I'm not sure why the reviews for this FedEx location are so negative !? If we're talking about FedEx as a whole.. I completely understand the frustration 100% but this specific shipping location I have nothing but good things to say. Arnold & Wes are absolute gems ! They both are extremely experienced, knowledgeable and provide some of the best customer service I've experienced at a shipping location. I've had multiple packages that require signatures over the last couple of weeks and even last year and I still remember Arnold because he has always been so consistent, helpful and professional. Both of these guys go above and beyond. I've watched them handle a busy line of customers quickly and efficiently while still making sure everyone feels taken care of. It's super refreshing to see people walk out smiling, laughing or feeling like their issue was actually handled. Arnold & Wes, you both deserve recognition because you make this location stand out. I've had the worst time trying to contact this location. The only phone number listed is FedEx's national 1-800 Customer Service line. I called it hoping to get transferred to this specific San Diego Ship Center, but there's no way to reach a human -- not even through a phone tree. As it's set up now, the only way to talk to someone here is to show up in person. But even then, the only staff available are front-of-store employees who can't actually help -- they just point you back to the 1-800 number. That's unfair to them: it's not their job to absorb complaints they have no ability to resolve. And it's unfair to customers, who shouldn't have to jump through this many hoops just to get a problem addressed. The frustrating part is that my actual issue isn't complicated. But it's dragged on for days because FedEx has made it functionally impossible to reach anyone at this store who can address it -- and that's created a cascade of new problems on top of the original one. read more

Fedex was to deliver my package Tuesday but it is thursday now and no on seems to know where it is so i can just pick it up. I was on the phone with them for hours each day and even took off work to be home when my expensive phone came but it never came and every day it says out for delivery before 8am which is bs. i will NEVER deal with Fedex again. The last time I did, they left the package on top of the mail boxes in the front where its easy to steal from. i dont trust them at all since my package just seemed to have disappeared!! read more

FedEx is the worst shipping service employing incompetent morons. Had a package that needed to be signed for, the contents needed to be kept cold, so I made sure someone was home the day it was supposed to be delivered. The person who was home informed me that it never came, when they checked outside a note was on the door. Meaning the driver didn't bother knocking. The next day they came again & left another note. I was home, in a room right next to the door, so I know the driver didn't knock. I called customer service immediately after finding the note. They said they were going to put a notation in the delivery instructions, I told them not to bother & return it to the sender. The next day I find another note on the door. Nothing over the weekend, then on Monday I get a call from FedEx saying they have a package for me. I informed them again of their drivers incompetence & asked if the package has been kept refrigerated as it has to remain cold. He didn't know but didn't think it had been, so I told him that I wouldn't be signing for it anyway & that I would inform the sender of the incompetence of FedEx. read more

This FedEx was suprisingly better than I thought. I was scared to visit this Fedex with all these negative reviews, but it seems like it grew over the years. The employee there was a really straightforward and simple person, and I was able to ship my item easily. If you're worried about going here because of the ratings, just know that it changed a lot, and it's literally just like any other FedEx shipping center. read more

Let's say up front I am a fan of FedEx! This particular center, for as large as it is, manages to hid itself very well off of 47th street. I drove by it twice even with my phone's GPS on! Well, it's not three star for that reason. I start with three stars for this particular outlet due to marginal customer service. I didn't think there was any incompetence at all, just wanted courtesy to be better. The way shops treat their customers is highly important to me. I felt little love from the staff here, but they were not intentionally rude either - I have to be fair. But still. I came to pick up a Sigma 56mm lens for my canon M-50 to keep it from being pirated at my home. I wonder if they were suspicious of me because I was taking some photos on my iPhone when I went into the store. The appearance of this FedEx is good on the inside. No problem with that. They just wanted to turn customers in and out of the shop in a semi gentle, meat-grinding way. I'm going to leave this one at three stars and I would use this particular FedEx ship center again if needed. Let me start by saying the first 3- times I used this service I was very discouraged and upset with the total operation and customer service. The agents were rude, slow and inconsistent. Some of the agents ask for your ID before greeting you, some have you fill out forms before you get to the register and once you get to the register they ask you all the information you just wrote down on the form. It was crazy to me that everyone had a different procedure. Now that I am at this FedEx at least once a week I have become familiar with the agents and their procedures. I appreciate FedEx because they delivery as scheduled and my packages arrive on time and in good shape. I love that it has a convenient location and easy to get to. I would like to see friendlier agents and my experience at this Fed Ex has gotten better. I am giving them 4 stars because of the delivery service. read more

