Then to my surprise, he said he could be at my home in a few hours. I don't know many small businesses that immediately give you that "Amazon" experience. At the stated time on the dot, Steve and Chad appeared. After describing the problem, within minutes, it was fixed. While doing his work, a construction person doing other work inadvertently cut my pressure sensor for the gate. So fortunately, Steve was there and attempted to fix it, but it turned out that the entire sensor needed to be replaced. He will return for that job after the trenching is completed. I can easily give Gate Pro an outstanding recommendation. In today's world, finding a company that places the customer first is rare. If you have a misbehaving gate, look no further; call The Gate Pro. Here's my experience. I have an older Doorking driveway gate and one of its actuators started intermittently failing. I called a large local company that services these gates and they came out and did some cleaning and adjustments but after that it still occasionally failed. They came out again, didn't see anything amiss, and yet it still was subject to failing once a week or so. So I was out over $300 with no resolution. I was looking at having to replace the whole system to the tune of about $10,000 per their estimate. Wanting a second opinion, I called The Gate Pro. Steve came out, watched the gate move, and in THIRTY SECONDS determined that the issue was the motor. I mean LITERALLY 30 seconds. He is so experienced that he could tell just from the sound and the slightly irregular motion of the gate, neither of which were noticed by the other company. He ordered and installed a new motor, and that was that. The cost was a small fraction of the $10K I would have paid the other company for a replacement system. Steve is truly "the gate whisperer." So lucky to have Steve and Gate Pro in SB. We have had ongoing problems with the gate and repeated expensive service calls from Perimeter Security Systems in Ventura. They finally said our opener was worn out, not repairable, and we needed a new motor for $6,900. Fortunately, we decided to get another opinion and called Gate Pro. They were quickly able to troubleshoot, found missing screws on the motor, a loose hub, and the electric eyes not properly aligned. After GatePros service, the gate is working like new again. The first time we used The Gate Pro was to have them look at our front gates that were stuck open due to flooding. We always had problems through the years due to the circuit board getting wet. After dealing with several companies through the years replacing the motors, Steve was the first to suggest raising the motors. We trusted Steve to do the job. They raised and installed new motors. It was a really good idea, and they did a great job! That winter with the heavy rainfall and flooding, the motors remained out of water. Now our commercial roll-up door motor was giving us problems. I called Steve. He came out and said that the 30 year old motor needed to be replaced. We had Steve and his crew replace the old motor with a new one and they also installed a new motor on the manual door. Both doors work great! Steve the technician came about a week ago to help my wife open the gate, she wasn't able to open it with the clicker and the sensor on the driveway didn't work either. When we received a call from the technician Steve he said he will do the best he can to come out ASAP and say it won't be more than an hour. He arrived within 35 min and my wife was have to leave. Steve open the gate for her in lass than 5 minutes and then called me and told me that he won't charge me for his service right now and we agree to meet later on the same day so he can fix our old gate. Steve came at the same day again, and start to work on the gate right away. After 10 min he said "I don't see any problem with your gate opener, but I cleaned the dirt on the safety eye sensor and the gate works perfect now." Than he checked everything again for another 15 min. Less than 30 min for the service he provided, include the morning visit, Steve was very knowledgeable and honest.
