I was able to attend two practices with Tammy. The first thing I thought when I pulled up was what a beautiful location they have for their studio! A historic old building surrounded by lush green lawns is the perfect atmosphere for a peaceful practice. Once inside, the scents of candles and essential oils instantly have a calming effect preparing any yogi for a great practice. Tammy was great! I am not very yoga savvy and she was so patient and helpful. Heading Om provides mats and props and each session is only 13 dollars! It's a great price for a great practice. If I ever find myself in Peoria again, I'll be "Heading Om."

Practicing there has completely entranced me with yoga for the great mental and physical benefits. Not to mention the wonderful staff and the great atmosphere. Classes are small so you get plenty of hands on instruction and all props and mats are provided. All you need to bring is yourself. During my pregnancy, Tammy always gave me variations to make practice more comfortable and safe which really meant a lot to me. Now they have prenatal yoga classes available too! They also offer Thai yoga but I haven't done one of those yet. The teachers are very warm and welcoming and you can tell that they love what they do.

Emilie scheduled and rescheduled until she built the perfect schedule. Gill, the instructor assigned to my daughter, is a ballerina and has a vast knowledge of how the body works beyond the stringent study for her Pilates reformer certification. Gill is a stickler for form and technique, which helps prevent jury and ensures the client gets the results they are working for. She was able to accommodate the request to not increase arm muscles, shrink waist and tighten up the hips. Gill is also fun and charming. Big thank you to Emilie and Gill. They have beginner classes which help newcomers learn the art and technique of Pilates, and intermediate classes that always offer the option of even more advanced moves. I have been at Plank for a little over a month, and I have truly fallen in love. The first class was free which was an awesome bonus. They have sooooo many fun classes on their website. I'll definitely check them out again for a Zumba class or Buti Yoga. I loved the colorful and powerful vibe of this place. The only odd thing is their entrance is in the back of a strip mall unless you want to enter through Curves. Both are a bit odd to enter as you feel like you are interrupting someone but other than that the place is cool.
