Yesterday after hitting a rock, I pulled over to grab some fresh apricots, peaches and plums and upon returning to the car I noticed a puddle of red liquid under my car. Emma was so kind as I navigated through the calls to insurance, AAA and finding a ride. She offered up waters and was a calming presence. Dave the owner was equally as great as he wasn't angered at all by the growing mess my car was creating and assured me that he would hose it off once the tow truck takes my car away. The fruit we brought home was fresh and juicy and without bruises! Supermarkets cannot compete with this kind of quality. Make your way to Lake Entiat Fruit Stand. You will not be disappointed!

Located on the main street of Wenatchee, Wenatchee Natural Foods offers organic, sustainable items, with lots of locally made products. It's not the largest grocer, but the selection was fantastic. We were able to get some grocery items here during our weekend trip and also tried the items that they prepare at the cafe area towards the back of the store. At the cafe area, they have a large menu of different drinks, with smoothies that are worth checking out. I loved the chocolate smoothie, which they make with almond butter and vanilla whey, so it's naturally sweetened. I also ordered a bowl, which you can make based on the different ingredients they offer, like a base of rice or beans, with different proteins and veggies. I customized my bowl with rice, curry chickpeas, avocado and steak and seasonal veggies and it served as two meals, which was delicious. For those wanting to dine in, they have a seating area on the side of the store, with outdoor seating where it's dog-friendly. It's a win for Wenatchee to have a store like Wenatchee Natural Foods, offering a great selection of healthy, wholesome items in a community-centric setting. Upon walking in on your right will be the flesh section. No they're not selling sex but it's an area devoted to meat, you know dead animals who sacrificed themselves for my enjoyment. Nice selection of the flesh including prepackaged sausages from CURRED. For those wondering what CURRED is well it's a local ( Leavenworth ) artisan , handcrafted dry cured meats shop. They offer more than 30 varieties of award winning salami, sausages, and specialty cured meats crafted using traditional methods and high quality ingredients. I grabbed a package of BEEF FRANKS BTW for consumption later... The beer section is epic for a local store but stocked with several local brands you can't purchase at Walmart or Safeway so load up a few 6 packs.... Shocking the produce section was amazing with some really choice vegetables & fruit with vibrant colors and fresh smells... Now in a hidden area is a deli of all things. Dan's staff of elf's are making sandwich's and deep fried items.. The cheap deep fried burritos looked amazing and FRANK made a mental note for next time to grab one... Granted it's a grocery store so most of the items you find anywhere. Yet Dan's has a certain style I appreciate and this is why I'm drawn to shopping here... This was an extraordinary display of flavors in balsamic vinegars…read more We went down a narrow flight of stairs from the street into another underground shop. Leavenworth is full of these curious corners that call out for exploration. We find a very pleasant gentleman offering greetings and samples of any product along with a bounty of information on the products. Vinegar is a product I'm not particularly fond of, but this particular high quality balsamic really turned me around. In a very clean environment, the shopkeeper draws a sample of any product into a small paper cup and gives us another cup with toothpicks and crouton sized cuts of bread. The first one we tried was an apricot balsamic and the flavor was very mellow. The apricot was not really strong and had a smooth flavor. The balsamic started mildly and ended with a pleasant fruit taste. Then we tried the pear balsamic and it was the opposite. The pear balsamic was a fairly thick liquid. It started with an 'almost pear schnapps' but smoothed immediately to a very strong pear flavor that finished with a pop of balsamic at the end. This shop is definitely for the vinegar connoisseur. We left with 4 bottles, one apricot and four pear, this stuff is good!
