I am used to my local FedEx shops being difficult. Like if you are missing a tiny thing or their machine isn't working, it takes a lot of work on my end to ask questions and come up with the solution with the staff. So today, I walked to this store to ship two returns. The codes wouldn't scan. I wasn't in the mood to ask a million questions to come to a solution and almost picked up my items to walk back to my apartment. Not out of anger, just out of the 'I'll deal with this later' attitude I had after a long day. Erick (employee of the day, week, month, and year) asked to see my phone and went to work. I could see my screen the whole time, and he just worked away. A few minutes later, he came with printed returns and repackaged my items since I hadn't packed specific paperwork in the boxes. He did this while smiling and being helpful, as I just wanted to give up on the day. Erick, you are the most excellent FedEx employee I've ever met, and I wish great abundance to you and your family. Seriously! You turned a challenging day into an enjoyable one, and your problem-solving skills are stellar. read more

Rude and unhelpful employees. I have sent several things to this location to be printed and there are always mistakes, either something isn't printed properly, items are missing, or they can't find the items after I received notification the order was printed. Once I requested a printed receipt to give to my employer, who wanted it for the sign we had printed, and they refused. read more

Went there for passport photos and the ones printed did not meet what was shown in the US Government website. Tried to explain it to the woman there and asked her to look at the image and the instructions (as she didn't believe me) I needed the images for an emergency issue. She wasn't interested and was the rudest person I have ever encountered and told me they had a machine. Horrible, horrible experience. Avoid this place if you can. read more

Ohhh! I just got a Yelp update someone voted for my old review from 2015 about this Fedex and I need to update! They changed all Their management and are now great! The 3 star rating is an average of the awful 1 star service I received and the 5 star help the manager gave me. An inept and rude employee tried to charge me over $800 for regular black and white copying. She did not tell me she would charge a $150 rush fee and typed in the wrong code. She would not check the bill and threw out what she had printed (all 500 sheets) and make me print them again for 36 cents a sheet rather than the $1.55 she was trying to charge me. I took the business card and emailed the manager with the details and he got back to me immediately. He said that DC makes it hard to discipline, much less fire, people regardless of how rude or incompetent they are. He appreciated the email because now he had documentation he could use. My suggestion is that you go there, and if you have problems take the card and email the manager with the names of the employees and what they did. That way they can warn employees and take appropriate action if they do not improve. read more

I think management has a sick enjoyment in making their customers feel frustrated. I should have read other reviews before stepping foot in this terrible establishment. I went in to scan three pages to my email and was told to use a computer in the back. The computer itself charges you by the minute and not per page scanned. After I fumbled around trying to figure out how to use the scanning system, I was charged a little over $5. My scans were cut off on the right side and had markings on the bottom of the pages. I went to the manager and asked him politely if he could rescan for me so my pages are readable. I told him it was for work and was very important. Another worker suggested the manager just refund me. The manager then began to argue logistics with me. He told me that I already emailed the pages to myself (which I did to show him how they scanned) and that the computer does not charge me to scan only for the time I use it. He also said that sometimes that machine works and sometimes it doesn't. He blatantly refused to refund me and spoke over me in a condescending tone, patronizing me for even the idea of being refunded. I have NEVER received such poor customer service. Doesn't he know that it's more profitable to keep a returning customer? Doesn't he watch The Office. Any business minded individual would have refunded the $5 and remedied the situation quickly. read more