Please be aware that fed-ex does not use the tools they create. I provided delivery instructions which no one read. The informed me over the phone that using the delivery instructions are at the discretion of the location. When I picked up the package and asked about the delivery instructions, per their manager they did not check. I had to pick up my own package that should have been delivered due to incompetence. If I did this at the hospital, I'd be fired. On top of that the front desk employee felt the need to chime in. If I were a man, that would've never happened, but because I'm a woman I can be disrespected in a place of business for expressing my complaints and concerns. Never again. I was suppose to receive my package on 5-20-2025 but received a voice mail that it did not have a suite number. I called and gave them the suite number and they told me that it will be delivered on Thursday. I asked them to hold it that I would rather pick it up. When I went to the FedEx office they told me it was in the truck that it will be delivered. They had the correct suite number so I waited for the package it never arrived. I called the customer service because customers are not allowed to have the office number located on 47 street San Diego, CA 92102. I informed them of the importance of the package. After several calls and a multitude of delivery promises they have indicated that after 5 days they don't know where the package is. This was a 2 day delivery. They indicated they escalated this issue 4 times but the delivery office is not responding. They said they contacted the Manager and he is not responding. I am a small business and I am losing customer and income because of this inability to follow through and retrieve the package. I am a small business and need the package to complete my job. They assured me that it will be delivered on Friday at 5:30 and that I will receive a phone call. When I called back they it is still not delivered and they can't find it. There are just businesses in this area I can't believe that they have kept the package. I am considering filing a police report because enough is enough. This goes far beyond just a mis delivery. No one is being held accountable and responsible for their actions. I am also going to send a formal complaint to the Better Business Bureau, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and state regulatory authorities, and may consider legal action for negligence. read more

I am ordering a package from China via Fedex and informed by Fedex that the address is incorrect. I call 800-463-3339 over 6 times + to try to reach a live person to give them my correct address and each time I request a representative I am told that the virtual assistant can help me with any problem, so I ask to give my correct address and they inform me that only the origin in China can change the address. I ask repeatedly for representative and after giving system my tracking # several times they offer numerous choices, none of which address my problem with address and every time Fedex informs me that everything is OK and 6+ times they hand up on me. Sometimes we need to speak with a live person, but Fedex NEVER allows you to. Fedex has the worst Customer Service in the World since you NEVER are able to speak with a live person unless you travel to their offices which is over 10 miles away. Accordingly, in the future, i shall avoid using Fedex in the future and opt out for USPS, UPS or any other carrier. read more

I shipped a package through Ebay and received an email notice of a supposed discrepancy in shipping weight. Apparently my package weighed 2.70 lbs. and I only paid for 2.69 lbs. They then decided the billable weight was 3 lbs. But wait! When you purchase a label through Ebay it is in pounds and ounces. They charged me $6.39 for one one hundredth of a pound! .001! About 1/5 of an ounce! Which couldn't have happened because they don't weigh things in hundredths of pounds! Ebay said I was right and I would get a refund. Almost 2 months and 3 calls later and still nothing. This is the second time in 6 months this kind of thing has happened with Fed-Ex. I should have disputed the charge with my bank. I still might have to. USPS and UPS will be my only choices going forward. read more

I was charged $138.00 for a 2 day delivery of a 14 x 14 x 14" box that weighed a few pounds. It took a week to arrive, AND I had to drive 90 min one way to pick it up because they "could not find the address". Buuut, it's a quiet street and I was there allllll day. No truck came by. When I read the info on the tracking number, there were at least 2 days that listed "operational delay". When I spoke to one representative at the airport transit, I was told that I qualified for a refund. When I called the 800#, I was told that there was no money back guarantee. Then why am I paying $138.00 for a 2 day delivery service? Money back guarantee or not, 2 days is quite different than a week, and it doesn't mean you balk on any inkling of accountability. These are the signs of a careless, profit driven, greedy, and toxic monopoly. There's no money back guarantee at a steak house, but they still take accountability for their product And service (cook you a new one or comp your meal). This place has made me into a review person. I had to go in because my insurance company sent me FedEx labels to send in some paperwork. I left my wallet on the counter. I came back when I realized my mistake and they said they had no wallet. I was told multiple different times/dates to come back to talk to a manager. I was then told that management couldn't help me and I had to come back when security personnel was on premise. In the end, no manager would ever come out of the back to talk to me (nor would the security). I was told on my final visit to come back with cops if I wanted to see the video. After this whole experience, I am under the impression that someone that worked their stole my wallet and that was why I was told to "come back with a warrant". Worst ever. They have one driver who is actually competent. Everyone else can't find a simple address and they don't provide company phones to the drivers so that they can call for assistance. They have wasted expensive coolant sensitive medication twice now. When you call all they can do is create a case instead of directing the driver to return to the address. read more

