It was helpful to have a dedicated time and place to focus on training our dog with expert oversight when corrections were needed. Le and the team were calmly persistent with puppies and focused on achievable and useful training: sit, stay, down, leave it, and leash training. There is a total black ring around the pool and it's been growing for months. The water temperature itself is under 52°. When I called to ask them specifically to let me know if the water was heated, I was responded with, we can't go back and check the temperature but we know it's over 70°. This was not true. I took a thermometer with me in that water was absolutely cold. My dog, being the toddler that he is, refused to give up because he loves swimming. I don't know how clean and or how safe this water truly is I'm sure that a call to the board of health, would change a few attitudes. And possibly the water?

He's definitely a 'my way or the highway' kind of dog, but the team at WMK9- Well Mannered K9 was incredible with him. They boarded him for a week and a half and kept us completely at ease with frequent photo and text updates showing he was happy and comfortable. It was so heartening to see him making friends and enjoying his own 'vacation.' I also love that they offer flexible training programs both onsite and at-home. The puppy was one of a litter of ten. I found Stephanie Forester at ElaGant Acres on Good Dog. Her price was very good. The puppy was not potty trained like she said the puppy would be, socialized with other animals, and other things she said. The puppy has medical problems that have to be taken care of. The vet even called Stephanie a "questionable breeder." She is kind in her messages, but is cold in person. Maybe she was having a bad day, I don't know.

6/4/22- Here's my review of Artisan Dog Training (Adam)…read more Adam spent 2-months on my Dutch Shepherd correcting problem areas & teaching good obedience.  Initially I wanted to focus on this and that for Cassie, but I was going about it the wrong way. Initially during a few 1-hr sessions, I saw Adam's mastery in action almost instantly.  I realized that  weekly 1-hr classes weren't cutting it, and that month-long bootcamps were MUCH better for my hyper Dutch Shepherd. She was hyper, wouldn't listen, had obedience issues, beginning to be destructive, and VERY unsocialized (frightened of people!).  Not good for a Dutch Shepherd puppy of 3-months!! During the 2-month bootcamp, Adam first established a framework to FOCUS my dog's attention by establishing trust & communication which doesn't happen overnight.  This takes time, but KEY to garner my dog's obedience. Once done, Adam was able to unlock my dog's potential & focus on obedience training for her to be a good citizen. These are the things Adam worked on with Cassie: - Corrected bad behavior (jumping, biting/nipping) - Basic Commands (come, heel, down, wait...etc) - On/off leash activities (verbal/non-verbal commands) - MAJOR work on socialization (people, dogs) My lack of understanding how to socialize my puppy had drastic effects on her.  She would cower behind me or pull away strongly when meeting strangers.  Fixing this took more than just going to PetSmart for socialization.  She needed to focus first, understand that strangers were normal.  Again, Adam worked pretty hard on this. Result: My hyper Dutch Shepherd was much more manageable, no longer jumped on me or would bite thinking it was play.  She also learned how to potty on command & her socialization improved GREATLY compared to before!  Now I have to do "my part" to reinforce this training & make this permanent.

She nipped at everyone in my family and outright attacked the first trainer we called. My vet recommended Mike since he wasn't just a basic obedience guy but also did behavior. Working privately with Mike, my dog went from aggressive and anti-social to one of the friendliest dogs you could ever meet. More than that, after her behavioral issues resolved, we worked with Mike to get her certified as a therapy dog! We currently only have 2 male dogs, one which is not neutered. They basically told us that was not good enough and all of them must be neutered. How does that make any sense? We're trying to give Teddy a good home. Because of this places policies that's not going to happen. We have experience adopting dogs. Earlier this year we adopted a male from our local dog pound that required at $5,000 surgery that we had done for him. I hardly ever leave reviews but this place makes it much more difficult for loving penitential adopters to rescue an animal.