I rarely ever need to stop by a FedEx Kinko's. I almost always have my laptop strapped to my side and I have a scanner and printer at home. However, I found myself here one afternoon because I had to print something out quickly on the fly! Once I found the awesome parking garage across the street, everything else became pretty straight forward. I walked into the fairly small store and head straight for the work station. There were three work stations, however only two computers set up. One was occupied, but luckily the other was free. I sat down, stuck my credit card in the machine and started to pull up what I needed to print. I can't remember exactly how much it cost per minute, but I remember thinking I better make this quick. Good thing a crazy man came in a few minutes after to keep me on target. This fifty-something, scattered, socially awkward guy comes in and immediately starts grilling everyone that had since been waiting after I had snagged the last computer. "How long have you been here? Is she before you? I'm before him. And he is after you? She can go after you're done. What about you? How long have you been waiting? How long are you going to take?" I kept my head down and shot him the quick once over so he knew I wasn't playing around. Honestly, he probably didn't even pick up on my pseudo, tough-guy attitude...but he left me alone. Either way, he made me feel uncomfortable, so I completed my task as quickly as possible. Aside from the crazy man, this location was clean and fairly quiet. However, I sense that there are times when the work stations might be highly trafficked. They really need to get that third computer set up if they want to avoid restless, idle customers. read more

It's amazing how the manager here was blatantly trying to scam me and charge me for mistakes that were so obviously his fault. He asked if I wanted color or B/W, but I'm not sure why because he did the opposite of what I asked. He asked how many copies, but again I'm not sure why because he printed 1/10 of the copies I needed and then blamed me for not telling him how many copies I needed, which I did when I answered HIS question. I asked if he could collate and staple (which is something the printer does) and he told me I didn't give him enough notice to get my packets stapled, but then charged me a "Hand Stapling Fee". He also printed only 1 sided, which I told him was fine for the 1 copy he made, but that all the others should be double sided to which he said that double sided was not listed in the body of the email, so it was going to be an up-charge for changing details. He seemed crazy stoned. He then proceeds to interrupt mine and my co-workers very private conversation to give his input on what we were talking about - ya know, from his experience. At least he's ballsy? I wouldn't even label him a scam artist. Just a joke. And he was the MANAGER of the store! read more

First time visiting this location. Had to use the computer. Was trying to send a PDF file via email. The computer wasn't responding. I notified an employee about the problem. She had an additional 15 minutes toward my card to complete my email. It didn't work. Computer still wasn't responding. So I basically spent 10.00 for now reason. And the employees who worked their didn't know anything about computers because NO 1 tried to fix the problem. Won't be going back. read more

I only have good experience with this location. I live nearby and often use print and shipping services, and while at busy time there might be a wait, usually it's pretty quick. Stuff is always friendly and trying to help, Martinique even once suggested to finish my printing job after her shift was over because I've made some mistakes while making an order via the online cabinet. read more

This really about the company in general. My son was moving on a Saturday and a large item was being shipped to him on the following Monday. Somehow, the shipping was moved up and due to arrive the Friday before his move. When he called to see what could be done, he was told to put a hold on the delivery. It was not specified that it should be a VACATION hold, not a "regular" hold. He made the move and received 2 out of the 3 boxes. The first box never arrived. When he tracked it, he was told that hold meant that he had to pick it up from the facility. BTW, the first time he called, they told him it was not there. Second call and it was. When he called and asked that the third box be shipped he was told that it was impossible to override the computer and it would be sent back to the shipper. I then called to speak to a supervisor who advised me that there was no way to send the 3rd box out for delivery. She neglected to comment on the fact that 2 of the 3 had already been delivered. I find it difficult to believe that a human being with independent thought in a company of this magnitude and value cannot override the decision of a computer!! It has now been returned to the sender and we now need to sort it out with them. The item is quite large and cannot be easily transported, even in a car. There seems to be no customer service or common sense in this enormous system. What a waste!!! Perhaps if employees received training, it would help. Maybe not. read more

