I have had the great opportunity to meet some very nice, wonderful kids, as well as, some amazing tutors and hardworking NHR people. Some of the kids I have worked with have ranged from 3rd grade to 7th. We do various reading/literacy activities via workbooks, computer games, and of course in the books they choose to read. Some times they bring school work and they always bring great stories about their day or what they did over the weekend. There are always apples or tangerines, and string cheese available as healthy snacks for the kids. There is also an amazing amount of books there FOR FREE!! I get so nostalgic when I walk in there because I see all of my favorites from childhood lining the shelves: Nancy Drew, The Phantom Tollbooth, My Side of the Mountain, A Wrinkle in Time. The staff makes it so easy to jump in and tutor. They are very understanding, supportive, welcoming, and just phenomenal with all of the kids. They know them all so well. I find that overwhelmingly impressive because there are so many of them! Volunteer, donate, visit, or peruse here. It is a wonderful program and place here in New Haven.

I had a couple of conversations with this company. Reno gave me some great advice and he is very…read moreinsightful. However, there was another conversation we had where he lost his patience with me, and I felt he was very verbally abusive and extremely manipulative. I've also find this concerning because I know someone who was a student of his who has the same type of manipulating and picking and choosing who he's going to respect and disrespect as a film Director, so I think it's important to recognize that Reno may or may not be teaching some verbally abusive behavior. In my experience, he's too much of a hothead, he was trying to psychoanalyze me to hurt my feelings and I felt like if I worked with him it would be an experience where he would give me a lot of toxicity. I'm happy that he ended up refusing to let me take one of his classes that I was excited to take, because easily I would've avoided a very bad and abusive experience. Please stop picking and choosing who you're going to respect and disrespect.

His instruction is as minimal as it is profound. That is to say, he knows just how to get a student to struggle with the techniques before offering a tiny suggestion which serves as a leverage point for the actor to have a personal insight. Often these interventions come in the form of a simple question that compels his student to do that which is fundamental to acting, make a choice. Whether you are a beginning actor or a seasoned one, Reno and the talent he attracts will provide for you a dangerous yet nurturing place to grow in your craft.

The director Roxann is amazing, compassionate, understanding, and supportive. Ms. Crystal, Ms. Ketty, Ms. Taslima, and Ms. Pavarthi have been so good to us. Ms. Corey is so creative and interactive. I don't understand how this place is so highly rated, and cost such a high amount for the amount of compaints I received from my wife when picking up the kids and from my 3 year old herself. Ranging from my daughter crying to me about "writing the WRONG way" because she is left handed and being forced to use her right hand, to the teacher (Ms.Nicole specifically) not allowing her to use her blanket during nap time because she didn't want to sleep and was cold. This place is not nearly worth the amount of money it cost. Not to mention just the bad business aspect of it as well. I took a week long vacation, informed them I was going to be gone for the full week and my kids would not be attending that week and was still charged for the full-time service charge. I can understand charging me part-time for the week because I was still taking a roster slot, but not the full time charge, that's just bad business in my opinion trying to squeeze every dime out of their customers. On the note of charging your customers for every dime possible, during the one on one visit where they go over every aspect of the school they inform you of all the during school activities they do. Ranging from soccer, sports, dance classes, cooking classes and tons of great sounding things to get your children's creativity flowing. What they don't inform you of is they charge you for these classes extra, and pump it into your kids so they come home begging to do these classes. They also have a no discipline rule and rarely inform you when something goes wrong. My daughter was smacked in the face with a toy and came home with a large black eye and I was not given an "accident report" until I exclaimed my concern her eye upon picking her up. My children were only in their care for roughly 6 months and it was a terrible experience. If not for my promotion at work and allowing my wife to become a stay at home Mom I would not have kept my kids there and would of returned to a smaller situation that is more hands on like a home daycare. I can not stress enough how much parents should avoid this place! I've never put a review on Yelp.com before and made an account just to warn parents of this place because they should be aware of it. It's not a good place to put your kids. If even ONE customer decides not to participate in Kindercare because of this review then my 15 minutes writing this was not wasted.

From the office staff (who was most helpful) to the kind folks who assisted with my mothers recovery, I was very impressed with her care. She did exceptionally well, and recovered quickly. She is now home and continuing with additional physical therapy which Regency setup as well. Many thank to all who made this possible.
