UPS location for packaging and shipping. I didn't mind paying more than the cost at the USPS because I thought their expertise was worth it. I was sadly mistaken. The first mailing was returned because the packaging label was not filled out correctly by the store's staff. The second try did go to England, but there was a surprise tax assessment of $270 because the second label did not declare the contents as used personal property, as I had explicitly requested. So my visitor had to pay an erroneous import tax. Completely incompetent. read more

Don't bring your Amazon return here! When I did, they provided me with a receipt bearing an invalid tracking #. Amazon hasn't received the return (thus has not credited me), and the tracking for that # shows only that a label was created. I went back to the store to check on this, and the staff told me that the tracking # they give for Amazon returns doesn't always comport with the actual shipment of the package! Sometimes they aggregate a bunch of Amazon returns in a big container, and ship them with a different tracking #. Which is not provided to the customer. So how do I know if/when Amazon actually receives my return? I don't. The staff at this store told me to call Amazon, give them the dummy tracking # that is on my drop-off receipt, and Amazon would credit me. Obviously, this makes no sense. Amazon needs the actual tracking number to verify their receipt of the return. I spent over 1/2 hour on the phone with Amazon yesterday (THAT was fun), only to have them confirm this. Amazon's agent told me that this store's practice of consolidating returns & shipping them with different tracking information than was provided to the customer is most definitely NOT a permitted protocol. Amazon recommended that I file a lost package claim with UPS. Which, as it turns out, I cannot do. Because the tracking # is not associated with an actual shipment. read more

It's great to have an establishment of this kind in the neighborhood, but it's really a rip off just for a basic service such as printing. They force you to rent the computer at $2 to self print and if they do it for you it's $3 plus print fees. I did not move forward instead I left and went to the DTSS FedEx to handle my business. read more