Just like the stars say, this place is A-OK. Just in case anyone wondered about this location in Columbia Heights. It's usually pretty empty so you don't have to wait to use a machine. It has a wide lay out so even if it gets packed you aren't unintentionally bumping uglies with people. I'm pretty sure FedEx stores are franchises just like UPS stores so customer service at each location really varies. At this location the customer service is passable and worth 3 stars. It's not that they have an attitude (like some Harris Teeter baggers *ahem*) but often they seem to be a bit clueless. Seriously go in and try it and you'll see what I mean. And like the first reviewer says, you can get all sorts of characters in here. One man kept hawking loogies into a trash can and arguing with his wife. And one woman came in from the Med Spa next door with a peeling face. Then a teenager said I looked "really stupid" because I guess she didn't care for my fashion sense. Ahhh, Columbia Heights. This place is just a bad experience As part of my travel routine I brought some things I wanted to send home. One staff member was trying desperately to get the fax to work. Another was telephoning around trying to find a 16 foot styrofoam board in order to mount a banner and a third was taking a coffee break. It took 30 minutes for them to accept my package. A couple of weeks ago when I was mailing my tax return they made me choose between next day delivery or two day delivery, saying that only these two methods are available for tax documents. I picked the two day delivery and it still cost me over 30 dollars. My friend went to another FedEx earlier today and they made her mail her return with regular mail costing around 10 dollars. I've mailed my tax return with USPS, UPS and FedEx. The experience with FedEx is the most insane and unacceptable. read more

This place is a great one stop shop for all your office supply and printing needs. The staff have been super helpful each time I have gone in. They will print labels a sheet at a time and can do scanning and many other Kinkos services. They also have a standard mail drop. They seem to be well stocked with everything you could need in a printing supply and service is done with patience and a smile! I will return for the wonderful customer service I experienced. Even when I had to wait a bit, the staff reached out to let me know I'd be helped shortly. I appreciate that. read more

Don't bother coming here to quickly print something! Rude service and over 35 minutes waiting on an employee to print two pages I needed. Their self service kiosks don't allow you to print, only copy. What? Makes no sense. I watched for thirty minutes as the rude employee helped everyone but me in the store. He was the only one working, but he repeatedly ignored me even though he knew I only needed two pages printed. I sent the documents to the email address listed on the screen of the self print kiosk. Instead of asking me to check my email address for the retrieval code the email sends you, the employee told me that I had sent the code to the wrong email address and didn't give me the correct address. I asked him to provide the right email address since the one on the self serve machine was incorrect. He rudely pointed to the business cards on the desk. He proceeded to ignore me for the next 30 minutes as he printed other things for other customers, assisted them with layouts, etc. After about 25 minutes, I asked him if my printing had gone through and was ready. He responded with "I haven't checked" and continues on with other customers. After being in the store for roughly 40 minutes, he handed me the two copies and walked away. When I asked if I could pay now for them, he responded with a rude intonation and "have a blessed day". I didn't think it was possible to make a blessing be an insult, but he managed it! Incredibly rude and unprofessional. I would have been better off printing at a public library. read more

ATTENTION FEDEX/KINKOS you need to put some money into this Logan Circle location. The store is pretty from the outside however I dread ever having to come to the FED-EX/ Kinkos on 14th near P street. For mailing packagesFedEX, there is often a very long line. The circulation (layout) of this store is an abomination. For starters the delivery people come in and out of the same door customers use with their hand trucks and this chaos of people entering and leaving the store one honestly feels as if they are a third world marketplace. . There is often a messy stack of boxes behind the register which gives one the impression that their packages are sure to get lost. The staff are slow and seem unfamiliar with the duties they have at hand. There should not be a line so long that it continues to the front door. The location of the register is wrong as well, as it forces customers to line up next to the work station with forms/ stay out of the way of the delivery men and stay within the constrained space of the front door and the register. So much of the square footage is taken up selling presentation materials like useless binders and rubber bands. These could be stacked on a wall or in a different part of the store. That space is better utilized by those who are spending real money at this place (i.e. people sending packages, picking up print jobs or needing to use workstations.) Their are not enough computer work stations. Often one has to wait for a computer and the equipment (like printers) at the workstations are never working when needed. Staff seem not to understand how they work. Workstations should not be next to the toilets that exude a horrible smell, not to mention these toilets need to be kept clean. Staff needs better training and for this I blame management. I have wasted to much of my time standing in line waiting for the staff to weigh and prepare packages for customers. Staff need to learn how their equipment works, how to ship packages to be able to inform customers on what each category on the slips means and most importantly how to speak politely to the customers that keep them in business. There needs to be auxiliary staff to open a second register when the line is reaching the front door. The experience here is so bad, that I would rather ask favor from friends than to use this facility. read more