Updated my review from one star to three stars for this reason: Wesley ended up being the most helpful human being I have interacted with at FedEx when visiting this physical shipping center location in person. He informed me drivers may skip over deliveries if signatures are required but that we can download the FedEx app (which might be less glitchy than the website) and request that no signatures be required. Then he (mostly importantly) *gave me my package* which is the opposite of what customer service, over the phone, told me would happen if I visited the location today. I'm glad I did not listen to her and visited anyway. Original review: Not a single package I have ordered that this location has been responsible for delivering to my address has been delivered. Not one. UPS has no issue. USPS does fine. At my previous addresses, other FedEx locations did their job. But this FedEx? They can't seem to do their one job of delivering my packages to my house. I arrived at this location at 7:46 to send a package that was needed quickly. The location was scheduled to close at 8:00. I had already prepared a shipping label and just needed it put in a box (sleeping bag and coat, easy to box). As I walked toward the door I saw an older man standing behind the counter. When he saw me he started waving his arms and shaking his head "NO". I paused and looked at my watch, 7:48. He kept waving and shaking his head. I was dumbfounded. I started back to my vehicle and looked back and he had turned off the lights. If there was a legitimate reason to close early like connectivity issues I would completely understand. Zero attempts to deliver, not able to pick up at FedEx office due to retailer (Dell, horrible as well). Hung the signed copy of my release of signature on the door. Nothing. Called customer service, wouldn't let me speak to a supervisor, refused to give me any employee ID, everything about my interaction with this company has been horrible. I ponder and wonder about what I got in the mail so I decided oh hell why not so I drove there but you have the option to call the number and re-deliver. This Fedex location is better if you take the 805 freeway and exit home ave and then make a right on Fairmount then go up the Hill and you should see this location on the right hand side. As you proceed through the automatic doors there will be a teller. I gave the teller my door tag note I received plus showed proof of identification because I had to require a signature. Poor service and responsibility for deliveries. I had a package that was being delivered to me which required my signature. I was out of town for the week it was being delivered so when I got back, I saw the notice posted on my door that the package would be at the center here for me to pick up. Also, it was not to be out for delivery again. The next day I went by to try and pick up my package and they said that the package was somehow Out for delivery again. So I go home and see the same notice posted on my door and thought they must made a mistake and so I will go back the next day and try and pick up my package. To my surprise, when I got there the next day and waited in line for 30 minutes because there is only one person working the Service Desk, they told me that's the package was again out for delivery. Then, I found out through calling their customer service number that the package was not scanned until after i left their store and it was actually not out for delivery. So I had to return back for the 3rd time in order to pick up this package. This fedex center has terrible problems with their service, communication, and logistics. read more

Could visible see staff through the door window but they don't care about watching the front public area for entering customers, although there are at least two cameras that make it possible. I was given a window of 1pm-5pm and the delivery driver came to my door at 11:45am. Since it was well before the time window I was given, I was not home. The logical, courteous thing to do would be to call a customer 30+minutes to ask if they'll be home if you're early but instead I got a call to say "are you here? I'm at your door" He said that he'd return today, as I need to package TODAY. The delivery window is just about to close and the delivery has not been made. I do not have a tracking number since I ordered the package through Lowes home improvement - I have all information from Lowes' including order and shipping numbers, but the delivery driver did not leave a slip or anything with that information so, when I called FedEx, they were unwilling to help me determine what was going on with the delivery. Despite having my name, address, and phone number on file, they were unwilling to help me. This alone is beyond infuriating. **Changing this review to 5 stars (from 1 star) because the driver came back later in the day as promised. While on the past, FedEx drivers have not returned when they should have, this one changed my opinion to a positive one. read more
