Be warned- you need your ID to enter this location. It does not say anywhere online that you need an ID to drop off a package at fedex and I've never had to show an ID to get into a FedEx before. I tried calling the location, but fedex does not allow you to speak to a human being, so I couldn't get through to anyone. They make it impossible to deal with even the slightest problem, I can't imagine what it's like actually being their customer. I'd avoid this location and FedEx in general. read more

After my package was not delivered when I was at home and I was unable to speak with a live representative over the phone even after I scheduled a drop off request and was unable to get verification of my request to pick up my package, I decided to go to the FedEx Ship Center at 1501 Eckington Place NE, Washington DC. Holly welcomed me and told me she was there to help solve my problem. She took the extra step to contact the driver and was able to get my package redelivered to me. I appreciated the exemplary customer service she provided to me. She was professional, knowledgeable, patient and made me feel like she cared. "Delivery" driver James decided not to even bother trying to get a signature for my package, left within 30 seconds. This was after the package was delayed for no reason and 4 days late. Now I don't have what I need for work tomorrow. And you have to call national customer service, there's no direct line to this site, so I just had to sit on the phone all day with various people who directly lied to me and told me my package was on the way when it wasn't. Obviously the driver didn't get out or come to the door, they just marked the package as customer not available. This was on February 21, 2023 on Wisconsin Avenue. There was this complete asshole yelling at Egypt and Aiesha. both remained SUPER calm and then Egypt promptly took care of me. Just straight-up useless. Trust me, after trying five times, don't pay for overnight shipping from FedEx if you live in Northeast DC. They run up to the door, slap a door tag, and run away. Repeat this three times, then it gets returned to the sender. It doesn't matter what delivery instructions you provide, if you're home, cell phone number, any of that. FedEx Ground is fine and operated out of a different facility that actually pays people to deliver packages? Weird, right? read more

The worst customer service ever. They are slow and understaffed. I'm here waiting now and this is the third time I've tried to get my packages. The information is so inconsistent --when you call customer service, they say it's here but when you get here, they say it's on the truck!!! This is the 4th time this has happened with time sensitive packages. Makes no sense to pay for overnight service-- wait allll day at home for it to arrive when you could've been doing something else and they say the driver took it back to the facility without attempting to deliver. The Fedex driver left a delivery slip at my house when I had a package. He did not properly fill out the paperwork. I schlepped to the location to get my item. I was told that the item was still out for delivery. Fedex - please get on the same page with me. And while you have the page.....check the correct box. The only positive thing I can say about this location is that the drive is shorter than to the post office. The Fedex store employees have no sense of urgency. There are security cameras that show the line of customers inside. Why can't someone monitor that? An employee entered the area to chat with his coworker and not open up a new line. When he forgot his card to swipe open the door and was trapped on the store side I asked, "While you are stuck, could you open another line?" crickets.... I avoid using Fedex because we have issues with drivers not knocking, not leaving slips and not accurately updating the delivery records. I spoke to the Fedex manager. He was facing me but everything about his expression and body language was screaming, "I dismiss you." I would not suggest using Fedex. If you must use Fedex, avoid this location. read more

One of the least fun things to do is to play package tag with FedEx. I am lucky enough to work nearby so that it wasn't that difficult for me to make time to get there. So since this was package tag. Me shipping something and then needing to sign for my received package, I made a couple of trips within the week. Because this preceded the holiday, I was expecting some wait-time and that is what I received. On both occasions I witnessed good customer service rendered. I even saw an ESL woman helped and the woman behind the register pointed out the phone based options en Español. In many instances language barriers can lead to bad customer service but in this instance, that wasn't the case. The first time I visited was around noon and there was only one person working the counter. The second time was after 5 p.m. and there were two people. So just as hours were extended for the holidays, an adjusted was made for increased patronage. Another thing that I noticed was hurried people coming in without their stuff together. With people at the register, there would be people asking for tape or if the boxes were free or whatever else that slowed up everyone else's transaction. All of this would've flowed more smoothly with more staff but we all know how that goes. Both of my needs, shipping and receiving were expedited well enough so I can't complain. I really can't so I am going to go out on a whim and give 4 Stars. Sure things could've been faster but I'm really not in that much of a rush. p.d. I even called after 9 p.m. to get my package at this particular location and got someone on the phone, I doubt they were Metro D.C. based, but after two missed deliveries, one which I could've come to the door, I liked being able to get this done. read more