WHAT IS WRONG WITH FEDEX? Two really bad experiences. Thinking something is amiss at FedEx and that UPS even USPS might be the better option. Certainly the safer option. In the first instance I dropped a nice desk (to be assembled and in original packing) at the 14th St. store in Washington, DC. Shipping it to my son. This was late afternoon on Saturday, Dec. 13th. This was a large box 2 by 4ish feet. The store was chaotic and the lone person working there said he was there filling in. A line to the door. Lots of frustration by customers. Lots. I had been there an hour and needed to get to another part of the city and the counter guy said it would be a few minutes so I attached the shipping label, was told he would process later. So i left. The desk disappeared. The store said it was not in its log. FedEx customer service said they couldn't help talk to the store. A box that size doesn't just disappear. Someone stole it. Gone without a trace. FedEx screw up number 2 last week. In Key Largo and i drop a FedEx package at the front desk of the resort. Per standard procedure, they log it in and place it in a FedEx box with daily pickup. A week later I start tracking. It is nowhere. For a full week FedEx forgot to make pickups. I was assigned a "customer advocate" and it was maddening. They are anything but. They are patronizing and full of unhelpful and false information such as it was due to weather. Weather? Excuse me, It was sunny and 70 every single day. No, they just screwed up and couldn't even offer "we are sorry for our mistake and we are going to get this package to the bank tomorrrow." So another 5 days later they deliver. So....11 days after the package was originally placed in the FedEx box it has arrived at its destination. 11 days!!! And they were going to charge me extra to get it delivered overnight after the first screwup Hard to figure this out other than corporate arrogance. And some incompetence. read more

If I could, I would give this FedEx location zero stars. Almost every single time I go, the person working there is either unhelpful, rude or both. I went in recently to try and ship a gift to my niece in Texas. After waiting for 15 mins, while no other customer was in the store, the clerk finally looks up at me and says 'yes' in an annoyed tone. I won't go into the full back and forth, but let's just say that what should have been a simple exchange of information about shipping rates was completely unprofessional and antagonistic. This morning I went in to mail a few packages. Immediately the FeEx employee told me sternly "Mam, you have to go to the work station to fill that out" even when I pointed out that someone else was at the work station. Once the FedEx employee quit harassing me about where I was filling out my forms, she began entering the address for the package. When the label printed out she had completely butchered the address that I had clearly written on the form. She would not admit it was wrong, but only scratched it out and wrote the correct address. I asked when the package would arrive and she replied 2 days. I asked "Saturday?" (since today is Thursday) and she said "Two Days , mam! MONDAY!" I didn't even try to correct her. It will be a miracle if my package arrives in 2 days, "Monday", as promised. read more

This place is horrible. Twice I've gone to ship things out and no when is there during their posted hours. If you say you'll be open at 8:00 am on a Saturday, you should be open at 8:00 am. This made me so angry as I was carrying a decent amount of items to be shipped out and had to walk all the way home with nothing accomplished. Much should get your act together! read more

I have tried this location on several occasions. They will never have your prints ready. Customer service is truly awful. One employee in particular is very rude, difficult to understand and is not a problem solver. I sent prints over and he could not print them saying they weren't attachments. I know Mac IMail can be frustrating with this but others there have been able to print them. Never got a call or email that he had a problem. Waste of time. read more

I don't know if they specifically look for the most ignorant, least compassionate, inarticulate people to hire - but somehow they manage to do so.
