I brought in my 5-year-old…read moreYorkie/Poodle mix, Río, and spent several minutes explaining that I wanted to keep his beard for a schnauzer-style cut. I explicitly said NOT to shave his beard and even showed a photo of Río with his freshly groomed beard for reference. His beard is his signature feature and he gets compliments on it almost every day. When I picked him up, the receptionist told me they had "accidentally cut the beard" and offered a 10% discount. While I was paying, she even asked if I wanted to leave a tip, which felt inappropriate given the situation. When I finally saw Río, his entire muzzle and face had been completely shaved down. It looked nothing like what we discussed, and I was honestly so shocked and upset that I started crying in the salon. When I tried to explain the situation to the owner, there was pushback from the receptionist about whether I had shown a photo. Regardless, I was extremely clear that his beard should not be cut and that's indisputable. They did refund me after seeing how upset I was, but the situation felt careless and dismissive. Río's beard was the most important part of the cut I asked for. I would not recommend Heartland and I won't be returning. I'm attaching photos of Río before (with his beard) and after the haircut so people can see the difference.

I asked at Petsmart why dog was crying while being brushed they LIED and said dog was aggressive and owner was called! I WAITED outside and asked the owner if Petsmart had called her to pick up her dog, she looked at me like I had two heads and said no why?? I told her about her dog crying in pain and asked her to please never take dog back! Dog was as sweet as could be and I was a stranger! Inexperienced and MEAN no patience! The owner, Jen, reviewed my desired Teddy bear cut including length and shape. Not only was the cut uneven, too short and butchered... my dog's EYELASHES WERE SHAVED OFF! When the owner Jen was questioned about the groom she was extremely argumentative and unapologetic! When asked why her eyebrows were shaved she responded 'well you didn't tell us not to cut them'- blaming me for the results! The Owner took zero responsibility, showed no compassion and offered zero refund! Her only response - 'I don't know what to tell you, we can't put the hair back on'. Our groomer showed me where they wait for each other (they share the same groomer) unlike the crate with the towel inside at the old groomer they wait in what looks like a mini hotel room. Air conditioned, sound proof room (not crate )with a glass door to see out, flat screen TV and a cot. One day they provided pupacino treats after their groom.
