We had two guys working on the fence and on day one they already completed one side which was awesome since we have dogs. It's day two and at 9:30am they are done! The fence looks amazing. I called Fence Factory to get an estimate for a new 50 Ft. redwood fence and a new gate. There was no one available to speak with. (Customer Service?). I was instructed to leave a message and someone would call me back by the end of the day. That day came and went. No call. I called back in the AM the next day and I was told "everyone is very busy, but you will get a call back today". Its been over four business days now without a call back. I will not try to call back, nor will I ever recommend Fence Factory in Ventura to anyone I know. Fence Factory supplied materials and erected about 60' of fence in my back yard. While there were many of 'handy' folk who said they could perform the job at a lesser price, I am happy with work of Fence Factory. It looks absolutely beautiful and I have no doubt in the integrity using redwood and 8' steel posts. They do take their time preparing, ordering dig alerts, etc. they also delayed my project a few weeks which was inconvenient as we suffered lack of privacy with opposite neighbor (Different story for different day). Because of the consequences of the delay, which I feel was in Fence Factory's control, they lack merit of 5 stars. Return? Yes Recommend? Yes, but anticipate delays. read more

My first time here and it will definitely be my last. Their is some old women in the office constantly yelling at the people at the desk. The office and shop area is a dump. I needed some fence pickets. They charge you for what they claim is top notch heart redwood. It's all wet, moldy, lots of holes and mostly sapwood. They also don't have listed prices and the price magically changed from when I called and went to pick it up. They get 1 Star for actually having what I needed. Other than that go to Home Depot or Lowe's if you can. They make you walk thru this shop that has numerous safety violations, people not wearing mask and very rude employees. read more

Kenney was great! I had read reviews before selecting fence factory to install my fence and gate (which turned out beautiful). What sold me were the comments regarding Kenney and the work done along with noting that the company has been serving Ventura County for more than 40 years! Kenney, came measured, made recommendations (tongue and groove..I wanted privacy) and gave me a quote. The only snafu was waiting for delivery of the wood. When it came in, his workers George an Alejandro did a fabulous job. They were conscientious to detail. Kenney got them started and monitored their work. Any questions I had he answered quickly. It was like he was making choices and decisions that were mine to make. He gave me no options whatsoever. None. I decided to use Fence Factory for a new home I purchased this summer. It is going through a major remodel so I have not moved in yet. In Sept, I got an estimate and the work was started in early Oct. The estimate was that it would take two weeks and we are now at nearly two months without completion. I have called and emailed my contact and I have not received a response in week. No one has picked up at the main line for the Saticoy location twice. Inexplicably hostile and unhelpful. Wow, I've used them in the past to put three rail fencing around my horse property and they were great (was many years ago.) After completing the online "bid estimate," for an iron fence around a patio, I asked for someone to come out to get measurements and a final price. First e-mail I get from Leslie is telling me how busy she is and it will be several weeks before she can get to me. OK, I understand busy, but that's not a great way to start the conversation. Then, she is incapable of scheduling via e-mail and needs me to call her (it's my job to call her, not vice versa). So, after not being able to reach her for several tries, I got her on the phone this morning. I told her my name, reminded her we've been exchanging e-mails regarding an iron fence and was promptly interrupted with "How can I help you" dripping with hostility. So...apparently this salesperson is angry that someone is bothering trying to make a purchase. I don't know what this woman's problem is, but I'm at the point in life where I just don't need to deal with angry people. Never again. read more

I visited the Fence Factory on the east end of Ventura yesterday looking for a couple of wheels for a gate that I am repairing for a customer. I brought a sample with me to match. After paying at the front, the gentleman at the counter sent me around back to pick up the parts. I received a bag with the wheels and went on way, not checking to make sure they were correct. The next day i took out the wheels and noticed they were not a match, one 5" and one 5-1/2" or 6". Soooo, I went back to get a matched pair and the guy at the counter was trying to tell me, they will work. I said i want a matched pair, he kept acting like it was my fault. He went to the back, brought out two wheels the same, threw them on the counter and said there you go....No apology no nothing for wasting an hour of my time... I was shocked at the lack of customer service. I will never go back there! read more

Even though it took us over 30 days to get approval from our neighbors to proceed they honored the original quote. By the time I got back to Ron the fence was partially blown down by the recent strong winds. Even though the schedule would have had us waiting 2-3 weeks Ron & his colleagues understood how desperate we were & had workers on site in less than a week. And they knocked the fence out in 2 days! Flakes!! So frustrating- I made an appointment for an estimate on a Friday. Even though I wanted a Friday afternoon the salesman Jeff G said an 8am appointment would work better for him. I had the Fence Factory do a chain link fencing job for me. The quality of the installation was pretty marginal. The gate was a bad fit. The posts were not plumb. The bottom of the fencing was several inches above grade level in two spots...possibly allowing my dog to "tunnel" below the fencing. It required me to do a lot of "tune-up" work after they were gone. The estimator (Kenny A.) was good to work with...and he is a good man. read more

Contacted Brian Ferris about a problem with one of our side gates that were installed a few years ago. The gate was rubbing against the posts making it difficult to open. Brian and Amador and crew were quick to respond and remedy the problem by replacing one of the hinges. The gates works great now. Excellent customer service and warranty. He also had to work with our two neighbors and tenant and handled it beautifully. After the recent wind event, my wrought iron fence was damaged and ready to fail. I called several local companies to come out and quote me to replace the fence. I can say i love my new fence. However, there customer service was poor. It took 3 weeks just to get a simple question answered and an install scheduled. After having multiple problems, we were finally helped by a supervisor, who got everything done like a pro. We were told our bill would be reviewed for a possable discount. We had payed half up front, but never got a bill. Now i have a late notice, with intrest attched, and a threat for a lien on my property! I never got a bill, phone call, email, or mail until now.