Please explain HOW it goes onto the van for delivery at 520 pm and at 524 pm it lists that, I am "not available for delivery" when I live TWENTY MINUTES AWAY? This is is the second time I've had packages delivered from this facility. Both time it says that delivery attempt was made and no answer from customer. I work from home and that is not possible. Their drivers are a bunch of liars. When you call to make a complaint, they give you the run around. FedEx should do a better job hiring drivers. I needed my medication and because of them I'm missing a dosage from my much needed medications. I've stayed on the phone hours to have my package redelivered. They are no where in sight. They where Great!!!) I went to the Verizon store at National Press in Washington DC. I had a phone for my Mother, who is up in age, delivered to my home. I paid the $13 to have the phone delivered the next day, Wednesday, November 10. I received a text that stated my package was on the way and would be delivered by 8 pm on the 10th. I waited all day, even sitting outside waiting on my package, only to receive a message that stated there was an attempt to deliver customer not available/ business closed. This was a LIE no one came to my home to deliver the package as I was home on my front porch at that time. Fed Ex employee #4111301 was the one who selected that option and returned the package to the office. I then called the FedEx customer service number to see if I could get more information about my package and why it was not delivered on Wednesday and explained that no one came to my home yet said they did. The customer service reps, because I spoke to multiple people, were not that much help. They told me my package should be delivered by 7 pm now on Thursday, November 11. So again, I waited and sat outside closer to 7 pm, and again I received a text at 6:59 pm saying that there was an attempt to deliver my package customer not available. This was now the second LIE told since I was sitting right outside my home, and NO ONE came from FedEx. I received a message saying there would be a final attempt to deliver my package on Friday, November 12, but there was no update time. Now very concerned, I called the customer service number back and asked if they could tell me the facility my package was held at because I felt like they were not going to deliver my package and pull the same stunt again. I could not risk not receiving my package. I explained I would just go to the facility and pick it up. I was told by the customer service rep that they could not tell me what facility my package was at and that there was a restriction on my package that only the shipper could request the package to be held. I called Verizon, and they explained that there was no restriction on my package, and they were not sure why FedEx kept telling me this. So I called Customer service back, explained what the shipper said, and was on the phone with them for almost 30min before the customer service rep finally gave me the address where my package was housed. However, she kept saying even if I went up to the facility, they would not give me my package because of the restrictions. I decided to take my chance and drove to the FedEx facility at 1501 Eckington Pl Ne Washington, DC. I went into the facility to inquire about my package and the restriction that was on it. I was told there was no restriction and that I could wait until the driver returned and received my package. I wasted almost 2 hours of my time waiting at the facility for my item. The employee in the facility kept trying to reach the driver's manager to see where her location was. Finally, at 8:30 pm, I went back into the facility for an update, and the lady inside let me know she would come to get me once the driver returned. 5min later, she asks was someone at my house which I replied yes, and she said we reached the driver and they would deliver it now, which was at 8:35 pm on Friday, November 13. I had my sister go out to get the package while I was on the phone with her, and I was still at the facility with the employee. She gave my sister my package yet did not have her sign for it, although the receipt says it was signed for by me, which was a LIE. I feel I only received my package because I went and sat at the facility until I had it. Even the worker at the facility said that the driver there do whatever they want and she wasn't surprised my package wasn't delivered. This was a HORRIBLE Experience!!! I paid for next day service and still waited three days to receive my package after going to the facility. The customer service was no help and gave out misinformation. I was hung up on by customer service and had to keep calling back until I got some answers. FedEx needs to really train their driver better. They are committing fraud by saying they attempt to deliver things that they have not. I plan to write a letter to the corporate office as well, so no one else has to experience this. Dear Ms. Sharon, My name is Roger, and I work for a major law firm in Wash., DC. We gave our regular FedEx driver a highly sensitive package that didn't have a label on it. That's when I encounter this Amazing person (Agent Holly) Friday night in the parking lot around 9:30 pm at your FedEx Distribution Center on Florida Ave. This soft-spoken GOD sent Angel was able to hear my concern Friday, and she told me to come back on Saturday morning. Saturday morning, Agent Holly was able to retrieve the unlabeled box, and I was able to place the label on the box for shipping.
