We really liked Fellini's for a fancier dinner spot. Our service was a little slow to start, but picked up throughout the night. There were a lot of great options on the menu. We got the Bomba for an appetizer and devoured it within minutes. We also got the house wines, which hit the spot without breaking the bank. The service here was terrible from the moment we walked through the door. Both employees working the host stand were rude right as we arrived. Having made a reservation a week in advance via phone, we were excited to dine here. However, when we gave our name to the hosts, they let us know they didn't have our reservation and demanded to see our phone call log as evidence of the reservation. When we pulled up the phone record showing the phone call where we made the reservation, they continued to doubt whether we actually made a reservation (we literally showed them the 4 min conversation/phone call in our call log...). After looking closer, the employees realized that they had made a mistake and put our reservation on the wrong date. Instead of apologizing for their mistake and trying to make it right by finding us a table, they proceeded to blame us for not answering an alleged missed call from them the prior day (which we did not receive and showed them as much). Finally they let us know they could try to accommodate us on the patio despite the poor weather. We ultimately left because they were SO rude, a stark contrast to the exceptional customer service we typically find all around Stratford after visiting from out of town for 15+ years. Decided to try this place for dinner. We were a party of two. The host was standoffish upon our arrival and asked if we had a reservation. We didn't, it was 530pm with plenty of tables still free. Our server (Beckalini) was very pleasant, efficient, knowledgeable and friendly. We ordered the following: 1. One lb mussels a casa-about 30-35 PEI mussels. Mussels were a good size, the flavour was delicious and not too salty. Soup was great to dip the complementary bread into. (The complementary bread was cold but soft) 2. Veggie Lasagna - made with grilled eggplant and cheese with a side of arugula and garlic butter toasted bread. It was a tad on the salty side but oh so good. The arugula paired with each bite of the Lasagna made for a great combination. The garlic butter toast was sooo good. 3. Classic Lasagna - very rich but so yummy. Layers had two types of meat (beef and pork), two cheeses (mozzarella and ricotta) and lots of basil. It also came with two slices of garlic butter toast. 4. Mini Creme Brûlée - very cute. Very sweet. Sugar wasn't burnt so that was good. Overall an ok brûlée 5. Chianti - received a full glass (about 150ml) for $9.50. Medium bodied, semi-sweet, happy with the flavour Overall we were happy we gave the place a try. I had not eaten at Fellini's in at least 6 years, and recalled it being a bit blah back then. We were in the mood for Italian, so our group of 4 made a reservation, and we are all glad we did! We started with drinks, and I enjoyed the citrus sangria. I ordered a bruchetta to share, and we found the toasted bread delicious. There was so much topping in the bowl that we used it with the regular loaf as well. We didn't want a real heavy meal before going to the evening performance of "Billy Elliot", so two of us split the Calzone Verdura and two split a pizza. Half of either entree was fine, along with a side salad. The spinach salad was tasty and fresh, even though nothing special as far as ingredients go. The calzone pastry was wonderful, lighter than many I've had. The veggies and cheese inside were again fresh and yummy. Reports on the pizza were also very favorable. Our server was prompt and very cheerful. She was also accommodating on the split orders. That even extended to dessert. If you order gelato or sorbet, you get two scoops. I ordered the mango sorbet (very fruity) and another woman ordered the chocolate gelato (rich, with a pretty intense flavor). The kitchen readily split our orders, so each of us tried both the gelato and sorbet with no extra charge. Nice! I will be returning to Stratford at the end of September, and am seriously thinking of revisiting Fellini's. I may have to get another of the calzones, or try another item and see if I'm still as thrilled. It was a real improvement over what I recall from years ago. Bravo! read more

Loved the ambience of Fellini's. A few friends and I visited the restaurant and were not disappointed! We started with the bruschetta. The bread was warm and delicious, and the bruschetta itself was fresh. It was tomatoey and garlicky, just how bruschetta should be! I loved the bread, honestly. It was warm and seemed to be baked with olive oil (?) Whatever it was, it was amazing, fresh and soft with the perfect amount of crisp to it. Once we ran out, our server got us more bread. I chose the penne fellini. It was fresh, and I loved the lighter pesto sauce that was used as opposed to the traditional heavier pesto. The pasta was perfectly al dente! An upscale resto with a relaxed feel. The restaurant is dedicated to Italian Director Federico Fellini. Definitely not your mothers pasta (unless she's actually old world Italian). This is pasta done well. Not huge portions that overwhelm you. Decent gluten free options for dinner and dessert. A lovely, quaint place. Had another memorable meal @ Fellini's after seeing "Napoli Milionaria" at Avon Theatre. Manager and his wife are always warm and welcoming. Enjoyed meatball appetizer and of course our favourite Grilled Asparagus Salad with Balsamic dribble on top of lovely greens. and lovely olive bread. My husband loved his linguine with meatballs in a marinara sauce. We will keep coming back every year as we love this restaurant and are never disappointed with food or service. I'd give Fellini's a 6 stars out of 5. We sat outside. Pleasantly covered by umbrellas and awnings. As an appetizer, we had warmed olives. Served with delicious Italian bread, and oil and balsamic vinegar. Excellent. I ordered a glass of house red, a Multepulciano, just right. Very good quality. We both had Nonna's meat lasagna in a tomato sauce It was simply superb. Best lasagna I ever tasted. It was a generous portion, so we were quite full. My wife took home a doggy bag of the lasagna and leftover bread. She had a coffee which she enjoyed. I had a sambucca, and it was also such good anisette. Our server, Amber, was cute, lively, cheerful, knowledgeable and attentive. Excellent service I just had to go back and compliment the chef, which he appreciated. The prices were very fair. Dinner for two with 2 drinks, approx $83 plus tip I left a generous tip because it was well deserved. This was a memorably enjoyable experience. Fellini's really made us happy on Sunday night. No plays to see, our last night in Stratford, and we just wanted to have a leisurely, tasty meal in a comfortable place. Fellini's did deliver! Restaurants close a little early in Stratford on Sunday, but we made a reservation (same day) for 7 pm and had plenty of time to linger over our meal. Our server was very friendly and personable (and cute), making us all smile. Especially me. Cute waiters are one of the great joys in life! But I digress. We got a carafe of pinot grigio which was fruity and juicy - we loved how they offered carafes instead of just glasses and bottles! My dad doesn't drink at all, and my mom and grandma and I didn't feel up to splitting a whole bottle (well, I did, but they didn't....) so the carafe was perfect. I was really in the mood for something classic, so I got the deep-dish lasagna and a side salad. We all got homemade bread (I feel like it was olive bread, or something....) that we dipped in oil, and then my salad arrived. Light, fresh, simple, easy to eat, but nothing special. The lasagna arrived hot and bubbly - I added housemade meatballs to it for some heft, and they were delicious. The portion didn't look too big, and I did finish all the noodles/cheese, but the meatballs were so hefty that I couldn't eat them all. It was perfect classic comfort food. I was so satisfied. My mom and grandma split a pizza which was the perfect thing to do for light eaters, and my dad enjoyed his spaghetti and meatballs. I'd recommend this place to anyone - I so rarely eat at places like this anymore, where you walk in and the smell of garlicky red sauce hits you immediately. It really has a classic feel. And you can draw on the tables! Well not on the tables, but they have paper and crayons on the table, so dad and I drew some cartoon dinosaurs like the children we are. We went to Felinni's for a special birthday dinner. Reviews were good and it seemed very busy so it seemed like a safe choice. Service was okay, perhaps a little spotty to begin with. Appetizer was quite good so it started well. Sadly all three entrees were quite poor. Pizza warmish and should have been sent back. Sauces on the pastas tasted like they were from a can and not at all what you would expect from a good Italian restaurant. None of us completed our meals and when we complained we didn't receive an apology at all. In fact, the floor manager, who had been around all night, literally went and hid. The waiter thought it better to argue with us about the food quality to the point that I lost interest in tipping her. Sadly this was a lost evening and we will never go back. read more

This was very good italian food. Service was good and the location is excellent in Stratford. The portions are generous and the selection is decent. I had a salad and a small plate. My friend had the lasagna which was huge. I thought the prices a bit high but I don't know if that is typical for the area. I had a white Sangria that was out of this world. My wife and I had an excellent lunch here, with myself having a sandwich and my wife having pasta. My sandwich was a pesto, goat cheese, and Portobello sandwich with a side soup, and the portion was a really good size, not too big but just enough. Everything was very fresh and tasty, and they were very accommodating to my wife's gluten allergy (almost all pastas can be served with gluten-free pasta, though unfortunately the sandwiches she could not have as they did not have gluten-free bread). The server was very friendly and attentive. The restaurant is in a great spot in Stratford, not far from some really nice walking paths and wonderful shops. Well it's been probably over two decades since I have visited here, but from what I can remember is that I had a great experience. I recall the food was amazing, the atmosphere made you feel like you were in Italy although I have never been, and the waitress was full of life and ready to serve. So overall as I said before from what I can remember about this place is why I have to give 5 stars. However you'd have to be the judge on that one yourself seeing as how things change over the years. Came here on Valentines Night. The restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside but is really gorgeous inside, very spacious while still having a great buzz and classy and romantic vibe to it. Service was excellent. Very friendly, smiley and fast. The free bread brought to the table was hot, fresh and crispy and came with copious amounts of butter on the side! Not the traditional Italian way, but definitely delicious! Both my bf and I had the chicken and bacon Alfredo pasta. Portion was huge and bacon was perfectly crispy. Sauce was creamy and thick yet nicely light. Chicken was a bit on the chewy side. We had the chocolate cake for dessert which was exquisite, but came in quite a small portion. Their Val Day menu policy was annoying. We read the menu outside, which had a huge range of reasonably priced pizzas, pastas and salads. This is what made us go in-the value and the choice. It was only when we were seated, after a fifteen minute wait, that we realised the Valentines special menu comprised of just five or six entrees at very inflated prices ($22+), with no option to order any of the regular offerings. I found this very deceptive, and as a result I probably wouldn't return here upon my next trip to Stratford, despite the decent food. read more

I went to this restaurant expecting to have good food and a good experience, but it was anything but. Their lunch menu is very misleading. They claim to have cheaper prices and more variety for lunch, but I was ripped-off. I ordered their lunch combo of make-your-own pasta and a soup or salad option. Salad was average, but good. However, I was absolutely SHOCKED when the waitress brought my pasta dish. The pasta came in a very small bowl (about the size of my palm) with literally 6 individual pieces of pasta. I wish I was exaggerating. When confronting the waitress, she informed me (with an attitude) that their lunch menu has smaller portions. They did not have this "fact" stated on their menu anywhere, and the waitress also did not mention anything to us. Makes me wonder what their dinner portions are like. So 6 pieces of pasta and a small side salad was $15. Needless to say, I will never being going back to this place. The food was average and definitely not worth the prices. Lunch menu is also extremely misleading, and I ended up paying only $2 less for lunch than dinner. read more
